After Daoming Si was tased on a bridge and later woke up on a deserted island with Shancai, it was revealed that the entire "kidnapping" was a prank orchestrated by Xiaozizi, the He family's heiress, to scare Daoming Feng and bring Daoming Si and Shancai closer.
Upon learning this, Daoming Feng, while initially relieved that Daoming Si was safe and under Interpol protection on his way back to Shanghai, quickly ordered Nishida to manage public relations and suppress any negative news that could damage the Daoming Group's successor's image. She also booked a flight back to Shanghai. When Daoming Si and Shancai arrived at the Shanghai airport, they were swarmed by reporters. Meizuo expressed frustration, worried they would be labeled as accomplices due to Xiaozizi's prank.
Huaze Lei suggested Daoming Si and Shancai take separate exits to prevent Daoming Feng from seeing their reunion in the news, knowing her disdain for Shancai. However, Daoming Si boldly declared he wanted his mother and the entire world to know that Shancai was the person he loved most, effectively "declaring war" on Daoming Feng.
Huaze Lei, despite calling Daoming Si foolish and handsome, agreed to help, devising a plan for Ximen and Meizuo to distract the media while he, Daoming Si, and Shancai walked together. Amidst the chaos of the crowd and reporters, a black-clad assailant lunged at Daoming Si from behind, stabbing him. Daoming Si collapsed, his consciousness fading. Shancai and F4 rushed Daoming Si to the hospital. Shancai was terrified, seeing the severe bleeding, and worried he might not survive.
Huaze Lei tried to comfort her, telling her this ordeal was not a punishment but a test that, if overcome, would lead to happiness. Police arrived to investigate, informing F4 that the two assailants were former employees of a now-bankrupt Daoming Group hotel, seeking revenge.
They also confirmed that the island incident was Xiaozizi's prank, to which F4 explained they were invited to a party and only realized it was a prank after arriving, unable to contact police due to lack of signal. F4 agreed to give their statements at the Criminal Investigation Bureau, asking the police to allow Shancai time to recover from her shock. Later, the doctor emerged from surgery, announcing its success and that Daoming Si was out of danger.
However, he cautioned that the severe impact to Daoming Si's head could lead to blood vessel blockage or nerve compression, requiring further observation for potential sequelae. Xiaozizi then arrived, bringing food and clothes for Shancai, and tearfully apologized for her prank causing such serious trouble for Daoming Si. Shancai reassured her that it wasn't her fault and invited her to stay for support, stating that Xiaozizi's presence would give her more courage and confidence.
Daoming Feng soon arrived, dismissively ignoring Shancai and going straight to Daoming Si's bedside. After confirming his stable condition, she immediately instructed Nishida to book the next direct flight back to London (England). Xiaozizi confronted Daoming Feng, accusing her of negligence in managing employee issues, which indirectly led to Daoming Si's injury, and defending Shancai. Daoming Feng, in turn, rebuked Xiaozizi for playing childish games with Shancai and warned her not to betray her affection.
She then coldly told Shancai that the Daoming family's world did not welcome her and demanded she stay away from Daoming Si. Shancai, however, bravely retorted that her world could not exist without Daoming Si, and she would remain by his side until he woke up. She vowed that if Daoming Si truly wanted her to leave, he would have to tell her himself. Daoming Feng ominously replied that Shancai would hear those words soon enough.
After Daoming Feng left, Ms. Yu allowed everyone into the ward to wait. After some time, Daoming Si finally regained consciousness. Looking around, he appeared disoriented and, to everyone's shock, pointed at Shancai and asked, "Who is she?" He recognized Ximen, Meizuo, and even Huaze Lei, teasingly asking him if he was joking. He even remembered Xiaozizi, calling her a "monkey, a monster," but claimed to have no memory of Shancai, mocking her name as "too old-fashioned."
Encouraged by Meizuo, Shancai tearfully recounted their shared history: from their initial encounter where he accidentally crushed her "green crocodile leather" phone, to watching a meteor shower and him gifting her a meteor necklace, promising he'd trade "all the meteors in the sky" for her. Daoming Si feigned ignorance, asking why he should remember such things. Huaze Lei intervened, reminding Daoming Si that Shancai was his true love and he was hers.
When Daoming Si questioned this, Shancai, with tears in her eyes, confessed her deep love for him, recalling their London promise to be happy in the next life, but declaring she wanted to love him in this life. She vowed to make him fall in love with her again, even if he had truly forgotten her. After hearing Shancai's heartfelt confession, Daoming Si broke into a sly smile, admitting he had been faking amnesia to hear her true feelings.
Shancai, infuriated, tried to punch him, but he playfully caught her hand. Seeing them bickering and realizing Daoming Si was back to his old self, F4 and Ms. Yu left them alone. Shancai then tearfully confessed her overwhelming fear when he was injured, admitting she even questioned if God was punishing her for being too greedy by making him forget her.
Daoming Si held her close, assuring her he could never forget her, comparing their bond to "Velcro, sticking together no matter what." Meanwhile, Ximen, Meizuo, and Huaze Lei reflected on Daoming Si and Shancai's relationship. Meizuo believed that only love that "can withstand the test" truly leads to happiness. Ximen agreed but admitted he wouldn't wish such an ordeal on himself.
Huaze Lei offered a different perspective on love, describing his relationship with Teng Tangjing as having evolved into a "more intimate" connection beyond romance—one of loving each other eternally without possession, always remembering their most beautiful selves. Ximen and Meizuo found this ideal admirable but challenging to achieve. After several days at Daoming Si's side, Shancai finally returned home to find her parents, who had rushed back from the fishing village after seeing the news.
They were heartbroken by her exhausted appearance. Shancai reassured them that Daoming Si was recovering well. After Shancai fell asleep, her mother confided in her father, expressing her concern about the vast disparity between their families and the hardships Shancai faced because of Daoming Si. She resolved to gently guide Shancai towards viewing Daoming Si merely as a "common friend." The next day, as Shancai left for school, she was once again mobbed by reporters eager to question her about her relationship with Daoming Si.
