Zhuang Yuan was very surprised to hear that Jiang Yi had always known about Huang Yingzi pretending to be his girlfriend during the summer vacation of their third year of high school. Finally, Jiang Yi's superior agreed to this setting. Zhuang Yuan went to intern at Fang Mingyu's company. At the time, it was Fang Mingyu's boyfriend, Guo Kai, who arranged for Zhuang Yuan to join.

On his first day of work, Guo Kai confessed to Zhuang Yuan that he and Fang Mingyu were in a relationship and asked Zhuang Yuan to help him with something. At that time, the admissions office of Jiangzhou University called and said they could admit her through the early admission program. Fang Mingyu was unsure about her college entrance examination results, so she accepted the invitation from Jiangzhou University. When Huang Yingzi had rushed to the library to ask Fang Mingyu which university she planned to apply for, she knew it must have been Zhuang Yuan who asked her to ask.

Fang Mingyu deliberately said Qingbei University, hoping Zhuang Yuan could have the best future. Zhuang Yuan drank a lot that day. When he got home, he sadly told Jiang Yi that he must pursue Huang Yingzi, and not end up like him, who actually saw the woman he loved accept another man's proposal ring with his own eyes. He added that Huang Yingzi had waited for Jiang Yi for twelve years and deserved the best gift.

Zhuang Yuan told Jiang Yi to immediately give her the treasured umbrella. Time waits for no man; if someone else gets ahead of him, Jiang Yi would have no chance at all. Jiang Yi asked Huang Yingzi to go to the movies with him. To create an atmosphere, he specially booked the entire cinema. After the movie ended, Jiang Yi opened the umbrella he had treasured for a long time. When the umbrella opened, Huang Yingzi's tears welled up. The umbrella with the whale painting that she had once lost was actually found again!
