Following the bonfire party under the autumn sky, Lin Huan’er finds herself captivated by Gao Haiming. In a playful, slightly bold mood, she praises his handsome features, specifically his "bling-bling" eyes. Gao Haiming, though bashful, sees through her act when she pretends to be drunk. He carries her back to her room, but she refuses to let go, claiming she is afraid of the dark.
To appease her, he stays the night, and they share the bed with a pillow as a barrier. While Lin Huan’er eventually falls asleep, Gao Haiming spends the night at a desk drafting a specialized contract. The next morning, the pair waits outside for the siblings. When they emerge, Gao Haiming presents a contract that guarantees total R&D independence and the right to terminate the deal unilaterally if the experts are ever dissatisfied.
To their surprise, the woman—whom they had assumed was just an assistant—reveals that she is the true Dr. Wei Dazhuang, while the man is her brother, Wei Daqiang. Together, they are the "WE STRONG" team. Wei Dazhuang explains that she had planned to quit her career for a cross-country motorcycle trip along Route 318 due to gender discrimination at her previous institute.
However, Gao Haiming’s sincerity and persistence over the past two days reignited her passion, and she agrees to join Letao. Back at the office, Wei Dazhuang begins technical research while Lin Huan’er assists with market insights. During a strategy session, Lin Huan’er proposes an innovative "sleep panty" line. Inspired by baby diapers, she suggests a design that emphasizes comfort, clear front-and-back indicators, and a full size range to accommodate all women. Her ideas receive enthusiastic approval from the team.
However, Lin Huan’er’s professional focus is interrupted by a system quest: she must kiss Gao Haiming within five minutes or face a penalty. Panic-stricken, she follows him toward the Finance Office, eventually cornering him at the water station. Under the pressure of the ticking clock and the threat of having to clean toilets, she kisses him in front of their stunned colleagues.
In the aftermath, she loses her composure and blurts out that they are all just "paper people" in a book. This massive spoiler triggers a "Time Rewind" mechanism. The world resets to the moment before the kiss. Realizing she has limited chances left, Lin Huan’er chooses to skip the quest this time, leaving Gao Haiming with a strange sense that he has forgotten something.
Seeking to bond further, Gao Haiming takes Lin Huan’er to a model shop where he hand-assembles fighter jets. He admits he might seem boring, but she finds his meticulous hobby a sign of a rich inner world. He reveals his latest project, a Capricorn jet from his zodiac series, and asks her to paint it. She uses a vibrant, multicolored palette, explaining her hope that the upcoming millennium will be just as diverse.
As she gently wipes paint from his chin, their hearts race, and the system confirms his fondness for her has reached fifty-nine percent. Their intimacy is cut short by a call from Luo Zhou, who has been investigating Lin Huan’er’s background. Meanwhile, Lin Huan’er meets Zhu Mengmeng for tea. They discuss the professional struggles women face, with Lin Huan’er detailing how Wei Dazhuang was passed over for a promotion in favor of a less qualified male colleague.
During their talk, Lin Huan’er hints that she might be leaving soon, which Zhu Mengmeng interprets as a plan to go abroad with her long-term boyfriend, Ou Xiaojue. The next day, Lin Huan’er visits Letao to deliver marketing materials, but Gao Haiming is suddenly cold and suspicious. Informed by Luo Zhou that she spent seven years working multiple jobs to fund Ou Xiaojue’s studies in the UK, he questions if her help is merely a scheme for money.
When Lin Huan’er tries to frame her efforts as helping a friend or pursuing a deeper connection, he shuts her down. Before she leaves, he pointedly tells her to dress more appropriately for the office in the future. Confused by his hostility, Lin Huan’er turns to her colleagues, wondering why her attempts to move the relationship forward have resulted in such a sharp backlash.
