Shancai embraced Daoming Si, confessing her feelings and asking him to officially be her boyfriend. His world immediately brightened, knowing his love was finally reciprocated. With their commitment established, Shancai's earlier shyness melted away, allowing her to openly embrace and give love. Meizuo orchestrated a "chance" meeting with Zhou Caina at a piano concert given by his old friend, the pianist Li Quan.
After Caina apologized for her initial skepticism about his connection to Li Quan, she asked Meizuo to take her backstage. There, Meizuo introduced Caina to Li Quan as his girlfriend, and they took a group photo. Caina, pleased to meet her idol, didn't object to the label in the moment but later clarified to Meizuo that she saw him only as a younger brother. Meizuo charmingly tried to persuade her to consider him as a boyfriend, listing his appealing qualities.
Caina playfully suggested that if they were truly destined, they would meet again by chance. Meizuo then asked her to buy him a drink as a reward for the concert access. At the bar, Caina confided that she tends to get "crazy" and forgetful when drunk, but Meizuo promised to be a responsible gentleman and escort her home safely. As they drank more, Caina became heavily intoxicated.
Unexpectedly, Terence, a man Caina had a one-night romance with during a trip, appeared. A heated argument erupted between Meizuo and Terence over who would take the drunken Caina home, resulting in her being knocked to the ground twice during their struggle. The next morning, a restless Caina woke up with unexplained bruises and no memory of the previous night. She called Meizuo to piece together the events.
He explained that she had gotten drunk and revealed details about her past with Terence. He also admitted that the fight between him and Terence over who would take her home led to her falling and getting bruised. Amused to learn she didn't even remember Terence's name, Meizuo felt pleased. Caina, relieved she hadn't done anything more foolish, asked him to remind her never to drink again. Meanwhile, Shancai continued her work at the Daoming residence.
Her kindness was on display when she offered to cover for a sick colleague, earning the silent approval of the stern head of staff, Ms. Yu. Daoming Si, now in a relationship, was noticeably happier and more agreeable. He even actively participated in a class discussion, earning praise from his professor. Later, Shancai was confronted by Xinhui and Baihe, who jealously pointed out Daoming Si’s public social media post announcing their stable relationship.
Shancai, who preferred privacy, was angered by his oversharing and confronted him. He, however, defiantly defended his joy and the positive impact their relationship had on his life, including his improved academic performance. Their playful argument ended with Daoming Si inviting her on a date. By the riverside, Shancai asked about his post-graduation plans. He initially teased her by saying he’d return to London, observing her sadness.
He then happily revealed he had applied for graduate studies to stay at the university and graduate with her. Shancai was deeply touched and overjoyed. Later, Caina found Terence waiting for her at her doorstep. To evade him, she claimed she had a date with Meizuo. Unfazed, Terence insisted on driving her. Desperate, Caina secretly called Meizuo, who was at a gathering at Daoming Si’s house, and he immediately left his friends to rescue her.
At the bar, Caina instructed Meizuo to pretend to be her boyfriend. A palpable tension arose between the two men. Meizuo, seeking to disarm Terence, ordered a potent "Red Bomb" cocktail for him. However, Terence deftly tricked Caina into drinking it. Unaware of its strength, Caina then ordered two more "Red Bombs," one for each man. To avoid the powerful drinks, they started talking again.
Terence eventually circled back to his main question: why Caina had vanished without a word after their night together. To avoid responding, Caina quickly drank her cocktail, rendering herself completely unconscious. The scene devolved into another struggle between Meizuo and Terence to take her home, with Caina once again enduring more falls and bruises.
The next day, Shancai was organizing old clothes to sell on the second-hand trading website zhuanzhuan when she received news that Daoming Si’s formidable mother, Daoming Feng, was unexpectedly returning. Panic-stricken, Shancai tried to make a quick exit but was caught by Daoming Feng's arrival, forcing her to hide under a table. Daoming Feng immediately began asserting her authority, reprimanding staff for using their phones during work hours.
