Thanks to Gu Wei's emergency treatment, the patient was finally out of danger. After giving a few more instructions to Dr. Du, he accompanied Lin Zhixiao to meet Xiao Shan. The meeting was set at the café run by Gu Xiao, but the place was pitch dark, seemingly already closed. Gu Wei had Lin Zhixiao hide behind him, ready to protect her in case anything happened.

The two pushed the door open and groped their way inside until Gu Xiao and Xiao Shan suddenly appeared, and the café lights turned on. Caught by surprise, Gu Wei got colored streamers on his coat and tossed it to Gu Xiao, telling him to clean it later. The four opened a bottle of wine to celebrate.

Xiao Shan teased that Lin Zhixiao and Gu Wei were about to enjoy a romantic trip abroad, so this dinner could be considered a farewell party. Deputy Director Gao met privately with Gu Wei, saying that the patient’s family was emotionally unstable. He decided to reassign the patient to Dr. Yan to avoid further issues. Gu Wei asked why the hospital hadn’t issued the visa certification for his trip to Germany. Seeing Deputy Director Gao’s troubled expression, he realized the Germany trip was completely off the table.

Gu Wei, who had already packed his medical books, now put them back on the shelves. His mother called to ask about the situation, but he gave vague answers. Lin Zhixiao came running in, mistaking his actions as preparation for the trip and started repacking the books herself. Seeing Lin Zhixiao’s excited face, Gu Wei felt conflicted. Just as he was about to bring up the matter, Lin Zhixiao received a call and had to leave.

The caller was An Fei, who asked to meet with Lin Zhixiao and signed the contract for the job in Germany. Dr. Du informed Gu Wei that the hospital had formed an investigation team, and online articles had begun surfacing against him. One article claimed he had once botched a surgery for his teacher, which led to the teacher’s death.

The patient's family had blown the issue up, attracting the attention of the Health Commission, putting even Deputy Director Gao in a tough spot. The patient’s father threatened to sue Gu Wei. Gu Wei stood in the corridor, silently enduring his accusations. Unexpectedly, Gao Xi had returned from abroad and came to support him. Other patients’ families, affected by the news, also began to doubt Gu Wei. Despite his reassurances, they still chose to switch to a different lead surgeon.

Gao Xi witnessed everything and sympathized with Gu Wei. She wanted to help him get through this crisis.
