> The Destiny of White Snake Recap

Xu Xuan (formerly Zi Xuan) and Qi Xiao (formerly Ling Chu) arrived at Mount Kunlun, intent on seeing White Emperor and borrowing the Kunlun Mirror. Qi Xiao, frustrated after their third unavailing visit, threatened to fight their way in, believing White Emperor was deliberately avoiding them. A Kunlun disciple explained that the White Emperor was traveling and his whereabouts were not to be disclosed to outsiders, per Mount Kunlun's rules.

Just then, Fairy Xiaoxiang, a Qilin of the demon race and another of White Emperor's disciples, appeared. She greeted them, observing how much they had changed over the past thousand years. Having ascended to deity status earlier than them after her own tribulations, she now refused to call them "Brother," asserting her elevated status. Fairy Xiaoxiang remarked on her own freedom from mortal entanglements, contrasting it with their ongoing path.

Xu Xuan and Qi Xiao acknowledged her ascension but noted that their "battle" was not yet complete. Fairy Xiaoxiang maintained that White Emperor was truly absent from Mount Kunlun. Accepting this, Xu Xuan and Qi Xiao decided to leave and return another time. It was later revealed that White Emperor had indeed been avoiding them, having summoned Fairy Xiaoxiang to specifically turn them away.

He reasoned that they had caused significant trouble after borrowing the Kunlun Mirror previously and were now asking for another valuable treasure so soon after. Meanwhile, after Xu Xuan's departure, a powerful spiritual aura had returned to the Fiery Grounds. Demon Emperor Tao Tie capitalized on this, using the abundant energy to cultivate and repair his shattered Myriad Manifestation Token. Bai Yaoyao ventured into the Fiery Grounds to investigate.

She noticed intricate words and meridian channels carved into the walls, realizing they depicted a demon's body. She pondered if these markings were connected to Leng Ning's demonization. Suddenly, Bai Yaoyao sensed a powerful aura, strong enough to resonate with her spiritual marble, reminiscent of the presence she felt in the Purple Bamboo Grove.

As Bai Yaoyao pursued the source of the aura, she discovered it had vanished into thin air, indicating the presence of someone far more powerful than herself. The Demon Emperor, having detected her pursuit, realized it wasn't yet time to reveal his identity to Xu Xuan. Knowing Bai Yaoyao was already aware of Leng Ning's role in the demonization of the imps, he decided to guide Bai Yaoyao further into his scheme by releasing a colorful butterfly to lead her.

Following the butterfly, Bai Yaoyao found it in the forest. Upon touching it, she was injured by its potent demonic energy. Believing it to be Leng Ning's creation, Bai Yaoyao was astonished by Leng Ning's greatly enhanced dark magic and wondered if she was now collaborating with Tao Tie. Realizing the poison's origin seemed linked to the Apothecary House, Bai Yaoyao decided to return there.

Elsewhere, the Cane Demon led Xiao Qing to Tao Tie, taunting her for neglecting her duties as Mountain Queen. Xiao Qing, demanding to know the whereabouts of Tao Tie and Leng Ning, was challenged by the Cane Demon to break the barrier of the Three Lakes of Moon. The Cane Demon further provoked Xiao Qing by mentioning her subordinates killed by Xu Xuan and suggesting Tao Tie could exact revenge for her.

When Xiao Qing arrived, she saw Xiao Hui and mistakenly believed he was being held captive by Tao Tie, intending to rescue him. Tao Tie, now having formed his physical body and believing no one in the three realms could take him down, revealed to Xiao Hui that he no longer needed to conceal their alliance. He commanded Xiao Hui to confess his years of loyalty and plotting against Xiao Qing.

Suspecting Xiao Hui's wavering allegiance, Tao Tie threatened him, accusing him of still considering Xiao Qing his true master. Xiao Hui, visibly distressed, pleaded with Tao Tie not to involve Xiao Qing. As Xiao Qing arrived, she immediately tried to rescue Xiao Hui, promising to save him from Tao Tie. Tao Tie mockingly urged Xiao Hui to reveal the truth of his loyalty, with the Cane Demon chiming in to confirm Xiao Hui's long-standing subservience to Tao Tie.

Xiao Qing pressed Xiao Hui, asking if Tao Tie was truly his master. Recalling how Xiao Hui had been unharmed during the blood moon while other imps were demonized, Xiao Qing realized the bitter truth of his long-standing betrayal. Xiao Hui, however, denied it. Infuriated, Tao Tie commanded Xiao Hui to kill Xiao Qing as a testament to his loyalty and to make them both suffer. Xiao Hui hesitated, unable to strike.

Tao Tie then personally inflicted a severe wound on Xiao Qing. Just as Xiao Qing was about to fall, Bai Yaoyao appeared, declaring that no one would harm Xiao Qing in her presence. Tao Tie, dismissing her threat by noting Xu Xuan's absence, ordered the Cane Demon to intercept Bai Yaoyao while he pursued Xiao Qing with Xiao Hui, intending for Xiao Hui to complete the kill. Bai Yaoyao, engaging the Cane Demon, urged Xiao Qing to flee.

Tao Tie eventually cornered the heavily injured Xiao Qing, taunting her as he placed a sword in Xiao Hui's trembling hand, forcibly guiding him to deliver the fatal blow. At that critical moment, Xu Xuan and Qi Xiao arrived. Recognizing he was no match for both of them, Tao Tie released Xiao Hui and declared he would spare Xiao Qing's life for now, promising to settle accounts another time before making his escape.

Qi Xiao swiftly brought the unconscious Xiao Qing to the Apothecary House. Xu Xuan examined her, assuring Qi Xiao she was largely unharmed, merely overcome by rage and that her wounds were nothing serious. Xu Xuan then provided medicine, which Qi Xiao meticulously applied to Xiao Qing's wounds himself. Xu Xuan observed the unusual number of colorful butterflies fluttering around the Apothecary House and, sensing Bai Yaoyao's presence, asked Qing Feng about them.

Qing Feng informed him that Bai Yaoyao had been there for several days, observing the butterflies to uncover the mystery behind them, despite Elder Brother Song's strict orders forbidding disciples from interacting with her. Xu Xuan, however, instructed Qing Feng not to tell Bai Yaoyao that he had been there. After Xiao Qing awoke, Bai Yaoyao sat with her, sensing her lingering sadness over Xiao Hui's betrayal.

Bai Yaoyao pointed out Qi Xiao's intense concern for Xiao Qing, suggesting he harbored feelings for her. Xiao Qing then sought Bai Yaoyao's advice on how to grow closer to Qi Xiao. Bai Yaoyao suggested they watch the stars together that night, describing it as a poetic and romantic gesture.

Xiao Qing asked if Xu Xuan had used similar tactics, to which Bai Yaoyao clarified that it was she who pursued Xu Xuan, a respected deity, while she was but a humble demon. Xiao Qing then revealed she had seen Xu Xuan when Bai Yaoyao was injured, acknowledging Bai Yaoyao's continued feelings for him, but stated that despite Xu Xuan saving her life, she wouldn't easily forgive him.

Bai Yaoyao gently urged Xiao Qing to let go of her resentment and treat Xu Xuan as she once did. Xiao Qing, finding their complicated relationship difficult to understand, still wondered why love couldn't be more straightforward. That night, Xiao Qing, seeking to connect with Qi Xiao, went to watch the stars. Qi Xiao, noticing her absence, searched for her and found her.

He gently advised her to leave with Bai Yaoyao once she was fully recovered, explaining he had important matters to attend to. Feeling that everyone was hiding things from her, Xiao Qing expressed her profound hurt and confusion over Xiao Hui's betrayal. Qi Xiao consoled her, highlighting his concern by admitting he had distracted guards to search for her immediately.

He reiterated that he and Xu Xuan had crucial tasks, namely locating White Emperor, whose continued absence was making the mortal world increasingly dangerous, especially with Tao Tie's growing power. He revealed their need for the Kunlun Mirror to combat Tao Tie. Xiao Qing then boldly offered to make White Emperor appear, but only if he allowed her to remain by his side.

Following her promise, Xiao Qing, disguised as a commoner, initiated her plan at the Temple of White Emperor. She publicly lamented White Emperor's unresponsiveness to prayers, claiming he had ignored her wishes for a son and instead blessed her "mother" with an eighteenth daughter, despite promises of a boy. She loudly urged the gathered villagers to abandon White Emperor's temple and seek blessings from the Green Emperor instead.

When news of this disruption reached White Emperor, his disciples reported that the worshippers were attempting to retrieve their offerings. White Emperor, however, dismissed the incident, confident that a "weak demon" could not cause lasting turmoil to his vast following across the realms. Back at the Apothecary House, Qi Xiao observed the unfolding events. He noted that Bai Yaoyao had conceived this ingenious plan, understanding both Xiao Qing's impulsive nature and White Emperor's character.

Xu Xuan then commented that they had found a helper the previous day, indicating further commotion was planned, and Qi Xiao expressed hope for positive news within the next couple of days, indicating the plan to draw out White Emperor was well underway.
