> The Destiny of White Snake Recap

The Demon Emperor, whose own "Dubhe" (Greedy Wolf) fate was incomplete, had originally intended to seize Xu Xuan's Seven Prowesses fate during the blood moon. However, his plan was unexpectedly thwarted, firstly because Taotie manipulated Leng Ning to demonize the little demons, and secondly due to the incompleteness of his own Greedy Wolf fate, preventing him from obtaining the Seven Prowesses fate.

The Demon Emperor’s "Dubhe" fate grants the power to devour heaven and earth, but it is destined to fall short at the final step due to its incompleteness. Realizing a crucial part of his fate is missing, he deduced that Xiao Qing, who once nurtured his primordial spirit, likely possesses this lost half. He understood that recovering it would place her life in grave peril.

Despite all they had sacrificed for each other, Yao Yao and Xu Xuan found themselves separated, a painful outcome that left Yao Yao questioning their destiny. She lamented the endless separations and wondered why their relationship had come to such a state, even recalling a ceramic figure Xu Xuan made to protect her, which seemed powerless against their suffering.

Yao Yao confessed to past transgressions, including trespassing the Garden of Heavenly Peaches, disobeying the White Emperor, and altering fate against Heaven's will, yet she now found herself unable to alleviate Xu Xuan's profound internal pain. She vehemently refused to accept this predetermined fate, asserting her disbelief. Xu Xuan, having successfully cultivated his deity body through meticulous planning, found himself unable to be with Yao Yao due to the tragic deaths of the little demons.

He felt utterly defeated by Taotie, acknowledging his own responsibility in the unfolding events. Qi Xiao, sensing Xu Xuan's agony, pointed out the immense pain of pushing away the very person he had strived so hard to protect. Xu Xuan admitted he understood this anguish. Qi Xiao then spoke of an impending storm, foreseeing a war between humans and demons, and believed that finding the complete "Fate of Dubhe" could restore balance.

Yet, he worried about Yao Yao, lamenting that the sacrifice of so many lives would be an immense sin, one that could never truly be redeemed. Upon returning to Mount Li, Yao Yao immersed herself in diligent cultivation. Her Master, the Holy Mother of Mount Li, however, observed that not only Yao Yao but also Xiao Qing had succumbed to mortal affections. Yao Yao, known for her strong convictions, seemed unwilling to passively accept her destiny.

She discussed the meaning of "the law" in cultivation—the fundamental rules of heaven and earth—and declared her foolish yet unwavering determination. She intended to prove Xu Xuan wrong and refused to accept Heavenly Laws that demanded the lives of young demons, even if the Heavenly Emperor himself could not revive them. Following the blood moon, Leng Ning vanished without a trace.

The Herb Deity, concerned for Leng Ning's safety, sought out the Green Emperor at Mount Jiuxi to borrow the Mirror of Ice. The Green Emperor was initially reluctant, reminding the Herb Deity of the havoc he caused with the Kunlun Mirror previously, but eventually conceded. Despite searching all three realms, the mirror failed to reveal Leng Ning's whereabouts, displaying only chaotic images.

After the Herb Deity used a spell to clarify the vision, they realized someone had intentionally concealed Leng Ning's location. The mirror then displayed the image of a Water Dragon, leading them to conclude that Taotie was using the Mirror of Ice to issue a challenge, suggesting he planned to break the Water Dragon's seal.

They speculated that Leng Ning was involved with Taotie, possibly being manipulated by him, and noted that her demon body had already formed, indicating her imminent transformation into a full demon, which would herald disaster. They feared Taotie might next attempt to awaken the Water Dragon. Meanwhile, the Demon Emperor, now fully regenerated, received a report that the Green Emperor and the Herb Deity had headed to Xu Xuan's location.

He tasked his subordinates to keep an eye on them and figure out Xu Xuan's true intentions. Later, in a meeting with his subordinates, he discussed Zi Xuan's five barriers, which were created with his primordial spirit a thousand years ago to keep the Water Dragon eternally hibernating. He specifically tasked his subordinate, Dieman, to follow Xu Xuan, believing that would lead them to the location of the last barrier.

He also instructed them to keep Leng Ning trapped, asserting her future usefulness. Another subordinate, Zhan Huang, voiced concerns, suggesting the Demon Emperor's regenerated body might be part of Xu Xuan's machinations and warned against jeopardizing their grand plan. The Demon Emperor, however, dismissed his worries, stating his personal matters were his own and that he would uncover any secrets Zhan Huang held.

In a desolate cave, Xiao Qing staged a phantom feast for the little demons, creating a lively illusion that quickly faded, leaving her alone, drinking and weeping. She called out to her lost companions, Xiao Hui, Xiao Lu, Little Sparrow, and Ah Fu, questioning why they had left her. Yao Yao, who had come to visit, found Xiao Qing distraught and tried to comfort her, offering for them to return to Mount Li to cultivate together.

Xiao Qing refused, explaining that most of her cave demons were either dead or scattered, but the few survivors still needed her protection. She also mentioned that Xiao Hui was still missing, making it impossible for her to abandon her home. Yao Yao urged Xiao Qing to regain her composure, become stronger through cultivation to protect her remaining demons, and not disappoint those who had died.

However, Xiao Qing accused Yao Yao of still defending Xu Xuan, whom she considered a murderer, and questioned if anyone was more important to her. Yao Yao asserted that both she and Xu Xuan would take responsibility for the deceased demons, but Xiao Qing insisted it was her sole duty as their Mountain Queen.

Yao Yao then suggested they investigate the true cause of the demons' deaths, reminding Xiao Qing that Leng Ning had used the "heart eater incense" at Lake of True Self, which not only attracted demons but also unsettled their minds. Yao Yao suspected this was the moment the demons were enticed into devilry. Understanding the implications, Xiao Qing vowed to find Leng Ning, even if it meant turning the world upside down.

Yao Yao warned her against acting recklessly, given that Leng Ning might have already fully transformed into a devil after the blood moon. Xiao Qing reaffirmed her resolve to make Leng Ning pay if she was indeed responsible. Yao Yao then suggested Xiao Qing stay at Mount Jin Temple while she continued her search for Leng Ning. Driven by her resolve, Xiao Qing went to Mount Jin Temple to find Qi Xiao.

After several days of fruitless searching and evasive young monks, she learned that Qi Xiao was meditating at Three Lakes of Moon. Upon finding him, she expressed her loneliness and the "stuffy" feeling she'd experienced in his absence, asking him to spend time with her. Qi Xiao, cold and distant, told her to seek comfort from Yao Yao and not to interrupt his meditation.

Xiao Qing accused him of becoming heartless from his monastic life, reminding him of his promise not to receive a tonsure. She declared she would wait with him. Later, Qi Xiao heard cries for help. Turning, he found Xiao Qing gone and followed the sound to a small, injured girl. As he cast a healing spell, the girl transformed into Xiao Qing, who revealed she had been testing him, proving he was not heartless.

She playfully chided him for his inconsistency regarding physical contact, arguing that he only applied strict monastic rules to her. Qi Xiao maintained that monks did not judge by appearance and urged her not to trifle with him. Xiao Qing retorted that his adherence was merely to Buddhist discipline, not true monkhood. She admitted that with most of her demons gone, she felt happy and secure only when she was with him.

Meanwhile, Yao Yao visited the Apothecary House in search of Leng Ning. Brother Song informed her that Leng Ning had left some time ago to enhance her medical skills and had not been heard from since, causing concern among the disciples. Yao Yao noticed a peculiar scent pervading the Apothecary House since Leng Ning's departure, a scent that attracted numerous colorful butterflies and made the disciples dizzy.

Following the butterflies, Yao Yao discovered an abundance of spider webs outside the herb garden. She recognized the poisonous threads as identical to those woven into her wedding dress, confirming they were crafted from Leng Ning's toxic essence. This revelation led Yao Yao to realize that Leng Ning was using these wicked methods to cultivate and enhance her powers.
