Seeing Tang Xin step forward without hesitation to expose Wan Shan's misdeeds, Yuan Shuai finally breathed a sigh of relief. He then flashed a mocking gesture at the surveillance camera. On the other end, Du Lei, watching everything unfold, couldn't contain his anger at Yuan Shuai's triumphant expression.
With the meeting concluded, Wan Shan was officially dismissed, and Luo Sheng took his place—everything settled. Faced with his sister Linda's reproach, Du Lei feigned indifference, insisting this was just one round of their battle. But Linda urged him not to be stubborn, warning that Yuan Shuai had become Du Lei's obsession. Yet Du Lei remained adamant, determined to prove he could take on Yuan Shuai alone, without relying on anyone else.
Yuan Shuai and Jiang Jun continued discussing the Wan Shan incident, with Yuan Shuai using it as a lesson to caution Jiang Jun against acting alone. At the convenience store, Xu Li found herself alone with her crush, Li Xiaochuan. Determined to get closer to him, she tried every trick in the book—only to be thwarted by Xiaochuan's cluelessness. Frustrated by her failed attempts to get closer to Xiaochuan, Xu Li enlisted Jiang Jun's help. Catching her lurking outside, Yuan Shuai grew jealous upon hearing her request—until Jiang Jun explained it was for Xu Li’s plan. Seizing the opportunity, Yuan Shuai arranged a "double date," demanding Jiang Jun prepare movie tickets not just for Li Xiaochuan and Xu Li, but also for himself and Jiang Jun. Threatened with Xiaochuan’s involvement, Jiang Jun had no choice but to agree.
At the cinema, Jiang Jun and Xu Li were shocked to learn that Li Xiaochuan and Yuan Shuai were cousins. Hoping for alone time with her crush, Xu Li secretly booked separate screenings. Yet even in the dim, atmospheric setting of a horror movie, Xiaochuan remained oblivious to her hints. Meanwhile, Yuan Shuai and Jiang Jun watched their film together.
During an emotional scene, Jiang Jun couldn’t bear to look, and Yuan Shuai pulled her into his arms, whispering comforting words. Their bond deepened in that intimate moment. The next day, Jiang Jun received an apology from the property management for the recent water outage. They mentioned the landlord could help recharge the water fees—and upon inquiry, Jiang Jun discovered the landlord of her apartment was none other than Yuan Shuai.
She then returned to her old neighborhood and found her former landlord gossiping with neighbors about a tenant who never showed up. Putting the pieces together, Jiang Jun pretended to be interested in renting and showed the landlord Yuan Shuai’s photo. The landlord’s stunned, hesitant expression confirmed everything. At the office, Su Chang reported to Yuan Shuai about Wan Shan and Du Lei’s dealings, as well as Jiang Jun’s early promotion for her commendable performance.
But Jiang Jun, still fuming, refused to even look at Yuan Shuai. Ignoring Shen Xin’s snide remarks, she messaged Yuan Shuai to meet her on the rooftop. There, she confronted him with everything she’d uncovered that day. Yuan Shuai slowly realized his carefully laid plans had been exposed.
