She focused on structures that offered a view of the Oriental Pearl Tower and allowed rooftop access at 5 AM. Finally, she believed she found it. Overjoyed, she immediately messaged Ximen, emphasizing the urgency of their meeting and asking him to meet her at Metro Station 3 in Lujiazui.
Meanwhile, Shancai returned home to unexpected noise, initially fearing a thief or Daoming Si’s bodyguards. To her surprise, it was her mother, who had returned because their "Squid King" business was thriving, and life was looking up. Their reunion was joyful until Shancai’s mother learned her daughter sometimes stayed at Daoming Si’s house. She instantly became excited, thinking they were about to formalize their relationship.
Shancai clarified that they were dating in secret, as Daoming Si’s mother, Daoming Feng, wouldn't approve. Shancai's mother, disgusted by Daoming Feng's "crazy" behavior, vowed to confront her if she were in Shanghai. Shancai also gave her mother some skincare products, noting the fine lines around her eyes, which made her mother happy, seeing her daughter had grown up and cared for her.
Back at Metro Station 3, Xiaoyou waited anxiously for Ximen, but he was nowhere to be found, and his phone was unreachable. She called Shancai, who noticed Xiaoyou's distressed voice and expressed concern that Xiaoyou had been keeping many things from her since falling for Ximen. Xiaoyou assured Shancai she knew what she was doing and this was a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" she didn't want to miss. She promised not to get hurt.
Reluctantly, Shancai agreed to help and suggested they meet near an art square in Shanghai, where Daoming Si had mentioned F4 might be attending a symposium. Shancai, along with Daoming Si, Meizuo, and Lei, met Xiaoyou at a cafe. They questioned why Xiaoyou insisted on seeing Ximen that very night. Xiaoyou explained that a cold wave was approaching, and if the weather turned bad, the sight Xiaogeng wanted to show Ximen might become impossible to see.
Meizuo tried to lighten the mood with a joke, but Xiaoyou remained tense. Despite her offer to wait alone, the group decided to stay with her. As time passed, Ximen still didn't arrive, and his phone remained off. Daoming Si, annoyed, left a series of exasperated voice messages for Ximen, threatening dire consequences if he didn’t show up, including joking that Shancai would "kill" them all. Unbeknownst to them, Ximen was engaged in a tea ceremony with his old teacher.
The teacher, sensing Ximen’s troubled mind, offered subtle wisdom, reminding him that life's challenges are essential for growth. After the session, Ximen checked his phone and saw the barrage of messages and calls from his friends and Xiaoyou. He hesitated, contemplating his next move. Back at the cafe, the group waited until late into the night. Everyone was exhausted, and Shancai suggested they give up and search for Ximen tomorrow.
Xiaoyou, feeling guilty for keeping them up, was on the verge of agreeing when Ximen finally walked in. Daoming Si, infuriated, started scolding Ximen for making them wait all night, but Shancai quickly intervened, urging him to let Xiaoyou speak. Xiaoyou then pleaded with Ximen, asking for one chance to show him what Xiaogeng had wanted him to see, even if he were to treat her as a stranger afterward.
Ximen silently consented, and Xiaoyou took his hand, leading him out. They arrived at a towering building, but it was late, and the elevators were closed. They had no choice but to climb the stairs to the top floor. Xiaoyou, physically weaker, began to struggle halfway up, suggesting Ximen go on without her. But Ximen, without a second thought, took her hand and helped her continue. Finally, they reached the rooftop. Xiaoyou pointed across the way to another skyscraper.
As the first rays of sunrise refracted off the building, a portion of its illuminated sign temporarily disappeared, revealing a hidden message: "Ximen, my dearest." Ximen was stunned. He realized the depth of Xiaogeng's long-lost feelings and regretted his past dismissive behavior, feeling both heartbroken for Xiaogeng's efforts and empathy for Xiaoyou's persistence. He called Xiaogeng "silly" for going to such lengths to express herself. Shancai and Daoming Si remained at the cafe, awaiting news.
Daoming Si, frustrated by Shancai's preoccupation with her friend, initiated a serious conversation about their own future. He presented two airline tickets to London, proposing they move there to openly date and face his formidable mother, Daoming Feng, together. Shancai was hesitant, citing her poor English and general fear of London. Daoming Si, however, was determined to confront his mother and convince her to accept their relationship, believing she would eventually understand if he was honest.
He gave Shancai until the next day to decide. The next day, Xiaoyou arrived at the milk tea shop with a newly cut short hairstyle. Shancai, surprised, wondered if Xiaoyou was heartbroken. However, Xiaoyou appeared cheerful and expressed a desire to find a new, "super happy" love. She told Shancai that she had tried her best in her previous pursuit and now felt satisfied.
Xiaoyou’s newfound courage and determination deeply inspired Shancai, making her reflect on her own timidity in her relationship with Daoming Si. Shancai decided to embrace bravery, trust Daoming Si, and join him in London to confront their future together. Shancai and Daoming Si went shopping, buying matching "Rabbit Smart Jewelry" bracelets, which allowed them to feel each other's thoughts through subtle flashes and vibrations, regardless of distance.
Shancai was delighted, feeling more relaxed and happy than ever before in their relationship. Later, they enjoyed a steak dinner.
