In essence, the Apothecary House owed its very existence to Zhan Arang's ancient wisdom. Yet, in Zhan Arang's current scheme, Xu Xuan, the current Lord of the Apothecary House, was an obstacle; he needed to be driven out to allow Zhan Arang to fully recover his powers. Seeing Leng Ning as a potential pawn, Zhan Arang decided to exploit the existing rivalries within the Apothecary House to achieve his goal.

Upon entering the dark and mysterious Fiery Grounds, a potent, unfamiliar demonic aura filled the air. Qi Xiao and Xiao Qing discovered several pigeon carcasses scattered on the ground, all drained of their blood. This horrifying sight confirmed their suspicions that a demon was indeed active within the Apothecary House. However, the demon's scent was distinct from Tao Tie's, leading them to believe that this new entity lurked in the deepest recesses of the Fiery Grounds.

As they continued their investigation, having broken through a magical barrier, Zhan Arang, from his hidden vantage point, sensed the presence of the snake tribe's aura, realizing that the person he had been seeking was finally drawing near.
