Before departing, Bai Yaoyao spoke with Xu Xuan, who promised to seek help from the Heavenly Emperor at Mount Li. Bai Yaoyao asked Xu Xuan to help the people of Lin'an City recover from the devastating flood she caused. Xu Xuan assured her that he felt no burden protecting all living souls and only wished for her safety and peace for everyone.

Bai Yaoyao made Xu Xuan promise to believe in her no matter what, as she intended to save Fa Hai. Xu Xuan, in turn, promised to trust her and wait for her return. Shortly after, the Dragon King confronted Bai Yaoyao, demanding retribution for her and Xu Xuan killing the Water Dragon. Bai Yaoyao admitted her fault and offered her life as penance.

As the Dragon King prepared to take her to the Dragon Palace, Xiao Xiang arrived, revealing that the Heavenly Emperor had summoned Bai Yaoyao and forbidding anyone from harming her. Bai Yaoyao, accepting her fate, told the Dragon King not to involve others in her mistakes. Xiao Xiang warned Bai Yaoyao that going to the Empyrean Heaven meant facing all punishments, but Bai Yaoyao declared she was unafraid and would bear the responsibility.

The Dragon King, though still mourning his lost Water Dragon, ultimately allowed Xiao Xiang to take Bai Yaoyao to the Heavenly Emperor. After Bai Yaoyao's departure, a distraught Xu Xuan was confronted by Xiao Qing, who was upset that he let Bai Yaoyao leave, especially with Fa Hai dying. Xu Xuan, despite his own pain, responded that he had no choice and focused on their duties.

He instructed Xiao Qing to have Xiao Hui lead some little demons to gather herbs in the hills. Xu Xuan himself led the disciples of the Apothecary House to save the people in Lin'an City and prevent a plague, while also ordering Duan Liu to lead disciples from Duan Yang School to deal with the corpses. He urged Xiao Qing to assist everyone as much as possible.

The Heavenly Emperor met Bai Yaoyao at Mount Li to protect her from the multitude of immortals demanding her punishment. Bai Yaoyao accepted any decree, but first requested that Fa Hai's life be saved. The Heavenly Emperor agreed to protect Fa Hai with his prowess, but questioned Bai Yaoyao's resolve to leave Xu Xuan, reminding her of their thousand-year destiny.

Bai Yaoyao asserted that true love wasn't just about being together, and she was leaving Xu Xuan so he could live a stable life, as even Xu Xuan, mighty as he was, could not defeat fate. The Heavenly Emperor accepted her decision and told her he had another task for her. Later, the Queen Mother summoned Bai Yaoyao, who felt deeply ashamed for the suffering she had caused.

The Queen Mother, having witnessed countless disasters over tens of thousands of years, explained that the current calamity wasn't entirely Bai Yaoyao's fault, as it was a destined disaster that fate had brought about through her. She warned Bai Yaoyao that the disaster had stirred her evil nature, and if her Demon Emperor body couldn't manage it, a catastrophe similar to the one ten thousand years ago could recur.

The Queen Mother emphasized that prowess couldn't undo what was already done and urged Bai Yaoyao not to forget her fearless and willful true self, even after experiencing all aspects of life. Bai Yaoyao understood and vowed to do her best to atone for her mistakes. The Heavenly Emperor had taken Fa Hai to Penglai Mountain for meditation and spiritual cultivation.

Fa Hai, however, was critical of the Heavenly Emperor's detached approach, accusing him of neglecting official affairs and abandoning the world's suffering by governing through inaction for thousands of years, which he believed led to the current turmoil. The Heavenly Emperor calmly responded that true cultivation could happen anywhere and suggested Fa Hai study scriptures instead, noting that Fa Hai's excessive emotions prevented him from seeing through the mortal world.

Bai Di complained to Qing Di about the Heavenly Emperor's actions, particularly his decision to bring Bai Yaoyao to Mount Li only to release her back to the mortal realm, instead of punishing her. He expressed frustration that the Heavenly Emperor seemed unconcerned, hiding away at Penglai while everyone sought explanations. Qing Di playfully feigned the Heavenly Emperor's arrival, causing Bai Di to instinctively bow in reverence before realizing he was being mocked.

Qing Di then questioned why Bai Di, being ancient and wise, was so grouchy, suggesting he stop being prejudiced and plan for the three realms. Bai Di sighed, admitting that he and Qing Di had no say in the Heavenly Emperor's enigmatic plans. Xu Jiao Rong was utterly distraught after losing her child and with Li Gong Fu missing. She blamed Bai Yaoyao for her suffering and angrily vented her frustrations on Xu Xuan, who silently endured her accusations.

Xu Xuan promised to find Li Gong Fu, dead or alive. Later, Li Gong Fu was successfully found and reunited with Xu Jiao Rong, thanks to the efforts of the little demons who were ordered by Bai Yaoyao to search for him. Li Gong Fu apologized for his absence and revealed that Xu Xuan had told him they might not be able to have children again.

Xu Jiao Rong, however, simply expressed relief that he was safe, stating that being together was enough. While the Heavenly Emperor used his immortal power to protect Fa Hai, Bai Yaoyao, seeing it as a temporary solution, enlisted Xiao Xiang's help to secretly remove Fa Hai from Penglai Mountain during the Heavenly Emperor's meditation. The Heavenly Emperor was shocked to discover Fa Hai's disappearance and Bai Yaoyao's cunning, as he was unable to trace her aura across the Three Realms.

Meanwhile, in Lin'an City, the little demons were actively helping residents rebuild their homes and reunite with lost family members. They even adopted a young child whose parents could not be found. This period of crisis fostered a new understanding and acceptance of demons among humans, replacing previous fear and resistance. As Lin'an City began to recover, the local government announced a celebratory event with fireworks.

Xu Xuan, recalling his promise to Bai Yaoyao to give her the grandest fireworks, instructed Qing Feng to arrange a spectacular display for that night, believing Bai Yaoyao would see it. Meanwhile, Xiao Xiang brought Fa Hai to the back mountain of Vanquishing Demon Palace, a place so dense with demon aura that neither the Heavenly Emperor nor any deity could trace them.

Fa Hai, believing this was his burial ground, was informed by Xiao Xiang that Bai Yaoyao intended to return his Fate of Alkaid to him there. Fa Hai vehemently opposed this, knowing it would cost Bai Yaoyao her life, and declared he didn't need her sacrifice.

Xiao Xiang argued that with Fa Hai's energy depleted, this was the only way, and also pointed out that Zhan Huang's move had put Xu Xuan in a difficult position, which Bai Yaoyao wanted to resolve. Bai Yaoyao, accepting her decision, asked Xiao Xiang to tell Xu Xuan that she could no longer wait for him.

While Xu Xuan prepared the fireworks in Lin'an, hoping to cheer up Bai Yaoyao and contemplating the difficult choice between her and Fa Hai, Bai Yaoyao was at the Vanquishing Demon Palace. She instructed Fa Hai that after he recovered, he must go to Bei Huang to find the Wind Up Herb for Xu Xuan. Taking this herb would make Xu Xuan lose his capacity for love, thus preventing any future disasters related to their relationship.

Fa Hai continued to protest, unwilling to accept her life as a sacrifice. Bai Yaoyao, however, expressed no regrets for her life, having experienced deep love with Xu Xuan. At this critical moment, Xiao Qing arrived, having anticipated Bai Yaoyao's plan due to her previous unusual behavior and prior knowledge from Zhan Huang about the "Fate of Alkaid" being integrated with the spiritual orb.

Zhan Huang had told Xiao Qing that forcing the spiritual orb out to separate the fate would cause the orb to shatter, but if Xiao Qing used her own spiritual orb to repair it, Bai Yaoyao's life could be saved, albeit still a life-for-a-life exchange. Xiao Qing, seeing Bai Yaoyao's senses fading as her fate was being lost, intervened.

She used her own spiritual orb to repair Bai Yaoyao's, sacrificing herself for her sister, fulfilling her role after Bai Yaoyao had always protected her. In a poignant moment, Xiao Qing shattered her own spiritual orb, asking Fa Hai to tell Bai Di that they were all wrong about her destiny; she was not fated to die by Fa Hai's hand but by her own.

Despite their clashing natures causing a burning pain when they touched, Fa Hai tightly held Xiao Qing's hand, his heart in greater agony. Xiao Qing wished for them to be an ordinary couple in their next life, a farmer and a weaver, free from being a demon and a demon slayer.
