Lin Huan'er woke up by the lake to find herself leaning on Gao Haiming’s shoulder. Feeling self-conscious, she quickly claimed she was only resting her eyes and definitely wasn't snoring. When she realized Gao Haiming hadn't caught anything, her impatient nature took over. She borrowed a fishing net from the resort owner and successfully scooped up a fish herself, jokingly noting that her efficiency was needed for their dinner.
While she expected a resort chef to handle the cooking, Gao Haiming surprised her by taking charge of the campfire. He explained that he had learned to cook as a child because his parents were always too busy to look after him. Touched by his vulnerability and skill, Lin Huan'er found him incredibly handsome in that moment. After their meal, they transferred their photos to a computer.
Frustrated by the slow 30-minute progress bar, Lin Huan'er remarked that such technology would eventually be obsolete. She predicted that by 2025, smartphones would integrate high-end photography and communication. Gao Haiming was struck by her visionary outlook, almost suspecting she had firsthand knowledge of the future, but she quickly brushed it off as a guess based on the pace of innovation. During the transfer, Gao Haiming stepped away to coordinate a romantic surprise with his assistant, Luo Zhou.
He had ordered a "super deluxe package" including flowers, balloons, and "canned air" from Lake Como to symbolize sharing every breath. However, Luo Zhou’s clumsy execution and a mishap with a cleaning lady taking the cans left Gao Haiming frustrated. When Lin Huan'er finally saw the photos, she noticed Gao Haiming had carefully chosen angles that captured the two of them together. Stepping outside, she discovered the festive decorations he had arranged.
Just as he was about to confess his feelings, the lights short-circuited. Lin Huan'er tactfully suggested they were just turning them off to watch the meteor shower. The romantic mood was interrupted again by a nearby firework display and a loud proposal from another couple, which effectively ruined Gao Haiming’s planned moment.
Their stay was further cut short when Luo Zhou called to report that Mr. Zhang, the head of Huasheng Supermarket, wanted to meet the next morning before flying to Paris. During the drive home, a song titled "Love Really Needs Courage" played on the radio. Feeling the weight of the lyrics, Lin Huan'er abruptly turned it off, claiming she was too tired for music. When they arrived at her building, Gao Haiming followed her upstairs.
In the hallway, he admitted that despite the failed lights and the lost air cans, he couldn't wait any longer. He presented the remaining cans and confessed his love. The next day, a drained Lin Huan'er met Zhu Mengmeng for lunch. Zhu Mengmeng described a plot for her new comic where a female lead from the future chooses to stay with her true love forever. Lin Huan'er found the idea unrealistic, questioning how someone could abandon their family and career for a man. Shifting to reality, Lin Huan'er tried to warn Zhu Mengmeng about her feelings for Hu Tiehan.
Using a "spoiler" chance, she revealed that he would eventually die in the line of duty. This triggered a system punishment, causing time to rewind and leaving Lin Huan'er with only one spoiler left. Realizing she couldn't change her friend's heart, she simply chose to wish her happiness. Determined to slow the pace of her own relationship, Lin Huan'er focused on work, promoting skin-friendly, individually wrapped sanitary pads at the supermarket counter.
Meanwhile, Gao Haiming held a meeting with Dr. Wei and the R&D department to prepare for a product launch early the following year. Afterward, he visited Lin Huan'er at her counter and invited her to dinner. Fearful of the fondness score rising too quickly, she made up excuses about needing to personally handle inventory and reports. Gao Haiming left looking disappointed, while Lin Huan'er watched him go, silently hoping he would understand that she was only trying to preserve the time they had left.
