My Page in the 90s Episode 17 Recap
> My Page in the 90s Recaps
After Lin Huan'er woke Gao Haiming, the two crept into the living room to investigate a suspicious shadow, only to find the nanny, Fang Yi, sneaking back to pick up some clothes. Gao Haiming had previously sent Fang Yi and the driver, Lu Bo, away to create an opportunity to be alone with Lin Huan'er, which explained Fang Yi’s awkward behavior.
When Lin Huan'er suggested that Fang Yi stay to help care for the sick Gao Haiming, the latter desperately signaled for the nanny to leave. Fang Yi made excuses about urgent matters at home. Despite Lin Huan'er suggesting that Lu Bo could handle the domestic issues alone, Fang Yi insisted on leaving, nervously referring to her own husband as "Lu Bo," which Lin Huan'er found oddly formal.
Fang Yi’s suspicious behavior made Lin Huan'er realize that Gao Haiming had been lying about his situation. However, just as she prepared to leave in frustration, Gao Haiming’s fever actually returned. Seeing him genuinely dizzy and burning up, Lin Huan'er relented and helped him back to bed. He gripped her hand tightly, refusing to let go, and she ultimately spent the night by his side.
The next morning, Gao Haiming woke up delighted to find Lin Huan'er next to him and quickly pretended to still be asleep when she stirred. After Fang Yi delivered breakfast, the system suddenly issued a bizarre limited-time mission: Lin Huan'er had to tear the male lead's clothes within twenty-four hours.
Facing the pressure of a countdown, she tried several clumsy tactics, such as pretending to spill water on him or claiming there was a loose thread that needed cutting with scissors. Gao Haiming, however, remained suspiciously agile or dismissive of her "help."
Hoping to exploit a loophole, Lin Huan'er found a spare shirt in the closet and tore it, but the system immediately issued a warning against such tricks, threatening to punish Gao Haiming with a three-day fever if she failed to complete the task properly. Resigned, she waited until he was asleep and cautiously unbuttoned his shirt. As she tried to flee the room, Gao Haiming suddenly grabbed her and pulled her into a deep kiss.
Though her heart raced, Lin Huan'er felt the timing wasn't right and escaped the villa in a panic. By the time Lin Huan'er reached the office, she was already avoiding Gao Haiming, but he caught up with her in the breakroom. In a bold move, he cornered her against the counter with both arms, keeping her trapped in an intimate stance for several minutes while she tried to make tea.
The arrival of gossiping colleagues forced her to warn him about the public setting before she managed to slip away. Meanwhile, Luo Zhou informed her that he had booked a secluded restaurant for a candlelight dinner for the two of them. Lin Huan'er declined, claiming she had to work late, and confessed to Luo Zhou that she simply wanted Gao Haiming to stop liking her so much. The subplot involving Zhu Mengmeng and Hu Tiehan also progressed.
To help Zhu Mengmeng overcome her stage fright for an upcoming singing competition, Hu Tiehan accompanied her to their old school to practice while it was empty for a spring outing. The cold weather caused Zhu Mengmeng to fall ill, leading Hu Tiehan to take a rare day off to care for her at home.
As he cooked porridge in her kitchen, they reminisced about high school—recalling the time she turned bright red after eating a spicy burger and the disaster of a relay race where she accidentally threw the baton. Hu Tiehan’s sincere encouragement made Zhu Mengmeng feel truly cherished. Back at the company, Lin Huan'er found herself the subject of intense office rumors. The pressure mounted when Gao Haiming’s father, Gao Mingshan, called from Sweden.
He bluntly told Lin Huan'er that she was a burden and unqualified to be with his son because she offered no professional value. He cited the poor sales data of the new "Le Tao" product line and threatened to strip Gao Haiming of his management rights if things didn't improve. While Lin Huan'er defended the time needed for a new product to gain market share, she knew she needed a solution.
Her inspiration came when Luo Zhou returned with a magazine featuring Gao Haiming on the cover, which was being snatched up by female fans everywhere. Seeing the magazine’s popularity, Lin Huan'er realized she had found a way to save the sales figures.
