Bai Yaoyao, determined to break free from Zhan Huang's control, was prepared to endure the excruciating forty-nine Lotus Fire strikes. Xu Xuan, by her side, assured her of his unwavering support and promised that their master would help remove the mark. He expressed concern that the mark's recent flare-up was no accident, suspecting Zhan Huang's involvement and anticipating obstacles to its removal. The Green Emperor, having received orders from the Heavenly Emperor, pledged his assistance.

Meanwhile, Zhan Huang lured Fa Hai away from the Apothecary House, creating an opportunity for Taotie to wreak havoc, resulting in numerous casualties. Upon discovering the devastation, Xiao Qing mistakenly concluded that Leng Ning was responsible and rushed off to confront her. Qing Feng, observing Xiao Qing's hasty departure, misconstrued her actions, believing she had killed the disciples.

He reported this to Leng Ning, who, despite her dwindling powers, ordered the remaining disciples to evacuate, choosing to face Xiao Qing alone, considering the Apothecary House her last sanctuary. Taotie then confronted Leng Ning, recalling her past betrayals and reminding her that he would not let anyone who betrayed him go unpunished. With her powers nearly gone, Leng Ning was helpless against Taotie, who declared his intention to refine her into an elixir.

Xiao Qing arrived, realizing Taotie was the true culprit. Despite their past animosity, Xiao Qing refused to let Leng Ning die before their own grievances could be resolved, and she bravely saved the critically injured Leng Ning. During this time, Xiao Qing apologized to a barely conscious Leng Ning, acknowledging the little demons were only protecting Xu Xuan and lamenting her own past mistakes.

Elsewhere, Zhan Huang revealed his true identity as the Demon Emperor to Fa Hai, acknowledging that an event 20 years ago, under the Soul Collecting Light, had allowed him to regain his primordial spirit. He confessed to orchestrating Fa Hai's departure from the Apothecary House, claiming it was to provide Xiao Qing an opportunity for revenge against Leng Ning. Alarmed by these revelations, Fa Hai immediately returned to the Apothecary House.

Upon their arrival, Fa Hai, Xu Xuan, and Bai Yaoyao found Leng Ning on the verge of death. As Leng Ning drew her last breath, she faintly pointed towards Xiao Qing, seemingly confirming everyone's suspicion that Xiao Qing was her killer. Xiao Qing vehemently denied the accusation, insisting Taotie was responsible, but her explanations fell on deaf ears. Xu Xuan, however, suspected a deeper plot involving Taotie and Zhan Huang's pursuit of the Alkaid fate.

Believing Xiao Qing was reckless but not a liar, he reluctantly decided to temporarily let her bear the blame to uncover Zhan Huang's true intentions. He sternly rebuked Xiao Qing for her perceived cruelty. As Fa Hai prepared to take Xiao Qing to Mount Jin Temple, Zhan Huang dramatically intervened, asserting that no one could force her against her will and proclaiming his trust in her.

Bai Yaoyao recognized him as the Demon Emperor and accused him of treachery against Xu Xuan and Xiao Qing, refusing to obey his commands. Zhan Huang then forcibly whisked Xiao Qing away to his residence in Bei Huang. Once in Bei Huang, Zhan Huang tried to kiss Xiao Qing, but was startled to realize her aura was different from the person who had nourished his primordial spirit.

Confused, he wondered if the Kunlun Mirror had altered her essence or if he had been mistaken all along. He then ordered his subordinate Niyun to investigate what transpired 20 years ago by the West Lake when the Soul Collecting Light appeared. Xiao Qing defiantly rejected Zhan Huang, declaring she would never love him.

Zhan Huang then announced to the gathered demon clan his intention to conquer the Empyrean Heaven, starting with Mount Kunlun, and to establish demons as the rulers of the three realms.

Though many demons initially viewed this as a hopeless endeavor and were unwilling to cooperate, Zhan Huang enforced his will through the Command of Nature, causing unbearable pain and threatening death to those who defied him, thereby compelling them to obey and rally for the attack, viewing any casualties as necessary for this ultimate victory. Xiao Qing, however, remained unyielding, refusing to submit to his authority.

Back at the Apothecary House, Qing Feng and the remaining disciples mourned Leng Ning, vowing to avenge her death and not to let Xiao Qing go unpunished. Xu Xuan intervened, calming their fury and assuring them he would uncover the true culprit and punish all who harmed the Apothecary House, emphasizing that no act of framing would pass.

The Hundred Herb Immortal, saddened by Leng Ning's misguided path but acknowledging her final act of kindness, sensed foul play in her death. He dispatched his crane immortal to the mortal world to assist Xu Xuan in discovering the truth. Zhan Huang then issued a second "Command of Nature," causing Bai Yaoyao immense shoulder pain. Despite her suffering, she reaffirmed her unwavering loyalty to the Nine Heavens.

The White Emperor, recognizing the gravity of the situation, instructed Bai Yaoyao to comply with Zhan Huang's command and enter Bei Huang, the sacred land of demons, to gather intelligence on his plans. Xu Xuan, though concerned for Bai Yaoyao's safety and his inability to assist her within Bei Huang, understood the necessity. He deduced that Zhan Huang's seemingly erratic actions were all centered around Xiao Qing.

He realized that Xiao Qing's blood had previously seeped into the Kunlun Mirror, which sealed both Mount Kunlun and the Three Lakes of Moon. Xu Xuan concluded that Zhan Huang's true objective was to break the Water Dragon's seal, and therefore, for the greater good, Bai Yaoyao had to proceed into Bei Huang to unveil the Demon Emperor's ultimate scheme.
