That night, she sneakily slipped out, unaware that Lin Jianguo was watching from behind. As she stood by the door, Gu Wei came out of the elevator and happened to spot Lin Jianguo hiding inside. To prevent Lin Jianguo from getting the wrong idea, Gu Wei pretended to argue with Lin Zhixiao. Seeing Gu Wei give her a signal, she cooperated seamlessly.

Lin Jianguo, unable to listen anymore, stepped out under the guise of educating Lin Zhixiao, deliberately elevating Gu Wei as an elder and hinting that he shouldn’t have improper thoughts about her, showing his protectiveness as a father. Gu Wei felt awkward and didn’t press further—the matter he wanted to discuss with Lin Zhixiao that night had to be postponed. Since Lin Jianguo was watching too closely, Lin Zhixiao messaged Gu Wei as soon as she returned to her room.

They couldn’t meet openly for the time being and had to rely on texting. The next day at the school library, Lin Zhixiao learned that Yin Xi and Jin Shi hadn’t been in contact for a while, indicating their chances of getting back together were slim. Although Yin Xi was still hoping Jin Shi would make the first move, days passed with no news, leaving her increasingly disappointed.

She saw Lin Zhixiao’s small notebook, which detailed her romantic schedule with Gu Wei and all the tasks for each time period. Yin Xi couldn’t help teasing her, saying that if she put the same effort into studying, she’d have been top of the school.
