> My Page in the 90s Recaps
Following the mass resignation of Letao's R&D team, Gao Haiming faces another blow as Dr. Liu Yan rejects their contract under pressure from their competitor, Fuchuang. Realizing his paths are being blocked, Haiming feels the weight of the crisis. Sensing his distress, Lin Huan'er sends him a text message inviting him for a walk and coffee. She presents him with a specialized decompression doll, encouraging him to squeeze it for stress relief or use it to massage his neck.
Returning to the office, Haiming discovers a meticulously organized list of potential collaboration partners. Assuming it was the work of his assistant, Luo Zhou, he offers praise, only for Luo to clarify that he never prepared such a document. The mystery is solved the next day during a visit to Dr. Li's research team. Dr. Li mentions that a woman named Lin from Letao’s R&D department had already visited to discuss material issues.
Haiming realizes that Huan'er has been working behind the scenes to pave his way. Meanwhile, Zhu Mengmeng attempts to move her relationship with Hu Tiehan forward. After she calls him to set up a date and spends a great deal of time selecting the perfect outfit, she receives a text from him. Tiehan explains he cannot make it due to a sudden shift at work.
Infuriated by his lack of romantic awareness, Mengmeng lashes out at her phone, calling him a "silly goose." At the corporate level, the tension between Haiming and his father, Gao Mingshan, escalates when Haiming skips a board meeting, arguing that no one supports his vision. However, Director Li, an influential board member, reveals that he has been lobbying the other directors.
They are now open to independent R&D to boost competitiveness, but they impose a strict deadline: Haiming must present concrete results by the end of the month. While keeping an eye on the news, Huan'er spots an article about Wei Dazhuang, a brilliant researcher who just resigned from the Chuantu Institute. Drawing on her knowledge of the future timeline from the novel, she remembers that this expert played a crucial role in saving Haiming's business.
She immediately calls Haiming, and they drive to a resort to find him. Upon arrival, they find Wei Dazhuang, a motorcycle enthusiast who has just finished a ride. When Haiming proposes a partnership to develop sanitary pads, Wei is dismissive. He specializes in high-molecular polymer materials for agriculture and finds the idea of working on feminine hygiene products embarrassing and irrelevant. He quickly asks them to leave. Undeterred, Huan'er notices Wei maintaining his motorcycle.
As a fellow rider, she steps in to help him change the oil and filter. She learns that Wei is planning a journey along the 318 route but points out that his current gear is amateurish and unsuitable for high-altitude conditions. Since it is late, Huan'er requests to stay at the resort for the night, promising to share more professional advice the following day. When they attempt to check in, the front desk informs them that only one room remains.
While Haiming hesitates, Huan'er insists they take it. However, the room they enter is dark and resembles a cluttered warehouse. Before they can leave, the door locks from the outside, trapping them within. Haiming calls Luo Zhou to contact the front desk while Huan'er looks for tools to pry the door open. During the wait, Huan'er admits she has long dreamed of challenging the 318 route but has been tied down by work.
She mentions having "scrolled through many short videos" for guidance, terms that Haiming, living in the late 90s, cannot comprehend. When she asks Haiming for his wish, he confesses he wants to go cycling with the person he loves. The staff eventually frees them, explaining that a loose screw had caused the room number 316 to rotate, making it look like 319. After settling into a proper room, they join a bonfire party hosted by Wei Dazhuang's assistant.
During the gathering, they learn that Wei left his institute due to unfair treatment and professional disillusionment. Haiming and Huan'er take the opportunity to make a final pitch. Huan'er argues that professional ability should not be limited by the field of application and that feminine hygiene is a worthy cause that deserves to be spoken about openly and without shame. Haiming emphasizes that as the millennium approaches, China must break its reliance on imported SAP materials.
He envisions Letao as a leading domestic brand that creates social value. When the assistant questions his confidence in Wei Dazhuang's success, Haiming looks at Huan'er and states that his trust comes from her, as she is never wrong.
