Lan Sheng, under house arrest, overheard his elder sister Ru Qin and Nanny Sun discussing his upcoming marriage to Sun Yueyan. Nanny Sun emphasized that the 8th was a good day for marriage, according to the almanac, and despite the rushed timing, they were making grand preparations. Lan Sheng vehemently refused, asserting that he would not marry her.

When Qingxue and Tusu came to bid him farewell before their journey, Lan Sheng tried to convince them to take him along, but they insisted he face his marriage. He continued to protest, accusing Qingxue of manipulating the marriage ball with her spiritual butterfly, and claiming Ru Qin and Sun Yueyan conspired against him.

Qingxue advised him to listen to Ru Qin and accept his fate, but Lan Sheng defiantly vowed not to give up, further strengthening his resolve to escape. Tusu, Qingxue, and Shao Gong prepared to embark on their journey to Jiangdu. Shao Gong had decided to leave Xun Fang in Qin Chuan due to her fragile health, planning to go with Tusu and Qingxue as originally planned. As they were about to depart, Xiang Ling suddenly appeared, pleading to join them.

Tusu, seeing her alone, agreed, much to Qingxue's dismay and jealousy. Lan Sheng, having overheard Ru Qin and Nanny Sun discussing his forced marriage, used a secret tunnel he had prepared to flee his room. He encountered Xiang Ling, who had also decided to follow Tusu's group. With the help of the Qingyu Sinan Pendant, Lan Sheng successfully caught up with Tusu, Qingxue, and Shao Gong. He was overjoyed to see Xiang Ling there.

The entire group, including Lan Sheng and Xiang Ling, then traveled to Jiangdu. Meanwhile, Xun Fang, who had recently reunited with Shao Gong, was still recovering and grappling with memory loss from the Peng Lai disaster. She vaguely remembered calling Shao Gong "husband" and questioned if they had been married. Shao Gong assured her that he could cure her illness and restore her memories, reiterating his unwavering devotion.

Ru Qin, silently saddened by Shao Gong's reunion with Xun Fang, confided in Lan Sheng that Shao Gong never truly had her in his heart. However, Lan Sheng believed Shao Gong deserved better, especially after witnessing Xun Fang's harsh treatment of Tong Yi and hearing her insults. Separately, Qingxue encountered Sun Yueyan, who expressed worries that Lan Sheng would resent her for the forced marriage, and also feared she might not survive her eighteenth year.

Qingxue reassured her that Ru Qin would help and encouraged her to take care of her health. A small black cat then appeared, and Qingxue kindly offered it fish using her magic. Moved by Qingxue's kindness, Sun Yueyan believed she would have good fortune. Ru Qin accidentally observed Xun Fang secretly meeting a mysterious black-clad man at night and immediately told Tong Yi.

Tong Yi confessed her own suspicions about Xun Fang's past and her unwillingness to share details with Shao Gong. Concerned, they decided to enlist Tusu and Qingxue's help to investigate. Tusu and Qingxue set up a watch. As they waited, Tusu, noticing Qingxue's fatigue, advised her to rest, but she insisted on staying. They chatted happily, reminiscing about childhood memories and stargazing, until Tusu's spiritual bell rang, signaling the mysterious man's arrival.

Tusu trapped him, revealing him to be the black cat demon, now known as Black Yao, whom Qingxue had kindly fed earlier. Xun Fang rushed to his defense, revealing that Black Yao had been her loyal companion, repaying her kindness for saving his life after he was injured by a Taoist priest. Black Yao then passionately recounted Xun Fang's hardships and poverty while searching for Shao Gong over the years, which deeply moved Shao Gong.

Ru Qin, realizing her error, apologized to Xun Fang for her suspicions, and Xun Fang, showing generosity, graciously forgave her. Despite Shao Gong's renewed plea for her to accompany him to Jiangdu, Xun Fang, citing her fragile health and exhaustion from traveling, opted to stay in Qin Chuan with Tong Yi, promising to wait for his return. As Tusu sent Black Yao away, Black Yao playfully proposed to Qingxue, but Tusu’s stern gaze quickly made him retreat.

Tusu, burdened by his fragmented childhood memories, confided in Shao Gong about them, including a vivid illusion of Wumeng Linggu he had seen in Anlu Village, which he still couldn't fully recall. Shao Gong suggested that these memories and the illusion might be linked to the "Ghost-faced Man," a notion Tusu agreed with, also feeling that the Ghost-faced Man would eventually come for them. Shao Gong then suggested they seek out Jin Niang in Jiangdu for further clues.

Back in Tianyong City, Lingyue returned and was informed by Fu Qu that Ling Duan had taken disciples to Qin Chuan to capture Tusu. As Lingyue and Fu Qu prepared to seek Hong Yu's help, they received an urgent summons from the sect leader to the main hall. Simultaneously, Ling Duan, having arrived in Qin Chuan, accidentally overheard Uncle Wu and Tea Xiaoguai discussing Tusu's departure for Jiangdu. Ling Duan smiled sinisterly, realizing Tusu's new destination.

In Jiangdu, Shao Gong arranged for everyone to settle down. He then intended to take Tusu to meet Jin Niang at Flower Manor to divine Tusu's past. Qingxue, Lan Sheng, and Xiang Ling, unaware of the nature of Flower Manor, insisted on accompanying them. Upon arrival, the group was immediately surrounded by courtesans, startling Lan Sheng, Qingxue, and Xiang Ling. Tusu, oblivious to the atmosphere, used magic to gently push the women away.

Shao Gong tried to negotiate to see Jin Niang but was refused. At that moment, Qingxue spotted a man who strikingly resembled her elder brother, Feng Guangmo, and eagerly pursued him. She encountered Black Yao, who was working at Flower Manor, and inquired about Jin Niang. Black Yao told her Jin Niang was away, suggesting Qingxue stay there. Tusu, however, immediately refused and took Qingxue away, much to Black Yao's annoyance.

Later, Qingxue held a video call with her mother, who urged her to bring Fanjie and Tusu back to Youdu. Qingxue promised to find a solution. Black Yao, having overheard her, offered to help her find her brother. After Qingxue described Feng Guangmo's appearance, Black Yao agreed to assist. Tusu, seeing Qingxue's sadness, tried to cheer her up. Qingxue expressed her longing for her brother and tentatively suggested Tusu accompany her back to Youdu.

Tusu, however, declined, unwilling to leave Shao Gong and violate Ziyin's instructions, leading to a small disagreement between them. Lan Sheng then excitedly arrived, informing them that Jin Niang had returned. Shao Gong then brought the group to meet Jin Niang, who surprisingly resembled Su Jin from Qingyutan. Jin Niang explained that she had been punished and expelled by Lei Yan and was now making a living at Flower Manor.

After a brief discussion, Shao Gong revealed his true purpose: to find the Jade Ornament and consult her on their fortunes. Xiang Ling sought information about her missing family, but without specific details, Jin Niang couldn't help. Qingxue asked about her brother, but Jin Niang's magic only revealed Qingxue's extraordinary nature, providing no further insight. Jin Niang, claiming she could only perform one divination per day, asked them to stay, raising Shao Gong’s suspicions, but he agreed.

Later, Qingxue and Tusu were bickering when they accidentally spotted a man strikingly resembling Qingxue's elder brother, drunk and soliciting a courtesan. They immediately pursued him but lost sight of him. Meanwhile, Jin Niang spoke with Shao Gong about his search for the Jade Ornament. Shao Gong proudly showed her the artifact. Jin Niang attempted to use it for a long time without success, eventually suggesting another divination in a few days.

Xiang Ling and Lan Sheng, who were staying with Tusu's group in Jiangdu, secretly eavesdropped on their conversation, bickering noisily among themselves. Qingxue, hoping to learn more, approached Huashang, the man's lover. Huashang suggested he might be at the casino. Qingxue and Tusu found the man being harassed by casino thugs over gambling debts. Qingxue helped him clear his debts. The man introduced himself as Yin Qianshang.

Qingxue, calling him "Brother," was deeply hurt when he claimed not to recognize her. Shao Gong then appeared, recognizing Yin Qianshang, and the group sat down to talk. Huashang served them as Shao Gong playfully teased Yin Qianshang and Qingxue. Yin Qianshang merely chuckled shyly. Shao Gong then introduced Yin Qianshang to Qingxue and Tusu, politely suggesting Qingxue might have mistaken him for someone else, further disheartening her.

Shao Gong again brought Tusu to Jin Niang, who agreed to divine Tusu's past. Jin Niang stated that Tusu's case was a bit difficult. Taking Tusu into a private room for a private divination, she instructed him to close his eyes. She then produced the Dragon Candle Scale and began her spell. Tusu started to recall fragmented past memories, involuntarily opening his eyes.
