Han Mengnan escorted Grandpa Ma back to the hotel. Seeing Grandpa Ma happily holding the pickled vegetables given by Tian Tian, Han Mengnan felt uneasy. However, in order to secure Grandpa Ma's investment for Shen Mi, Han Mengnan forced a smile, even though the Western meal and symphony she had carefully prepared earlier did not please Grandpa Ma. After Grandpa Ma left, Han Mengnan felt sad alone. She couldn't help but recall the childhood memory when Shen Mi gave her a ring and said he would marry her when they grew up. Despite her efforts, all she got from Shen Mi now was a statement that they could never be together. Feeling even sadder, Mengnan called Gu Mingze directly!

After arriving at Dr. Gu's house, Han Mengnan and Gu Mingze listened to their favorite music. When asked what she wanted to drink, Mengnan immediately requested alcohol. Despite pouring her very little, Mengnan got drunk. She spoke about her inner sorrows, expressing that Gu Mingze could only offer companionship. Mengnan accused Gu Mingze of deceiving her, as the troubles they agreed to discard still lingered. Tearfully, Mengnan called Gu Mingze out, and Dr. Gu, feeling sorry, wiped away her tears. The two locked eyes, and in the heat of the moment, Mengnan tried to retreat, but after regaining composure, Dr. Gu kissed her, though he restrained himself, and Mengnan eventually fell asleep.

The next morning, Mengnan woke up in Gu Mingze's house, remembering the events of the previous night. However, her clothes were intact. Outside, she found a table full of breakfast prepared by Gu Mingze. Despite Gu Mingze proclaiming he didn't eat breakfast, Mengnan decided to forget everything and left. Her emotions remained unsettled after leaving the house. Tian Tian announced that Tian Lin had finally turned a profit, and the team decided to celebrate. When it came to who would foot the bill, everyone pointed to Shen Mi. Shen Mi claimed innocence, and Shen Chen proposed a good idea. Shen Chen and Tian Yuxian exchanged a smile, and the group set off.

It turned out to be an escape room challenge. After getting ready, the group listened to the non-player character introduce the script and rules. Shen Chen, having informed the organizer beforehand, had a plan: as soon as Shen Mi's number tag was torn off once, he would be absent for the entire game! Shen Chen, unsurprisingly, grouped himself with Tian Tian, claiming to protect her. Amidst the chaos, Shen Mi accidentally swapped his number tag with Shen Chen's. In the end, Shen Mi and Tian Tian found the USB drive, completing the mission, while Shen Chen was locked away by non-players!

Dr. Gu and Mengnan continued their promotion of the new drug. Dr. Gu wanted to decline an interview due to personal reasons, but Mengnan reacted strongly. Misunderstood, Dr. Gu expressed his belief that their understanding would deepen after that night, but Mengnan's reaction was even more intense. She declared that their relationship was strictly professional, not even reaching the level of friends, and left. Watching her depart, Dr. Gu felt disheartened. Later, Dr. Gu asked Shen Hongyuan about the patent and, after a negative response, realized Shen Hongyuan's true nature. Eventually, Dr. Gu resigned. Han Mengnan, aware of this, remembered the harsh words she had said to him. She immediately called Gu Mingze, who was at the Tian Lin office, in front of Shen Mi!

Gu Mingze abruptly hung up the call, discussing business matters with Shen Mi. Shen Mi insisted on caution, Tian Tian claimed to have a solution, and Shen Chen insisted on accompanying Tian Tian. Upon arrival, Tian Tian, climbing a wall, noticed signs of a past fire inside and realized the place had been abandoned for a long time. A dog appeared and barked wildly at them. Tian Tian noticed a problem with the dog's neck. With the help of Chen Yifan and Tian Yuxian, Tian Tian brought the dog back to Tian Lin and promptly treated its neck.
