Bai Yaoyao brought Xu Xuan to Penglai to detoxify him. She stayed by his side, feeding him medicine, cherishing this rare time together after their long separation. Xu Xuan was deeply concerned that the Command of Nature, which Bai Yaoyao now possessed, would attract trouble from both the Deity and Demon clans.

Bai Yaoyao, however, believed her acquisition of the Command of Nature was due to her passing through the Lotus Fire and that it was all part of the Heavenly Emperor's plan. Xu Xuan had cautioned her to keep the matter secret, but Bai Yaoyao later confided in Xiao Qing, who was thrilled at the prospect of Bai Yaoyao becoming the Demon Emperor.

Xu Xuan, despite still being poisoned, decided he must go to the Empyrean Heaven as soon as possible to have the Command of Nature removed from her. He then confronted the Heavenly Emperor, accusing him of using Bai Yaoyao to contend with Zhan Huang.

The Heavenly Emperor, in turn, blamed Xu Xuan, stating that Bai Yaoyao's current predicament was a direct result of her marriage to him; if she had cultivated for a thousand years at Mount Li, she would have long ago achieved godhood without such troubles. He further explained that if Bai Yaoyao had not endured the Lotus Fire for Xu Xuan, no one else in the world could have taken the Command of Nature from Zhan Huang.

Xu Xuan, unwavering, asserted he harbored no regrets and inquired if there was any method to remove the Command of Nature from Bai Yaoyao. The Heavenly Emperor responded by highlighting the ongoing conflict at West Lake, cautioning that Bai Yaoyao must not reveal the Command of Nature in the mortal realm if she desired a peaceful existence. Meanwhile, Zhan Huang confronted the Heavenly Emperor, accusing him of slyly orchestrating the theft of the Command of Nature.

Tian Di expressed his disappointment in Zhan Huang, regretting his initial hope that Zhan Huang might lead the Demon clan to peace. Zhan Huang retorted that his ambition was a direct consequence of Tian Di's own actions and that his wisdom surpassed the Heavenly Emperor's. Tian Di then revealed that he had already bestowed the Command of Nature upon Bai Yaoyao.

Zhan Huang, defiant, vowed he would never surrender and challenged Tian Di to face his Polaris Spell without the Command of Nature. News of Bai Yaoyao taking the Command of Nature from Zhan Huang quickly spread throughout the three realms. Zhan Huang adopted a detached, wait-and-see attitude, curious to observe how Xu Xuan and Bai Yaoyao would manage the unfolding situation. The Vine Demon, emboldened by Zhan Huang's perceived weakness, attempted to challenge him.

Zhan Huang easily dispatched the challenger, reminding all that despite losing the Command of Nature, he was still Zhan Huang and no demon possessed the power to defeat him. He was certain that Xu Xuan would eventually come for the Fate of Alkaid, which Zhan Huang held.

Xiao Xiang, leading a troop of Heavenly soldiers, intended to kill the Black Dragon, an act that would betray the agreement Xu Xuan had made with the dragon tribe and place Xu Xuan in a dishonorable light. Bai Yaoyao and Xiao Qing rushed to intervene but found themselves outmatched by Xiao Xiang's power. Bai Yaoyao was compelled to activate the Command of Nature to resist.

Xu Xuan arrived just in time, fiercely warning Xiao Xiang that he would not tolerate anyone harming Bai Yaoyao. Xu Xuan later spoke with the Green Emperor, admitting his repeated offenses against the Heavenly Emperor. He pledged that after the matter of fate was resolved, he would proceed to the Pole of Heaven and Earth, sever all emotional attachments, seal his five senses, and transform into a Heavenly Pillar for a thousand years to atone for his sins.

During the journey of the Heavenly Guards transporting Taotie to the Demon Prison, Taotie managed to injure his escorts and escape. Xu Xuan deduced that Taotie's greatest concern was the Dragon King and that he would be seeking answers about the Dragon King's final moments. To draw Taotie out, Xu Xuan publicly announced his presence at Mount Jiuxi.

Taotie, aware that it was a trap, nevertheless went to Mount Jiuxi, determined to reclaim the Dragon King's body and bring it back to the Eastern Sea. Unable to penetrate Mount Jiuxi's defenses on his own, he sought Zhan Huang's assistance, promising to help Zhan Huang meet Bai Yaoyao in exchange. Upon arriving at Mount Jiuxi, Taotie confronted Xu Xuan, admitting he knew of the trap but was there solely for his father.

Bai Yaoyao intervened, emphasizing Taotie's filial devotion and asking for his wish to be granted. The Green Emperor, recalling the Empyrean Heaven's initial mistake of identifying Taotie as Dubhe, which contributed to his current suffering, instructed Xu Xuan to hand over the Dragon King's relics to Taotie. He then commanded both Xu Xuan and Bai Yaoyao to escort Taotie to the Eastern Sea, thereby upholding the Dragon King's dignity.

Despite possessing the Dragon Pearl, Fa Hai's health continued to decline, and the White Emperor observed that without his original fate, Fa Hai would not survive much longer. Xiao Qing, gazing at Mount Kunlun from Mingxin Lake, wept for Fa Hai, her tears falling into the lake and seemingly onto Fa Hai's head. Fa Hai, nearing his end, perceived this as a hallucination, a sign of her constant presence.

Fa Hai later confided in Xu Xuan, acknowledging Xiao Qing's arrogant yet naive nature, and requested that Xu Xuan keep a watchful eye on her, explaining that his severe injuries prevented him from doing so and that as a demon slayer, Xiao Qing was "beyond his reach" for direct guidance. While studying ancient texts, Bai Yaoyao discovered that the Immortal, Demon, Dragon, and Human races were originally created as equals, without any inherent hierarchy.

Now, as the Demon Emperor, she resolved to embrace her responsibility to bridge the chasm between the Immortal and Demon clans. She conveyed this determination to Xu Xuan, admitting her initial fear but affirming her commitment to this new role. Xu Xuan and Bai Yaoyao escorted Taotie to the Eastern Sea.

Taotie opened the Dragon King's relics, which surprisingly contained the Dragon King's original form – a small, living creature that could fully recover after ten thousand years of cultivation in the Eastern Sea. Filled with remorse and unwilling to be indebted to the immortal clan, Taotie attempted to use his own demonized Dragon Pearl to revive his father. When this failed, he pleaded with Bai Yaoyao to use the Command of Nature to purify his Dragon Pearl. With Bai Yaoyao's powerful assistance, the Dragon King was successfully restored to life.
