Huaze Lei, Ximen, and Meizuo drove to the Daoming family mansion. After discussing their plan, they decided to enter through the back door. They were immediately discovered by Ms. Yu, who expressed her relief at their arrival and scolded them for being late. She then informed them that Daoming Si was locked up and pointed them towards his room. Bursting into the room, they found Daoming Si lying in bed with Daoming Feng beside him.
Daoming Feng harshly criticized F4, calling them "petty thieves" and questioning Daoming Si's choice of friends. Huaze Lei retorted that unlike her, they wouldn't hurt their own family. Daoming Feng maintained her position, stating she would never allow someone like Shancai, who she deemed inferior in every aspect, to be with Daoming Si, affirming that Xiaozizi was the correct choice. Meanwhile, Xiaozizi was reluctantly trying on wedding dresses under pressure from her mother.
She voiced her distress, explaining that Daoming Si loved Shancai, not her, and she didn't want a loveless marriage. Her mother revealed the critical financial state of the Daoming Group. Daoming Feng's hotel businesses were struggling, and she desperately needed Xiaozizi’s father's support, who in turn sought to acquire Daoming Group’s resources. This alliance, her mother insisted, was essential for the greatest benefit of both families.
Xiaozizi questioned why a simple business cooperation wasn't sufficient, but her mother explained that Daoming Feng’s untrustworthy nature, tough business style, and aggressive business practices which led to many enemies, necessitated a marital bond to secure the deal and make Daoming Si an insider. Her mother then starkly warned Xiaozizi that if she refused the marriage, the Daoming Group could collapse, leaving Daoming Si with absolutely nothing.
Outside Daoming Si's room, Meizuo expressed disbelief at the situation, wondering if Daoming Feng had gone crazy over money. Huaze Lei speculated that Daoming Feng might indeed be desperate and driven to madness, suggesting the Daoming Group could be on the verge of ruin.
Ximen recalled a previous incident where a disgruntled employee who tried to harm Daoming Si cited the hotel's poor management as a motive for revenge, leading them to conclude that the company's problems were far more severe than they had imagined. Realizing the gravity of the situation, the F4 decided their most urgent task was to prevent Daoming Si from making a tragic mistake, and the only person who could help was Shancai.
F4, accompanied by Xiaozizi, went to see Shancai. Shancai, anticipating bad news, urged them to speak plainly, stating she was mentally prepared. Ximen delivered the news that, according to Daoming Feng's plan, Xiaozizi and Daoming Si were soon to be married. Xiaozizi apologized to Shancai, stating she didn't mean for this to happen, and tearfully begged her to give up Daoming Si.
She explained that he had been on a hunger strike since learning of the forced marriage, and his health was rapidly deteriorating. She implored Shancai to at least persuade him to eat, believing he would listen only to her, as he refused to listen to anyone else. She added that if Shancai agreed to give up, Daoming Feng would permit them to meet.
Huaze Lei echoed Xiaozizi’s plea, emphasizing Daoming Si's stubborn personality and that once he set his mind, he would go all the way, even fighting Daoming Feng to the end, which his body couldn't withstand. He urged Shancai to consider it a selfless act to save Daoming Si's life, not to reclaim her love. Heartbroken, Shancai reluctantly agreed, making Xiaozizi promise not to ask for her blessing at the wedding, stating she had already relinquished Daoming Si to her.
Shancai felt a surge of strength, knowing she was not alone and had the support and encouragement of her friends. Shancai then went to the Daoming mansion with Xiaozizi. Daoming Feng was visibly displeased and immediately admonished Xiaozizi for associating with Shancai, whom she considered "undignified," and warned her not to let it affect her demeanor. Shancai stood her ground, asserting she was there to see Daoming Si.
Daoming Feng initially refused, but Xiaozizi intervened, explaining that Shancai had agreed to give up and would clarify everything to Daoming Si. Xiaozizi pressed the issue further, arguing that for her own peace of mind before marrying Daoming Si next week, she needed assurance that he and Shancai had truly broken ties. Daoming Feng eventually conceded, allowing Shancai to speak to Daoming Si through the door, but insisted Xiaozizi remain present.
Shancai, however, requested to speak to Daoming Si alone from outside his door, and Xiaozizi agreed. Shancai stood by Daoming Si's bedroom door and called out to him. Weak from fasting, Daoming Si struggled to get out of bed and collapsed against the door, listening intently. Fighting back tears, Shancai urged him to accept his family's arrangement and marry Xiaozizi, whom she claimed truly loved him.
She falsely confessed that she had never genuinely loved him, only valuing the honor and prestige of being with him, and that the "troubles" had become too much for her to bear, admitting she couldn't continue anymore. Daoming Si, however, saw through her lies. He told her she was adorably foolish, recalling their shared journey through difficulties and his unwavering commitment.
He declared his profound happiness with her, stating that her seemingly harsh words, born of concern, only strengthened his resolve, as only the Shancai who loved him to his core and worried about him disappearing would say such nonsense. Daoming Si revealed that despite his extreme weakness, her voice filled him with boundless strength, affirming that only her accompaniment, his foolish Shancai, could make him feel such power. Listening to him, Shancai’s resolve solidified.
She tearfully promised to never betray her own heart again, to always stand by him, and to accompany him through anything, just as he had promised to chase her to the ends of the earth, even if she fled to Mars. When Shancai emerged from the room, Xiaozizi anxiously asked if Daoming Si had agreed to end his hunger strike and eat. Daoming Feng, hearing no positive news, tried to dismiss Shancai immediately. Xiaozizi apologized to Shancai for the ill-treatment.
Shancai, with newfound clarity and courage, declared that she understood Daoming Si’s reasons and would stand in solidarity with him. She announced that she would join his hunger strike and wait outside the mansion until he came out. Daoming Feng, unmoved, stated that Shancai's actions would not garner her sympathy. Shancai, however, bravely retorted that the one truly deserving of pity was Daoming Feng herself. Shancai then walked out of the mansion and stood resolute outside.
As heavy rain began to fall, Huaze Lei arrived with an umbrella, urging Shancai to eat or drink something, but she steadfastly refused, determined to endure the hardship alongside Daoming Si, promising to accompany him to the ends of the earth, through heaven and hell. As night fell, Shancai remained at the mansion's gates, gazing at the single light illuminating Daoming Si's bedroom window.
