Zhan Huang’s true objective was to obtain Fa Hai’s Alkaid fate. He revealed to Xiao Qing the dire prophecy of the Alkaid fate: one is destined to kill their beloved or die by their hand. Though Fa Hai constantly claimed his heart belonged to Buddha, Xiao Qing finally understood that he had entered monastic life because of her. She would rather Fa Hai subdue her than become a monk.

On the day he received his tonsure, Fa Hai’s sole wish to Buddha was for Xiao Qing to live a carefree life, forever free from the pains of love and emotion. As they faced Zhan Huang, with no one to help, Xiao Qing, with fierce resolve, chose to complete Fa Hai’s destiny. Believing he could escape, she gambled her own life. She attempted to stab herself with her sword, but Fa Hai swiftly broke the blade.

Yet, Xiao Qing's determination for death was absolute; she plunged the broken sword into her chest, preferring to die alongside Fa Hai rather than live without him. Fa Hai was unlike Xu Xuan; he was afraid of destiny. All he wished for Xiao Qing was to never fail her in this lifetime, which is why he became a monk, not wanting to give her false hope. But Xiao Qing's love for him was deep-rooted and inescapable.

Fa Hai held the dying Xiao Qing, overwhelmed with sorrow and reluctance. Fa Hai then confronted Zhan Huang alone, with no chance of victory. Zhan Huang forcibly took his Alkaid fate, boasting that if Fa Hai had not consumed the blood of Qilin, he would not have been able to use the array to take his fate. This fate, deeply engraved in one's primordial spirit, caused Fa Hai excruciating, unbearable pain as it was ripped from him.

Zhan Huang gloated that Fa Hai must now wish he were dead. Fa Hai retorted that Zhan Huang, as a Demon Emperor, kept resorting to dirty tricks instead of fighting fairly. Zhan Huang countered that there was no need for fairness when dealing with the deity clan. Just then, Bai Yaoyao arrived to find Xiao Qing injured and unconscious.

Bai Yaoyao quickly sent Fa Hai and Xiao Qing out of Kunlun Mountain, choosing to stay behind and confront Zhan Huang herself. It was then that Bai Yaoyao realized Zhan Huang was Dubhe, and that she still possessed half of the Dubhe fate, which served as her leverage against Zhan Huang. Zhan Huang, however, had not yet fully refined the newly acquired Alkaid fate, which hindered his full powers.

Alongside Tao Tie and Ni Yun, he managed to knock Bai Yaoyao unconscious. Ni Yun urged Zhan Huang to seize this opportunity to take the remaining half of the Dubhe fate from Bai Yaoyao, emphasizing that she was trying to fight all three of them alone. But Zhan Huang, unwilling to hurt Bai Yaoyao, hesitated and ultimately did not take her fate.

Ni Yun pressed him, reminding him that the Heavenly Clan was poised to attack and that Bai Yaoyao could not be kept alive. Ni Yun further urged him to take Bai Yaoyao's remaining fate while she was weak to avoid a fierce battle, but Zhan Huang refused, stating that forcibly taking her fate would kill her, and her life was more important than everything else.

Yet, Zhan Huang remained resolute in saving Bai Yaoyao, affirming she was the only one he had ever fallen for in ten thousand years, regardless of the current volatile situation. He stated that he did things by his own will, whether it was sweeping through Bei Huang ten thousand years ago or betraying the Divine Realm a thousand years ago. He concluded that he would not mind if she wanted his life immediately.

Meanwhile, at the gates of Kunlun Mountain, Xiao Xiang was ready to lead the heavenly troops in an assault. The Green Emperor intervened, advising caution and stressing the need to await news from Xu Xuan for a guaranteed plan of action. Xiao Xiang, harboring deep resentment towards Zhan Huang for the loss of Kunlun, could not wait any longer and was determined to attack immediately, declaring she would reclaim what was lost herself.

Inside the earth fire secret passage, Xu Xuan's divine power was severely restricted. He was almost defeated by the Vine Demon and Butterfly Demon when the Dragon King appeared, timely saving him and forcing the two demons to flee. The Dragon King had come to assist Xu Xuan in extinguishing the demonized earth fire using his dragon scales.

The Dragon King explained that since Zhan Huang took control, Kunlun's Fiery Grounds had been infused with demon aura, making it a fierce fire that suppressed Xu Xuan's deity prowess. Even with the combined power of the dragon scales and the Tianji Sword, the demon fire could not be put out. The only remaining option was for the Dragon King to sacrifice his dragon blood, an act that could endanger his life.

Xu Xuan pleaded with the Dragon King not to disregard his own life, but the Dragon King insisted that extinguishing the demonic fire was essential for removing the demon aura and retaking Kunlun. Tao Tie arrived at the earth fire to prevent the Dragon King from sacrificing his blood. He worried his father’s life would be in danger and questioned why the Dragon King was helping the Empyrean Heaven and allowing himself to become a pawn.

The Dragon King, rejecting Tao Tie and stating their relationship was severed, ignored his pleas and proceeded with the blood sacrifice. Tao Tie questioned his father's pride, recalling how his father's dragon scales were damaged in the Battle of the Four Seas, bringing shame to the Dragon Clan, and how he had vowed revenge since childhood.

Witnessing his father's life in grave peril, Tao Tie, despite his father's words, proclaimed he would no longer follow his orders and sacrificed his own blood to protect the Dragon King, stating that if extinguishing the fire with dragon blood was taking his father's life at risk, he would protect him with himself. He added that if both father and son were to die there, it would also be a good ending.

With Tao Tie's help, the Dragon King successfully extinguished the demon fire. Still bewildered, Tao Tie repeatedly questioned his father's decision to aid the Empyrean Heaven. Xu Xuan led both the Dragon King and Tao Tie out of the earth fire. Outside, the White Emperor and heavenly soldiers prepared to apprehend Tao Tie and interrogate the Dragon King.

Xu Xuan stepped forward, asserting that it was his idea to seek aid from the Dragon Clan and declared he would not stand by as the Dragon King was accused. The White Emperor accused Xu Xuan of betraying the Empyrean Heaven for personal relations and ordered his capture. Tao Tie fought fiercely to protect Xu Xuan, even stating he would kill the heavenly soldiers.

Ni Yun reported to Zhan Huang that the heavenly soldiers were thirty minutes away and Xu Xuan had extinguished Kunlun's eternal Fiery Grounds. Zhan Huang pondered if this was destiny, but then stated he had one more thing to do. Before the heavenly troops could launch their attack, Zhan Huang forcibly declared Bai Yaoyao his Demon Empress, compelling her into a public wedding ceremony, despite her protests that she was already married to Xu Xuan and would never marry him.

Zhan Huang boasted he would not let her escape again, and she would never have a chance to leave him, even in death, and ordered her to be dressed as the Demon Empress. Meanwhile, news arrived that Zhan Huang and Bai Yaoyao were publicly married, and she was being called the Demon Empress. Afterward, Zhan Huang and his demon army retreated to the lower realms.

Xiao Xiang and her forces were in hot pursuit, with Zhan Huang harboring lethal intent towards Xiao Xiang. Xu Xuan tracked Zhan Huang, unexpectedly intercepting them and saving Xiao Xiang and Bai Yaoyao. However, Xu Xuan was no match for Zhan Huang. Xu Xuan offered Zhan Huang a chance to surrender, but Zhan Huang refused, vowing to get rid of Xu Xuan. Bai Yaoyao, desperate, threatened to destroy her spiritual marble to force Zhan Huang to release Xu Xuan.

But Zhan Huang revealed that during her healing, he had already sealed her spiritual marble within her body, ensuring that she could not escape him, not even through death. Bai Yaoyao publicly declared her sole loyalty to Xu Xuan, affirming her heart belonged only to him. Zhan Huang countered that she had half his fate, so she belonged to him. Zhan Huang then attempted to use the Kunlun Mirror to seize Xu Xuan's Seven Prowesses fate and kill him.

Bai Yaoyao bravely threw herself in front of the mirror, shielding Xu Xuan with her body. This action spontaneously formed a barrier, preventing Xu Xuan from intervening. Zhan Huang warned her she would suffer pain from damaging her primordial spirit, but she insisted on protecting her husband's life. Xu Xuan begged her to step aside, saying only he could stop the mirror and save her.

Xu Xuan threatened Zhan Huang, vowing to search all three realms for him if Bai Yaoyao died. Zhan Huang issued an ultimatum: either Bai Yaoyao left with him, or she would die under the Kunlun Mirror. Xiao Xiang protested, calling Zhan Huang a felon. Though Bai Yaoyao was unafraid of death, Xu Xuan could not bear to see her perish.

Xu Xuan, conflicted, remembered collecting Bai Yaoyao's soul a thousand years ago and her current uncultivated state, realizing he could not let her die. Bai Yaoyao, accepting her fate, told Xu Xuan she had no regrets accompanying him for two lifetimes. With a heavy heart, Xu Xuan allowed Zhan Huang to take her away.

Xiao Xiang, witnessing Xu Xuan's decision, was furious, accusing him of prioritizing his personal affections over the well-being of the world and letting Zhan Huang escape despite having heavenly soldiers under his command. She worried that Xu Xuan might eventually align himself with the demon clan, given Bai Yaoyao's new position. Meanwhile, Fa Hai’s disciple reported that Fa Hai was seriously injured and his life was in danger.

There was a discussion among the heavenly forces about punishing Xu Xuan, and the disciple expressed concern that Fa Hai, being merciful and close to Xu Xuan, might side with the demon clan after recovery. Fa Hai’s master dismissed his concerns, stating he would handle it himself. Xiao Qing awoke and tried to repair her shattered hairpin, but despite her efforts, her power was insufficient.

She asked about Fa Hai and learned his injuries were graver; having lost his Alkaid fate, even the Herb Deity was helpless to save him, but she was relieved he was still alive. Xu Xuan, in despair, used the Mirror of Ice to try and locate Bai Yaoyao, exhausting his prowess over three days and nights. His Master tried to convince him to stop, as he was too weak to even cast a spell. Xu Xuan lamented his inability to protect his wife and his injured friend, feeling utterly powerless against Zhan Huang.
