Swords of Legends Episode 50 Recap
> Swords of Legends Recap
Tu Su decided to embark on a perilous journey to Penglai to confront Shao Gong, taking Yin Qianshang and Lan Sheng with him. He firmly believed he had a method to deal with Shao Gong and, considering Reverend Zi Yin an immortal, refused to allow Reverend Zi Yin to further deplete his cultivation.
Lingyue and Fu Qu were tasked with remaining in Tianyong City to protect its inhabitants and the coastal common people, a duty Lingyue knew was paramount despite the great danger Tu Su faced. Fu Qu asked Lingyue about his return to Tianyong City to assume the role of sect leader after the crisis, to which Lingyue responded that if he became sect leader, Reverend Zi Yin's position would forever be reserved for Tu Su.
Tu Su entrusted his companion Ah Xiang to Lingyue's care and bid a solemn farewell to both Lingyue and Fu Qu. Fu Qu, though initially feeling a bit neglected watching Tu Su and Lingyue's intimate conversation, reminded Tu Su to return safely. Privately, Fu Qu expressed joy that Reverend Zi Yin had seemingly found a way to control Tu Su's malevolent aura and lifted his seal, allowing Tu Su to finally live freely.
Lingyue, however, knew the seal's removal endangered Tu Su's life but chose not to shatter Fu Qu's hopeful spirits. Xiang Ling, having been refused permission to join the expedition, ran off angrily despite her strong desire to go. Tu Su later found her and, displaying gentle "big brother" affection, successfully persuaded his "little sister" to stay behind happily, promising to return safely if she remained in Tianyong City.
Separately, Lan Sheng bid a difficult farewell to Xiang Ling, revealing his intention to propose to Yue Yan upon his safe return, explaining his resolve not to abandon his responsibilities for personal affections. With tears in her eyes, Xiang Ling felt Lan Sheng had matured while she remained immature, sensing he had grown beyond her. Lan Sheng, in turn, wished for Xiang Ling to remain as she was, finding growth too painful.
When Xiang Ling asked if he liked Yue Yan, Lan Sheng countered by asking if she liked him, but ultimately recoiled from hearing her answer, fearing it would undo his hard-won decision. Both departed with red-rimmed eyes. Lingyue worried about Lan Sheng's insufficient cultivation for the impending danger. Lan Sheng, however, declared his determination to help Tu Su defeat Shao Gong, even if it cost him his life, motivated by memories of Ru Qin's past care and his own immaturity.
Tu Su, upon hearing about Xiang Ling's tears from Lan Sheng, respected Lan Sheng's decision. Lan Sheng then comically suggested he should reincarnate as a woman in his next life, but quickly changed his mind to Ah Xiang after realizing the difficulties faced by women like Ru Qin, Qing Xue, and Xiang Ling. Lingyue cut short his rambling, reminding both Lan Sheng and Tu Su to return safely.
Meanwhile, Yin Qianshang and Xiang Tianxiao shared drinks, resolute in their decision to join the fight, while Yan Mei served them, grumbling. Tu Su spent some rare, leisurely time playing a tune for Qing Xue, as they talked intimately. The next morning, Tu Su arrived alone at the dock, only to find Lingyue and Fu Qu leading a group to send him off. Yin Qianshang and Lan Sheng also appeared, intent on joining him.
Xiang Tianxiao emerged from the ship and called them aboard. After boarding, Tu Su immediately sensed Qing Xue's presence, prompting her to sheepishly reveal herself. While Lan Sheng was momentarily relieved that Xiang Ling hadn't followed, both Tu Su and Qing Xue inadvertently exposed her hiding place, revealing she too had secretly boarded the ship.
Earlier, Xiang Ling had badgered Yan Mei to take her out to sea, and Yan Mei reluctantly allowed her to hide in the cabin, only to be further exasperated when Qing Xue also secretly stowed away. Xiang Ling and Qing Xue, forming an alliance, had hidden together, despite Tu Su and Lan Sheng's initial reluctance for them to come. Since they had come secretly, Tu Su and Lan Sheng were ultimately helpless.
After several days of travel, the group reached the Thunderous River, where the ship swayed violently. Yin Qianshang used his magic to transport Tu Su and the others across, leaving Xiang Tianxiao and Yan Mei on the ship as rearguard. They arrived at Penglai, which was already permeated with illusion magic. Shao Gong, sensing their arrival, decided to greet them in a "special way."
Tu Su and Qing Xue, familiar with Penglai, led the group, explaining the sights to Yin Qianshang and the others. Xiang Ling soon sensed a nearby demon presence – an illusion demon. Yin Qianshang deduced that the coastal location might indicate a mirage demon, specifically one that creates a "sea market mirage," and its illusion magic was named "Dark Clouds Galloping Thunder." Tu Su instructed everyone to rest while he and Lan Sheng scouted ahead, with Xiang Ling following them.
Qing Xue observed that Yin Qianshang was very weak, and learning he had previously taken Shao Gong's medicine or spiritual worm, she went to find him some water. After she left, Yin Qianshang suddenly felt unwell. Shao Gong then abruptly appeared, and Yin Qianshang, controlled by the mirage demon's illusion magic "Dark Clouds Galloping Thunder," attacked Qing Xue upon her return.
Qing Xue was abducted, leading her to realize that Shao Gong had been using Yin Qianshang all along, transforming the former Feng Guangmo into the unrestrained Yin Qianshang. Tu Su and the others, hearing Qing Xue's cry, rushed back but found no trace of her. Shao Gong's voice echoed, challenging Tu Su to come to his palace. Enraged, Tu Su's malevolent aura flared but he managed to control it just in time.
He gathered Lan Sheng and Xiang Ling, urging them to unite closely and follow him. Shao Gong had taken control of Yin Qianshang and imprisoned Qing Xue. He then unleashed illusion demons to evoke the inner demons of Tu Su's group. Qing Xue confronted Shao Gong, demanding to know what he had given Yin Qianshang. Shao Gong spoke of having saved Yin Qianshang, believing he had granted him a new life.
Qing Xue angrily accused Shao Gong of disregarding Yin Qianshang's loyalty and feelings for him. As Tu Su's group navigated the streets of Penglai, they encountered countless flying Scorching Souls, which then transformed into human forms. Ru Qin was among the first to appear, causing Lan Sheng to become lost in thought at the sight of her.
It became clear that Shao Gong, utilizing the Jade Crossbar to bear Prince Chang Qin's spiritual power, had brought all the Qin Chuan common people who had been transformed into Scorching Souls, including Ru Qin, to Penglai Island.
