> Swords of Legends Recap

At the Fang residence, Shao Gong discussed his philosophy on life with Aunt Tong, stating that the pursuit of immortality might be futile given life's brevity, yet admitting his own persistence keeps him going. He reassured Aunt Tong, who was concerned about her age and remaining time with him, that she would be with him for many days to come.

Ru Qin, demonstrating her care, brought midnight snacks for Shao Gong and Aunt Tong, despite Shao Gong’s reluctance to trouble her. She emphasized that since they were all like family, taking care of them was natural. Later, Shao Gong informed Tu Su and Qing Xue that he needed to gather a specific herb from the woods outside Qin Chuan for Aunt Tong's medicine and asked them to manage the medicine house in his absence.

Meanwhile, Qing Xue was diligently preparing a potent, bitter medicine using ancient Youdu methods, which included centipedes and scorpions, explaining that it was meant to suppress Tu Su's evil aura. Tu Su, aware of the medicine's unpleasant taste, still resolved to drink it to prevent his evil aura from harming anyone. Lan Sheng, ever curious, tried to taste the strange concoction but was stopped by Tu Su.

In a darker turn, a mysterious figure, later revealed as Li Pan An, discussed with a masked individual the power of pills created from a jade ornament. These pills, he claimed, could change one's appearance and vastly increase power, suggesting they test them on their subordinates. Back at the Fang residence, Ru Qin, deeply devoted to Shao Gong, learned from Aunt Tong about a zither Shao Gong once cherished.

Aunt Tong explained that to complete the zither, it required a "thousand-year ice silkworm" string, hinting that the person who found it would win Shao Gong's heart. Determined, Ru Qin resolved to find the rare string. She consulted Cha Xiao Guai, who, after checking his scrolls, directed her to Demigod Zhao in Mount Wu Ling, believed to possess the silk. Ru Qin journeyed to Mount Wu Ling, leaving her attendant Yu Er behind.

She found Demigod Zhao and explained her quest for the ice silkworm string for an important person. The demigod, bored with his solitude, challenged her to a game of chess: if she won, she would receive the silk; if she lost, she would stay with him. Ru Qin reluctantly accepted.

Unbeknownst to her, Cha Xiao Guai realized his grave error, rushing to Shao Gong to warn him that Demigod Zhao was not a benevolent celestial but a dangerous monster punished by heaven. Shao Gong immediately set off to rescue Ru Qin. He arrived just as Zhao reneged on his promise.

Shao Gong offered Demigod Zhao a "Dream Soul pill," claiming it could help him remember his lost wife and ease his pain, drawing a parallel to his own experiences of loss. Zhao, intrigued and seeing shared sorrow, accepted the pill and released Ru Qin. After the ordeal, Shao Gong confronted Ru Qin, firmly rejecting her romantic advances. He declared that his heart belonged to Xun Fang and that he would not seek a "new beginning" after her departure.

He reiterated that Ru Qin, like Aunt Tong, was family to him and urged her not to wait for him. Meanwhile, Tu Su and Qing Xue investigated the homes of recent victims, finding no immediate leads regarding the mysterious illness. They sought information from Cha Xiao Guai, who speculated that a masked individual was testing experimental drugs and was likely still in town observing the effects.

Later, Lan Sheng, still coming to terms with Xiang Ling's fox form, had a deeper conversation with her. Xiang Ling explained her need for spiritual energy to suppress her demon aura and her quest to find her family from Hong Ye Hu.

Enamored, Lan Sheng offered her a place to stay at his home and promised protection with his Qing Yu Si Nan Jade, though he asked her to hide from Ru Qin temporarily due to his sister's current sour mood. Lan Sheng later took Xiang Ling to eat, reassuring her of his commitment to help her find her family, citing their "destiny" from the Matchmaking Temple.

Shao Gong found Tu Su still diligently brewing Qing Xue's Youdu medicine, which Tu Su admitted had no apparent effect on his evil aura. Tu Su explained his persistence was to avoid worrying his friends. Tu Su then subtly questioned Shao Gong about his avoidance of Ru Qin. Shao Gong confessed his plan to leave Qin Chuan soon to continue his search for revival medicine, and Tu Su offered to accompany him.

Qing Xue also visited Yue Yan, a patient, and offered to introduce her to Shao Gong for treatment. Yue Yan, aware of Tu Su's condition, asked if Shao Gong could help him, and reminded Qing Xue that the full moon was approaching, prompting Qing Xue to rush off. During the full moon, Tu Su was overwhelmed by his evil aura, experiencing vivid flashbacks of Zhao Lin's death.

Qing Xue attempted to use Youdu magic to suppress it, but Tu Su, fearing he might harm her, pushed her away and locked himself in his room. Xiang Ling, witnessing Qing Xue's actions, misinterpreted them as an attack on Tu Su and intervened, fighting Qing Xue. The commotion drew Tu Su out, but he did not recognize Xiang Ling.

Ru Qin, alerted by the noise, arrived and became furious at Lan Sheng for bringing home a "random person" who had caused trouble and fought Qing Xue. Ru Qin chased Xiang Ling away, leading to a frustrated Lan Sheng also leaving the house. Qing Xue questioned Tu Su about Xiang Ling, but Tu Su claimed he did not remember her, suggesting she might be someone from his forgotten past.

Tu Su later explained to Qing Xue why he refused her help, stating that even his Master, Reverend Zi Yin, a powerful sword immortal, struggled to control his evil aura, and it would be too dangerous for Qing Xue to attempt. Lan Sheng complained to Shao Gong about Ru Qin's treatment of Xiang Ling.

Shao Gong reiterated his decision to leave Qin Chuan soon, explaining that he could not reciprocate Ru Qin's feelings and had to leave to avoid hurting her further. Qing Xue communicated with her Granny in Youdu, who urged her to bring Tu Su, whom she referred to as Yun Xi, back to Youdu immediately, as his evil aura was worsening.

Granny warned that only immense spiritual energy, like Reverend Zi Yin's, could safely suppress it and cautioned Qing Xue against overexerting herself. Despite the warnings, Qing Xue remained determined, believing she had found a way to help Tu Su. Seeking to prove himself, Lan Sheng decided to act alone, exposing a suspicious activity but ending up captured. Ah Xiang led Tu Su to a mysterious figure, who, after a brief encounter, was revealed to be Tu Su's Senior Brother, Lingyue.

They shared a joyful reunion. Lingyue then accompanied Tu Su back to the Fang residence, where he met Qing Xue and Shao Gong. Lingyue expressed his satisfaction that Tu Su was finally engaging in heroic deeds but insisted that Tu Su return to Tianyong City with him once the current matter was resolved. Tu Su remained silent, prompting Shao Gong to interject and suggest Lingyue stay at the Fang residence for the time being.

Later, sharing a room, Lingyue and Tu Su reminisced about their time in Tianyong City. Lingyue noted Tu Su's newfound openness, and Tu Su spoke of the kindness he had received in Qin Chuan, particularly mentioning the persistent Lan Sheng, making Lingyue keen to meet him. Lan Sheng awoke in a prison cell, meeting a fellow captive named Da Niu, who recounted being captured in his sleep and mentioned the Yunfan Stronghold (Fanyunzai).

Lan Sheng instantly realized Li Pan An was responsible and angrily cursed him. Li Pan An then appeared, revealing his intention to test medicines on them. Lan Sheng insulted Li Pan An's appearance and boasted that Shao Gong and his friends would rescue everyone, prompting Li Pan An to threaten Shao Gong. Ru Qin, worried about Lan Sheng, asked Tu Su if he had seen him.

Tu Su, introducing Lingyue to Ru Qin, then recalled Lan Sheng's earlier plan to catch thieves, which greatly alarmed Ru Qin. Li Pan An, while consulting a secret manual and holding a Yuheng-made pill, deliberated its reliability. When a subordinate suggested killing the noisy Lan Sheng, Li Pan An forbade it. To bolster his fearful subordinates against Shao Gong and Tu Su, he gave them the Yuheng pills, claiming they would significantly increase their power.

Shao Gong, Tu Su, Qing Xue, and Lingyue discussed Lan Sheng's disappearance. Uncle Wu reported that the twelve patients Shao Gong had treated previously were also missing. They concluded that Lan Sheng had stumbled upon the abductors. Learning that Lan Sheng possessed the Qing Yu Si Nan Jade, Lingyue offered to use Tianyong City magic to locate him and led the group to the Yunfan Stronghold.

Inside the stronghold's prison, Lan Sheng attempted to bribe a guard to send a message to Ru Qin, promising to help him find a wife. Their conversation was interrupted as the prisoners in Da Niu's cell suddenly mutated and broke free. The startled guard released Lan Sheng, who, protected by his Qing Yu Si Nan Jade, escaped as the mutated individuals rushed out of the stronghold. Upon reaching Yunfan Stronghold, Lingyue encountered and quickly subdued a mutated individual.

Shao Gong suggested they split into three teams to cover more ground. Lan Sheng, pursued by a horde of mutated creatures, was rescued by Lingyue, who used a powerful move to dispatch them. Tu Su and Qing Xue located Li Pan An, who had also mutated and gained immense power from the Yuheng pills, making him a formidable opponent.

Meanwhile, Shao Gong found the alchemy lab, where he used the Yuheng fragment to deal with the mutated individuals present before leaving. In the intense struggle, Li Pan An, having grown significantly in size, seized Qing Xue. Witnessing this, Tu Su's rage surged, and his evil aura took over, allowing him to swiftly defeat Li Pan An, but he then collapsed unconscious. In the aftermath, Shao Gong treated the unconscious Tu Su, reassuring Qing Xue that he would recover.

Lingyue dealt with the remaining mutated individuals. Shao Gong expressed regret that his antidote had failed to save them. Lan Sheng then gave Li Pan An's secret manual to Shao Gong. After reviewing it, Shao Gong explained the nature of the Yuheng fragment: its power to absorb spiritual energy and how Li Pan An had misused it to create flawed immortality pills, which instead caused the mutations. Back at the Fang residence, Ru Qin thanked Lingyue for his help.

Lingyue reiterated his intention to take Tu Su back to Tianyong City once he recovered. Lan Sheng insisted on joining them, prompting Lingyue to playfully call him "cute." This led to a brief argument between Lan Sheng and Ru Qin, ending with Ru Qin grounding Lan Sheng for a month, much to Lingyue's amusement. Lan Sheng persisted in trying to convince Lingyue to let him come to Tianyong City, but Lingyue gently refused, citing Ru Qin's disapproval.

Meanwhile, at Tianyong City, Fu Qu longed for Lingyue. Ling Duan tried to cheer her up with hawthorns and subtly tried to extract information about Lingyue's whereabouts, but Fu Qu became annoyed when he spoke ill of Lingyue and Tu Su, and she left abruptly. Shao Gong brought Tu Su medicine prepared by Qing Xue.

Shao Gong playfully teased Tu Su about his feelings for Qing Xue, but Tu Su clarified their relationship was merely one of friendship and expressed his intention to return to Tianyong City with Lingyue soon. Sensing Tu Su's inner reluctance to leave Qing Xue and himself, Shao Gong subtly encouraged him to speak to Lingyue about his true desires. Tu Su approached Lingyue, who confirmed their departure for the following day. Gathering his courage, Tu Su expressed his wish to remain in Qin Chuan, but Lingyue firmly insisted on his return, invoking their Master, Zi Yin, to settle the matter.
