Swords of Legends Episode 34 Recap
> Swords of Legends Recap
Qingxue accidentally touched a terracotta warrior's weapon, causing all the warriors to immediately shed their dirt forms and attack Tusuk and his companions. Lingyue fought the countless warriors, covering Tusuk's group so they could escape from the secret chamber and find the switch in the central tomb chamber for their ultimate escape. Lingyue remained behind to battle the Qin warriors, telling Tusuk through the door to find the switch that controlled the entire tomb.
Persuaded by his companions, Tusuk temporarily left Lingyue to find the mechanism. Everyone worried about Lingyue. Meanwhile, Shaogong, having arrived at a tomb chamber (or central coffin chamber) via a secret passage, used the Dragon Scepter Scale to awaken memories within the Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum. These memories recreated scenes of Qin Shi Huang seeking methods of immortality and resurrection, revealing that Yuheng could only attract spirits and not revive the dead.
Qin Shi Huang, in a fit of rage, smashed Yuheng. Shaogong, realizing Yuheng could not bring the dead back to life, was dismayed. Soon after, Lei Yan's disciples came to invite Shaogong. Shaogong later met Lei Yan at the tomb chamber containing the Bright Moon Pearl, where Lei Yan was already using the pearl to restore the Yuheng fragments. After its restoration, Lei Yan became even more arrogant.
During this time, Lei Yan sent people to bring Xun Fang, using her to threaten Shaogong into refining an elixir of immortality. Xun Fang pleaded with Lei Yan to let Shaogong rest, and Shaogong comforted her, assuring her he was fine. Shaogong was seen performing a spell with Yuheng. Tusuk's group, after reaching a fork in the road, followed Qingxue's spirit butterflies to the Sword Hiding Chamber (also referred to as the Sword Pavilion).
There, Tusuk's Sword of Burning Solitude activated the Qin swords, causing the large door to close. The imperial tomb's righteous energy suppressed the Sword of Burning Solitude's evil energy, causing Tusuk's evil energy to surge and backfire, strengthening dramatically. Following Hong Yu's advice, they searched for the Son of Heaven's Sword (also called the Head of a Hundred Swords), which commands all swords. Upon finding it, the door opened.
As they were about to leave, a sword spirit guarding the imperial tomb suddenly appeared, intent on eliminating them due to Tusuk carrying the Sword of Burning Solitude and their trespass. Hong Yu, herself a sword spirit, stayed behind to fight the guardian sword spirit, covering Tusuk and Qingxue's escape. While battling, Hong Yu was momentarily distracted, thinking of her master. Tusuk and Qingxue successfully escaped, but Tusuk's evil energy intensified further. Everyone worried about Hong Yu.
Tusuk and Qingxue then accidentally entered the Martyrdom Pit, where the Sword of Burning Solitude sensed the many vengeful spirits that immediately attacked them. Tusuk's evil energy worsened, forcing him to sit and suppress it. Qingxue released a protective shield over Tusuk and Lansheng. Lansheng, observing that all the skeletons' heads faced the same direction, ingeniously discovered and opened the mechanism.
Qingxue, however, had to remain behind to block the vengeful spirits, allowing Tusuk and Lansheng to leave the Martyrdom Pit first. She was left struggling fiercely with the spirits. Tusuk and Lansheng quickly rushed to the central tomb chamber to find the mechanism, talking as they went. Lansheng sought to help Tusuk understand the importance of accepting his friends' care, despite Tusuk's reluctance to burden them.
They acknowledged that Lingyue, Hong Yu, and Qingxue were all now individually blocked by mechanisms in secret chambers within the imperial tomb, making it crucial for Tusuk to find the central mechanism quickly to save everyone. Upon arriving at a relatively empty secret chamber they believed contained the master switch, Lansheng found an array. While searching for the array's core, Tusuk heard strange sounds.
Lansheng then remembered the mercury array controlling the entire imperial tomb, warning that any mistake would flood the tomb with mercury. At that moment, mercury indeed began to spread everywhere, surrounding and threatening both Tusuk and Lansheng.
