Gao Haiming and Hu Tiehan headed to a shooting club, but Gao Haiming’s mind was elsewhere. He couldn’t stop thinking about Lin Huan'er’s strange behavior; he knew she had a boyfriend, yet she continued to pursue him. Upon arriving at the club, a group of men attempted to provoke Hu Tiehan, looking for trouble because he had previously fined them. Gao Haiming stepped in to defend his friend, challenging the men to a shooting match.
He easily outclassed them with his superior skills, forcing the troublemakers to leave in embarrassment. Noticing his friend's distraction, Hu Tiehan asked what was on his mind. Gao Haiming questioned whether one should proactively give up on a relationship that was destined to fail. Hu Tiehan thought back to a meal he had shared with Lin Huan'er and Ou Xiaojue before graduation.
He recalled Lin Huan'er's lingering reluctance to part and the realization that she and Ou Xiaojue were fundamentally from different worlds, leading him to advise Gao Haiming that it was indeed best to let go in such situations. Later, while working on a project at the model shop, Gao Haiming remained preoccupied and accidentally knocked off a model aircraft wing. The next day, he took decisive action by visiting Fang Yuan at Yunsheng.
He proposed continuing their partnership with Letao, even offering to concede three percent of the profits. His one condition was that Lin Huan'er be put in charge of marketing for female products and work directly out of the Letao office. Fang Yuan agreed to the terms without hesitation. Meanwhile, Hu Tiehan finally made time for a date with Zhu Mengmeng. During their time together, he found himself asking about the current status of Lin Huan'er and her boyfriend, Ou Xiaojue.
Although Zhu Mengmeng was somewhat dissatisfied that he was asking about someone else, she informed him that the couple’s relationship was stable, though they were seeing less of each other due to Lin Huan'er’s busy work schedule. As soon as Lin Huan'er moved her workspace to Letao, Gao Haiming buried her under a mountain of assignments, forcing her to stay late.
One evening, after the rest of the office had left, Gao Haiming had Luo Zhou order some wontons for her. Lin Huan'er noticed they were the exact same flavor she had enjoyed previously. When they met at the elevator later that night, Gao Haiming stood by the doors but forgot to press the button.
Lin Huan'er suspected he was waiting for her, yet his attitude toward her had been flipping back and forth lately, leaving her confused about his true intentions. Back at home, Lin Huan'er asked Zhu Mengmeng why she liked Hu Tiehan, noting that he didn't seem particularly affectionate. Zhu Mengmeng explained that he simply wasn't the type to show his feelings openly, reminding her how he had often helped her out of trouble back in high school.
Noticing a bottle of sunblock spray Zhu Mengmeng had brought from the UK, Lin Huan'er decided to take it to the office the next day to see if she could make Gao Haiming jealous. Her plan worked; Gao Haiming quickly arranged for a friend to buy an entire case of sunblock from Hong Kong for her. However, when Lin Huan'er generously distributed the bottles to all the female staff, Gao Haiming became visibly upset.
Shortly before the workday ended, Gao Haiming informed Lin Huan'er that she would temporarily take over Luo Zhou’s responsibilities as his personal assistant. The following morning, she arrived early at his villa to wait for him. When Gao Haiming came downstairs carrying a necktie, Lin Huan'er stepped in to help, tying it into a beautiful and unique knot. When he asked where she had learned such a style, she explained she had learned it specifically for a certain man.
Assuming she meant Ou Xiaojue, Gao Haiming became annoyed and left her behind, driving off alone. Lin Huan'er assumed Gao Haiming wouldn't be coming into the office that day, but when she arrived, she found him already there. Frustrated by his perceived attempts to make things difficult for her, she spent a good portion of the day feeling irritated. After work, she suddenly remembered Ou Xiaojue, whom Zhu Mengmeng frequently mentioned.
She then opened her email to look at photos of him, finding him quite handsome. As she looked through the pictures, she began to laugh, only to suddenly realize Gao Haiming was standing right behind her. She quickly shut down the computer, and Gao Haiming told her to come with him. Thinking he was finally softening his stance, Lin Huan'er felt secretly smug. The two arrived at a restaurant, only to find Hu Tiehan and Zhu Mengmeng already waiting there.
