The four of them share a tense dinner where Gao Haiming attempts to learn more about Lin Huan'er’s high school years. Zhu Mengmeng begins to reminisce about their "four-person squad," including a member named Ou Xiaojue, but Lin Huan'er quickly diverts the conversation to Hu Tiehan and Zhu Mengmeng’s relationship. While Zhu Mengmeng is delighted by the attention, Hu Tiehan remains largely silent. Later that night, a heavily intoxicated Gao Haiming takes a walk with Lin Huan'er.
When she asks if his recent behavior stems from jealousy or love, Gao Haiming stubbornly claims he actually hates her. Lin Huan'er is skeptical, noting that his efforts to bring her to Letao and his constant attempts to be near her suggest the exact opposite of hatred. The next morning, Gao Haiming is jolted awake by a phone call from Luo Zhou regarding his schedule, followed by a call from City Voice radio.
In his drunken state the night before, he had dedicated a song to a "hateful woman" named Lin Huan'er, scheduled for the noon broadcast. Realizing he cannot cancel it through the station, he asks Luo Zhou to use a personal contact at the broadcaster to stop the airing. Despite wanting to avoid Lin Huan'er, Gao Haiming is forced to go to the office for urgent meetings.
At the office, Lin Huan'er brings Gao Haiming fresh grape juice for his hangover, but he abruptly relieves her of her duties as his assistant, telling her to return to her original role. Taking his drunken claim of "hatred" as confirmation, Lin Huan'er leaves his office in low spirits. Meanwhile, Zhu Mengmeng heads to a publishing house to sign a contract for her serial, "Star and Firefly". While waiting for a ride, she is harassed by an illegal driver.
Hu Tiehan, acting in his capacity as a traffic officer, intervenes by fining the man for illegal parking and unlicensed operation before personally taking Zhu Mengmeng to her destination on his motorcycle. He later invites her to dinner on Sunday, suggesting he act as her driver. Back at the company, Gao Haiming becomes increasingly anxious as the noon hour approaches. To prevent Lin Huan'er from hearing his radio dedication, he tasks her with a mission at Dr. Wei’s lab.
When he sees her about to board a taxi with a radio playing, he insists on driving her himself. In the car, he lies that his radio is broken and suggests they find inspiration at Coastal Park instead of the lab. At the shore, Lin Huan'er makes a wish to return to her own world, but she soon notices Gao Haiming trembling. Unaware of his childhood trauma involving drowning, she quickly leads him away from the water.
Their outing is interrupted by an urgent phone call; the production line has suffered a major failure after a supplier breached their contract. Gao Haiming reviews contingency plans involving Swiss and Italian suppliers. Relying on her knowledge of the future, Lin Huan'er urges him to choose the Italian company, insisting it is the best choice for long-term growth despite higher initial costs. Gao Haiming trusts her and travels to Italy to secure the deal.
On the day of his return, panic grips the company when Flight KS107 from Milan is reported to have lost contact for over two hours. Lin Huan'er and Luo Zhou rush to the airport, where Lin Huan'er prays for his safety. When an announcement finally reveals the flight was located and is landing safely following a communication failure, Lin Huan'er throws herself into Gao Haiming's arms the moment she sees him.
This emotional reunion triggers a system notification: she has reached 60% fondness from the male lead. Gao Haiming hands her a gift but tells her to wait for the right moment to open it. Their moment is cut short when an old acquaintance appears and introduces a man named Xiaojue.
