As Qiao Jingjing and Yu Tu rode in a car, Yu Tu was visibly deep in thought while Jingjing focused on her phone. She discovered that both she and Yu Tu were on trending searches. People were praising Yu Tu, commenting on his good looks, intelligence, and excellent gaming skills, even suggesting he join show business or speculating if he worked at the National Aerospace Research Institute.

Concerned about the intense public scrutiny, Jingjing immediately contacted Ms. Ling, urging her to remove the trending topics quickly and tell marketing accounts and media to avoid mentioning Yu Tu. She explained that she didn't realize Yu Tu intended to return to scientific research, and she worried the noisy entertainment world would distract him, emphasizing his need to maintain a low profile at the institute.

Jingjing then asked Yu Tu about his earlier statement on stage, confirming his profession as an aerospace designer. Yu Tu acknowledged that he had decided to return to the institute, a decision made during his trip to Xi'an, and would resume work tomorrow. He expressed regret, telling Jingjing that he likely wouldn't be able to give her the "Penta Kill" she desired for her birthday because he wouldn't have time for games anymore.

Jingjing felt a pang of disappointment, sensing a subtle coldness from him. Yu Tu requested to be dropped off at a subway station, stating it was convenient for him to get home from there and that he had to work the next day. He politely declined the invitation for a celebratory supper. As Yu Tu walked away, Jingjing, fearing this might be their final farewell, chased after him.

Mustering her courage, she asked him directly if he was willing to be with her. With a heavy heart, Yu Tu gently rejected her, explaining that she belonged to a dazzling world, while he belonged to another, implying they were not meant for each other. Jingjing, heartbroken by this second rejection since high school, turned and walked away, struggling to hold back her tears. Yu Tu watched her leave, feeling a profound sadness.

Yu Tu returned home to find Zhai Liang playing games. Zhai Liang had already discovered Yu Tu's participation in the Honor of Kings match with Qiao Jingjing, even recognizing her voice as familiar. He tried to question Yu Tu about it, but seeing his friend's obvious exhaustion, Zhai Liang decided to drop the matter, though he noted the university group chat was buzzing with excitement. The following day, Yu Tu returned to the National Aerospace Research Institute.

Mr. Zhang warmly welcomed him back to the office, apologizing for his previous harsh words and acknowledging that the challenges faced by younger generations in terms of living costs and industry disparities were different from their own era. He then asked if Yu Tu had truly thought through his decision to stay. Yu Tu assured him that he would dedicate himself fully to his work. Mr. Zhang then brought up Jingjing, mentioning his wife told him she was a celebrity.

He praised Jingjing, calling her a "nice girl" and even suggesting she made some good points. He encouraged Yu Tu to be proactive in pursuing her, stating it was time for Yu Tu to consider his marriage. However, Yu Tu responded that he felt he had nothing to offer her. Mr. Zhang was angered by this, asserting that Yu Tu, a prospective chief engineer and a graduate of a prestigious school, was more than suitable for a celebrity.

He dismissed money as a factor, reminding Yu Tu that the aerospace industry was the most romantic profession, regardless of income. Mr. Zhang then informed Yu Tu that Guan Zai had suddenly fallen ill and asked him to take on some of Guan Zai's responsibilities, starting with leading the confirmation work for the improved exploration rover. Yu Tu, Mr. Zhang, Mr. Luo, and other colleagues proceeded to the assembly department.

Mr. Zhang explained that with the head engineer busy on other models and Guan Zai unexpectedly sick, Yu Tu would lead the confirmation work for the exploration rover. In a meeting before work, Yu Tu outlined the day's experiments, which included tests for speed, turning capabilities, and mobility under extreme conditions. The team began the linear motion experiment on flat ground. The work was repetitive, with multiple normal completions of the drive cycle.

However, during a slope-climbing test, the rover unexpectedly lagged, and the telemetry showed abnormal data. They tried to reproduce the error, and each team member confirmed their standalone devices, the communication system, and the integrated electronics were all functioning correctly, having sent indications to the mobile device without issues during prior tests. They then reviewed the test reports and blueprints, searching for the cause of the malfunction.

As the day stretched late, colleagues expressed frustration, with one lamenting missing his girlfriend's birthday. Yu Tu suggested they call it a day and revisit the problem with a clearer mind tomorrow. While others left, Yu Tu stayed behind, meticulously reviewing documents. He picked up his phone and watched a video of Jingjing's birthday interview. In the interview, Jingjing mentioned she hadn't received any "special gifts" yet, but anticipated her fans' gifts would be unique.

This reminded Yu Tu of the "Penta Kill" he had promised her as a birthday gift, a promise he now knew he couldn't keep. Reflecting on Shen Jing's past difficulties due to Guan Zai's frequent absence, Yu Tu reaffirmed his belief that he could not provide Jingjing with constant companionship or the luxurious lifestyle she deserved, and therefore, he felt unworthy of her.
