At Chairman Gao’s thirtieth-anniversary celebration, he presented his wife with a priceless pearl necklace, reflecting on their three decades of marriage. The event was attended by Xie Wanjun, a childhood friend of Gao Haiming who kept her eyes fixed on him the entire time. It was revealed that Wanjun had played a key role in helping the Chairman secure the necklace at auction, a gesture the Chairman noted with great appreciation.

Lin Huan’er arrived late and hurried to the restroom to touch up her makeup, where she accidentally overheard Chairman Gao and his wife discussing Haiming. The Chairman expressed frustration that Haiming remained cold toward Wanjun, despite her clear affection for him. He pressured his wife to consider their son’s future, arguing that an alliance with the Xie family’s Fuchuang Company was the only way to successfully expand their business into the northern market.

However, Mrs. Gao prioritized Haiming’s happiness over business interests. Overhearing the conversation, Huan’er marveled at the complexity of this fictional world and labeled Chairman Gao an overbearing, domineering father. When Haiming joined his parents and announced he needed to leave early for urgent business, the Chairman’s irritation only grew. Back in the ballroom, Wanjun intercepted Haiming and persistently asked him to take a day off to accompany her to try on wedding dresses.

Haiming repeatedly declined, citing a busy schedule, but Wanjun refused to take the hint. Seeing his predicament, Huan’er stepped in and grabbed Haiming’s arm, introducing herself as his new secretary. She whispered to him to play along if he wanted to escape. During a brief scuffle where Wanjun tried to pull her away, Huan’er feigned a fall and spilled a glass of red wine all over Haiming’s suit. This provided the perfect excuse for him to leave.

To save face, Chairman Gao told the guests that Huan’er was a newly hired secretary, though Wanjun immediately demanded she be fired. Outside, Haiming’s attitude toward Huan’er softened after she helped him escape the party. She once again requested a job at Letao, but Haiming remained non-committal. When Haiming’s assistant called to report heavy weekend traffic, Huan’er correctly guessed that Haiming intended to head home to build airplane models to calm his nerves.

Knowing the city well, she offered him a ride on her electric scooter. During the ride, they narrowly avoided a collision when someone ran a red light. Huan’er took the opportunity to explain the "suspension bridge effect," suggesting that his racing heart from the near-accident might be mistaken for an attraction to her.

Haiming eventually took over the driving, but upon reaching his home, he still rejected her application, telling her that no boss wants an assistant who knows them too well. Despite the rejection, Huan’er remembered from the original story that she could connect with Haiming through a company called Yunsheng. She spent the night working tirelessly, and the system rewarded her dedication with an "accelerated plot" gift. Suddenly, she found herself working as a PR specialist at Yunsheng.

Her manager, Xiang Lingling, initially assigned her routine tasks, but Huan’er requested a greater challenge. Xiang then assigned her the struggling Kelv account. While the office was a hive of activity—including a quirky manager named Fang Yuan who burned incense for luck—Huan’er’s colleague Wang Zhen warned her that Xiang Lingling was under immense pressure to secure a contract with Letao. Meanwhile, Zhu Mengmeng’s comic, "Star and Firefly", was becoming a massive success.

Her editor suggested expanding the romantic subplots for a standalone volume release. To celebrate, Mengmeng took Huan’er shopping. Huan’er splurged on clothes and bags, a stark contrast to her previous self who lived frugally to send money to her boyfriend, Ou Xiaojue. When Xiaojue messaged her asking for more funds and complaining that the 10,000 Vietnamese Dong she previously sent was useless, Huan’er ignored him and continued her shopping spree.

At Letao, the agency for Lovebaby diapers was facing a crisis as sales for the Beikeke line plummeted due to a spokesperson scandal and stagnant quality. Haiming decided to continue importing the product but planned a secret second-phase upgrade. He ordered his team to keep the production line expansion confidential while he sought out high-quality raw materials at the lowest prices.

Huan’er attempted to visit Letao as a Yunsheng PR specialist but was turned away by the front desk for lacking an appointment. Haiming’s assistant, spotting her, gave strict orders to security to never let her in again. Back at Yunsheng, Huan’er was a day late with her Kelv proposal, and Xiang Lingling threatened to fire her. However, Huan’er also presented a comprehensive proposal for Letao. Recognizing its potential, Xiang Lingling prepared to deliver it herself.

Huan’er, anticipating this, struck a deal: she would deliver the proposal herself; if it succeeded, the credit would go to Xiang Lingling in exchange for a bonus; if it failed, Huan’er would take all the blame. Huan’er managed to present the proposal to Haiming, suggesting that Letao use industry experts to perform professional evaluations to clear Beikeke’s name. The strategy involved relaunching the brand with superior quality and new packaging to regain public trust. Though her presentation was professional, when she returned to Letao the following day claiming to have an appointment, she was once again met with resistance from the company’s security.
