The Heavenly Soldiers defending Mount Kunlun suffered immense casualties, and Xiao Xiang was gravely wounded by Zhan Huang. Zhan Huang, citing a past relationship, spared Xiao Xiang's life and urged him to rejoin the demon clan. However, Xiao Xiang, who had been healed and taught magic by the White Emperor after a severe injury from Zhan Huang, defiantly refused.

He vowed to hold Kunlun until the White Emperor's return, accusing Zhan Huang of lacking honor for attacking while their elder was absent. Zhan Huang dismissed his resistance, confident in his power and determination to turn the world upside down without serving the Empyrean Heaven. He then ordered a blood array, using the blood of Xiao Qing and Bai Yaoyao to shatter Kunlun's barrier. The Heavenly Soldiers were completely routed.

Bai Yaoyao confronted Zhan Huang, condemning him for sacrificing tens of thousands of innocent lives and turning a pure land into a bloodbath for the sake of victory. She predicted he would eventually be expelled from the three realms. Zhan Huang, surprised by her intense hatred, declared that if anyone could ever kill him, it would be her. His demon subordinates congratulated him on his long-awaited victory, acknowledging Tao Tie's significant contribution.

Zhan Huang promised them official positions upon their conquest of the Empyrean Heaven, proclaiming that the demon clan would now stand tall and no longer live at anyone's mercy. He savored his possession of Mount Kunlun, a place he had long desired. At Jiuxi Mountain, a wounded Xiao Xiang lamented his failure to protect Kunlun and the fallen Heavenly Soldiers. He attributed Kunlun's downfall primarily to Bai Yaoyao's blood, vowing to hold her and Xiao Qing accountable after his recovery.

Xu Xuan vehemently defended Bai Yaoyao, asserting that she had broken free from the demon clan's control and was innocent. He pledged to the Heavenly Emperor that he would reclaim Mount Kunlun, even if it cost him his life. Meanwhile, the Demon Emperor reveled in his conquest, noting how the mountain, long guarded by the White Emperor, had finally fallen into his hands. He began to demonize Mount Kunlun, transforming it with a demonic array.

The Heavenly Empress, observing the demonization and the breaching of the Empyrean Heaven's first gate, grieved for the war's casualties. She reaffirmed her impartial love for all beings in the three realms, continuing to nurture the small demons in the Peach Garden with celestial energy. The Bai Cao Immortal King intervened, emphasizing the necessity of victory and the critical roles of both Xu Xuan and Fa Hai. He presented a ten-thousand-year Deity Herb to heal Fa Hai. At Kunlun, Zhan Huang was informed that Xu Xuan and Fa Hai were stalled outside, seeking a way to break his demonic barrier. Zhan Huang publicly announced his intention to marry Bai Yaoyao, even setting a date and sending out invitations. She lamented her fate, especially after Qi Xiao had become Fa Hai, making her feel that she had not known true happiness since. Xiao Qing, having an idea, used her blood as a medium to break the barrier Zhan Huang himself had set around her dungeon.

Transforming into her original form, she escaped with Xiao Hui. Upon discovering their escape, Zhan Huang was astonished by Xiao Qing's unexpected ability and immediately ordered Kunlun Mountain sealed to recapture them. Outside Kunlun, Xu Xuan and Fa Hai discussed their next move. A celestial crane delivered news of the Demon Emperor's planned wedding to Bai Yaoyao. Overwhelmed with anxiety for his wife, Xu Xuan resolved to infiltrate Kunlun alone through a secret passage where a perennial ground fire burned.

He planned to extinguish this fire with the help of the Dragon King from the Eastern Sea, which would break Zhan Huang's barrier from within. He sent the celestial crane to seek the Dragon King's assistance while he prepared to enter. During their escape, Xiao Hui, afflicted by Zhan Huang's "Command of Nature" spell, began to suffer immense pain. Realizing he would be a burden, he selflessly stayed behind to distract their pursuers, allowing Xiao Qing to escape.

Xiao Hui was quickly recaptured and brought before Zhan Huang and Bai Yaoyao. Zhan Huang mocked him, questioning if Xiao Qing had abandoned him, and offered to spare his life if he could make Bai Yaoyao happy. Xiao Hui defiantly refused, stating that more demons would rather face the Lotus Fire than serve Zhan Huang. Zhan Huang then threatened to kill Xiao Hui in front of Bai Yaoyao.

To save Xiao Hui and prevent the forced marriage, Bai Yaoyao threatened to destroy her spiritual pearl, perishing with Kunlun's barrier. She reaffirmed her eternal marriage to Xu Xuan, whom she had vowed to be with for three lives, stating that even if her spirit were shattered, Xu Xuan would recollect and nurture her until they reunited. Faced with Bai Yaoyao's absolute defiance, Zhan Huang conceded, releasing Xiao Hui and granting Bai Yaoyao free movement within Kunlun.

Zhan Huang dispatched Tao Tie to hunt Xiao Qing. Tao Tie, experienced in battles with Xiao Qing, easily tracked her by her aura. Though her power was no match for Tao Tie's, Xiao Qing bravely used her blood to reactivate Kunlun's protective barrier, albeit for a fleeting moment. From outside Kunlun, Fa Hai witnessed the barrier's brief appearance and immediately deduced that either Bai Yaoyao or Xiao Qing was in peril.

Against his subordinate's advice to retreat, Fa Hai decided to enter Kunlun alone to investigate. Inside, Fa Hai confronted Tao Tie and rescued Xiao Qing. However, Xiao Qing refused to leave, insisting they face the danger together. Meanwhile, Zhan Huang anticipated Xu Xuan's plan to infiltrate via the ground fire secret passage and had already set an ambush with Vine Demon and Butterfly Vine. He informed Tao Tie of Xu Xuan's entry, knowing Xu Xuan was Tao Tie's sworn enemy.

As Xu Xuan navigated the passage with an atlas, he encountered the ambush. He quickly realized that Kunlun's earth veins had been merged with the demon clan by Zhan Huang, a move that depleted the celestial power of immortals while significantly boosting the demons' strength. Fa Hai, still fighting Tao Tie with Xiao Qing, found his powers rapidly waning. He questioned what Tao Tie had done, while Xiao Qing, surprisingly, felt her own power increase.

Fa Hai realized Zhan Huang's scheme: he had fused Kunlun's core with the demon clan, causing immortals to weaken and demons to grow stronger. Tao Tie gloated, informing Fa Hai that the current Kunlun was entirely different and that the blood of Fa Hai and Xiao Qing would make perfect sacrifices for the demon army.
