Swords of Legends Episode 23 Recap
> Swords of Legends Recap
Ouyang Shaogong, intent on creating an eternal kingdom, orchestrated an epidemic in Qinshuang. He then masqueraded as a healer from an immortal sect, offering remedies to the afflicted. Fang Lansheng's second sister tragically contracted the plague and, after taking Ouyang Shaogong's manufactured elixir, her body transformed into a Jiaoming (a type of insect), and her soul was absorbed by the Yuheng artifact for use in Ouyang Shaogong's alchemy.
Xun Fang, whose appearance had aged significantly due to a past natural disaster, was living disguised as Jitong. While in this guise, she considered revealing her own plot to Ouyang Shaogong, but, fearing his disbelief given the presence of her disguised self (as Xun Fang) nearby, she instead angrily dismissed him.
Later, Xun Fang, still under the guise of Jitong, comforted Ouyang Shaogong, attributing "Jitong's" erratic behavior to old age and Ouyang Shaogong's frequent absences, thereby subtly preparing the ground for her eventual revelation as Xun Fang. Concurrently, Baili Tusu's body was forcibly infused with the inner core of a wolf demon, which dramatically intensified the Sha Qi within him, making it progressively harder for him to control.
Although Baili Tusu successfully killed the wolf demon, he reappeared to others having lost his rationality and fallen under the control of this malevolent energy. When Baili Tusu was on the verge of succumbing to a berserk rage, Feng Qingxue embraced him tightly, using her spiritual fire to help him suppress the Sha Qi. Following this ordeal, she pleaded with Baili Tusu to trust her and never abandon her.
However, the Sha Qi continued to be beyond his control, and he grew fearful that he would inevitably go berserk and be forsaken by everyone. Baili Tusu was frequently influenced by the wolf demon's inner core. After a discussion with Lingyue, Baili Tusu grasped the immense impact of the inner core but dared not inform Lingyue of his drastically increased Sha Qi.
Subsequent to the wolf demon incident, Lingyue ceased his attempts to compel Baili Tusu's return to Tianyong City and even incapacitated Ling Duan, who had intended to forcibly take Baili Tusu away. Feng Qingxue prepared Beggar's Chicken for Baili Tusu, but as he was about to eat, the Sha Qi suddenly erupted. Recognizing the wolf demon's inner core as the cause, Baili Tusu forcefully suppressed the Sha Qi, determined not to become a bloodthirsty demon.
He kept his worsening condition hidden from Feng Qingxue, rushing them to Jiangdu to await Ouyang Shaogong. Despite his efforts, Feng Qingxue discerned the gravity of Baili Tusu's Sha Qi. At Tie Zhu Guan, Feng Qingxue activated a Nuwa taboo, summoning the goddess's spiritual power to temporarily control Baili Tusu's Sha Qi. However, she eventually reached a point where she could no longer manage his Sha Qi.
Consequently, the Youdu Granny compelled Feng Qingxue to kill Baili Tusu, as his body was no longer capable of containing the malevolent energy. Acknowledging his impending fate, Baili Tusu expressed a final wish to return to Susu Valley and implored Feng Qingxue to kill him before he transformed into a mad demon. Ouyang Shaogong, ultimately revealed to be Gui Mian Ren, engaged in a fierce battle with Baili Tusu and eventually died by Baili Tusu's sword.
Xun Fang, who was Jitong, perished alongside Ouyang Shaogong. Following this climactic battle, Lingyue retired to the deep mountains. Baili Tusu eventually died, but Feng Qingxue, after tirelessly searching for a resurrection method for hundreds of years, finally succeeded after 800 years, leading to Baili Tusu's rebirth. In other events, Fang Lansheng, after a complex entanglement with Ye Shenxiang, helped her transcend and subsequently married Sun Yueyan. Xiang Ling developed affections for Fang Lansheng, but their destinies prevented them from being together, leading her to return to her hometown.
