Shancai confided in Xiaoyou about Daoming Si's recent aggressive behavior, admitting she was genuinely frightened and actively avoiding him. Meanwhile, F4 members Meizuo and Ximen noticed Daoming Si's injured hand and questioned him about it, wondering if he had fought with Shancai or hit a wall. Daoming Si offered no explanation and simply left for class.
Later, Ximen asked Huaze Lei about his relationship with Shancai, but Huaze Lei seemed oblivious, his mind focused on how to confess his feelings to Tengtang Jing. As the weekend arrived for Tengtang Jing's birthday ball, Shancai and Xiaoyou got dressed up. Shancai even used the Moist Code CC cream that Jing had recommended in Sanya. Xiaoyou eagerly asked if Ximen would be attending.
Chen Qinghe drove them to the venue in his car, which he proudly called "Qinghe No. 2." Upon arrival, they felt somewhat out of place amidst the many elegantly dressed guests. Soon after, Daoming Si, Meizuo, and Ximen entered. Xiaoyou, excited to see Ximen, eagerly watched, while Shancai quickly hid to avoid Daoming Si. Qinghe jokingly pointed out Daoming Si, recounting a past squid fishing contest where Daoming Si had lost badly.
Eventually, Shancai and Daoming Si came face to face, and he complimented her appearance, calling her cute. However, a girl quickly intercepted Daoming Si, chatting about fashion week and his sister, inadvertently helping Shancai escape an awkward encounter. Meanwhile, Li Zhen, having bought an expensive dress on her credit card, arrived at the party. However, she was denied entry because Shancai, who was already inside, had her invitation.
Li Zhen frantically tried to call Shancai, but Shancai's phone had unfortunately frozen and crashed. Li Zhen, unable to reach her friend and facing the strict security, eventually left, feeling deeply disappointed. Inside, Xiaoyou accidentally spilled a drink on a man's suit. The man became aggressive, demanding she clean his expensive suit. Just then, Ximen appeared, intervening to protect Xiaoyou. He dismissed the man's claims about his suit's quality and sent him away, further endearing himself to Xiaoyou.
Shancai, seeing Xiaoyou with Ximen, worried he might be a womanizer like Daoming Si and might take advantage of her friend, so she pulled Xiaoyou away. She then borrowed Xiaoyou's phone and called Li Zhen, who, trying to hide her sadness, falsely claimed she couldn't make it due to a sudden family emergency. The main event of the ball began with Tengtang Jing's stunning entrance in a black gown.
Huaze Lei, looking handsome in a white suit, met her, and they shared the first waltz, captivating everyone present. Ximen explained to Shancai that Huaze Lei had been mildly autistic as a child, and it was Jing's unwavering presence and support that helped him overcome it and become the person he was today. Shancai realized that despite their long history, Lei and Jing were not yet officially a couple.
After their dance, Huaze Lei attempted to confess his feelings to Jing, but she gently stopped him, stating she already knew what he wanted to say. Jing then took the stage and announced her decision to relinquish her inheritance from the Tengtang Group. She declared her intention to become an international aid lawyer, flying back to Paris in a few days and not returning for a long time.
To signify her resolve, she dramatically cut off her long, carefully tended hair. Huaze Lei was heartbroken and stormed out of the ballroom. Jing followed him, apologizing and explaining that while she understood his feelings, she couldn't accept them. Feeling dejected, Shancai left the party, having had too much to drink. Lost in the grand mansion, she stumbled upon Daoming Si. Drunken Shancai, losing her usual fear, confronted Daoming Si, accusing him of using his family's power to intimidate others.
Suddenly, feeling nauseous, Shancai pulled open Daoming Si's suit jacket and vomited into it. The next morning, Shancai woke up with a headache. Her mother cheerfully informed her that Daoming Si had carried her home, praising him profusely and expressing her desire for such a handsome and well-mannered son-in-law. Later that day, Shancai and Qinghe met Li Zhen for lunch. Li Zhen appeared unwell and ate very little.
Shancai, unaware of Li Zhen's true struggles, enthusiastically recounted how Jing had renounced her inheritance and cut her hair to pursue her dreams in Paris. Li Zhen feigned interest but quickly left, citing her discomfort. Shancai then encountered Daoming Si at school. He cornered her, demanding a "thank you" for carrying her home. Shancai reluctantly complied.
Daoming Si then challenged her, asking if she was so happy last night because Jing was leaving for Paris, and if she thought that meant she could finally be with Huaze Lei. Shancai was left speechless, as Daoming Si had, to some extent, guessed her true thoughts. Disturbed, Shancai went to the rooftop and found Huaze Lei, who was visibly upset but trying to appear unconcerned.
She urged him to try and make Jing stay, confessing that while she had initially felt a flicker of selfish hope when she heard Jing was leaving, seeing Lei's profound sadness made her compassion outweigh any personal feelings. However, Huaze Lei insisted that Jing's decisions were unchangeable. Determined to help, Shancai secretly met Jing, imploring her not to go to Paris. She emphasized Huaze Lei's deep feelings and how much he needed her.
Jing, however, firmly refused, reiterating that love was not the most important thing to her and she would not compromise her dreams for anyone, including Huaze Lei. She thanked Shancai for her concern and left. Huaze Lei, who had witnessed their conversation, was furious. He confronted Shancai, angrily accusing her of meddling and questioning her right to interfere in his affairs, telling her to "get out." Shancai left in tears, confused and hurt by his sudden outburst, questioning if she had done something wrong by trying to help.
