> Swords of Legends Recap

Li Pan An, grappling with mysterious powers, reflected on why he couldn't harness the celestial energy from a jade like rock demons and wondered if taking a human life was necessary to unlock its potential. In Qin Chuan, Ru Qin visited Ouyang Shao Gong's home and successfully persuaded Aunt Tong to move into the Fang family residence, an offer Shao Gong also supported.

During this visit, Aunt Tong revealed she was carving a zither for Shao Gong from rare Woo Tho wood, a project deeply personal to her, though she lamented not having "Thousand Year Silk" for its strings. Shao Gong expressed concern for Aunt Tong's health, calling her his only family, while Aunt Tong noted that his return to Qin Chuan would finally allow her to rest.

She recalled Ru Qin and Lan Sheng's childhood personalities, prompting Shao Gong to agree that Ru Qin was always caring and Lan Sheng lively. He remarked that Aunt Tong and Ru Qin shared a similar selfless nature. Secretly, Xiang Ling infiltrated the Fang family residence. Lan Sheng discovered and recognized her. Blocked by a barrier, Xiang Ling couldn't enter, but Lan Sheng, mistaking her hesitation for shyness, tried to scare her. Instinctively, Xiang Ling knocked him unconscious.

The next morning, Qing Xue woke Lan Sheng, who excitedly recounted meeting a "little fairy" last night. Qing Xue teased him, and after some playful banter, Lan Sheng left abruptly. Knowing Tu Su was still troubled by the Tian Yong City incident, Qing Xue discussed sending a message to Ling Yue, and Tu Su agreed. Qing Xue then released a spirit butterfly. The spirit butterfly reached Tian Yong City, informing Ling Yue of Tu Su's whereabouts.

Ling Yue told Fu Qu he would go to Qin Chuan to bring Tu Su back, having analyzed the case of Zhao Lin's death and deduced its cause. Ling Yue instructed Fu Qu to stay behind in Tian Yong City to hold off the Sect Master, while he secretly descended the mountain to bring Tu Su back. The Fang family's medical clinic gained popularity, offering free consultations and medicine, with Shao Gong's medical skills being widely praised.

Shao Gong conducted diagnoses while Tu Su and Qing Xue assisted with dispensing medicine. Xiang Ling, mingling with patients, feigned illness to attract Tu Su's attention. Qing Xue, however, recognized her and told her not to cause trouble. Lan Sheng then appeared, pestering Xiang Ling, who fled. Lan Sheng chased her to Tea Xiaoguai's tea stall, where Tea Xiaoguai commented on his demonic aura. Lan Sheng, confident in his Azure Jade Compass Pendant, dismissed the warning and left.

Later, Xiang Ling attempted to trick Tea Xiaoguai with fake gold leaves, which were immediately exposed. She then revealed a treasure and asked Tea Xiaoguai how to remove her demonic aura. Tea Xiaoguai revealed the Azure Jade Compass Pendant could suppress it, leading Xiang Ling to target Lan Sheng's pendant. Xiang Ling found Lan Sheng and requested to borrow the pendant. Lan Sheng stated it was a vital family heirloom and he needed to consult Ru Qin.

Overjoyed, Lan Sheng obtained Xiang Ling's name and address. Ru Qin, however, firmly refused to allow Lan Sheng to lend out the pendant. Lan Sheng, frustrated, complained about wanting to eat. Tu Su and Qing Xue then returned. Tu Su informed Ru Qin that Shao Gong was still busy and she needn't wait for him, so Ru Qin proceeded to prepare dinner. Aunt Tong assisted Shao Gong at the clinic, and Shao Gong advised her not to overwork.

Upon their return to the Fang family home, Ru Qin attentively inquired if they had eaten. Aunt Tong retired to her room, leaving Shao Gong and Ru Qin to converse. Shao Gong explicitly stated that he regarded Ru Qin and Lan Sheng as his own younger siblings. Ru Qin, in turn, reaffirmed her unwavering determination to wait for someone and then sadly departed.

Shao Gong then left to find an herb for Aunt Tong, leaving Tu Su and Qing Xue behind. Qing Xue secretly brewed a mysterious medicine using ancient Youdu methods, not revealing its contents to Tu Su. Lan Sheng arrived at his meeting spot with Xiang Ling. Learning he hadn't secured Ru Qin's permission, Xiang Ling attempted to forcibly snatch the Azure Jade Compass Pendant from him but was repelled and left in a huff.

Qing Xue later gave Tu Su the medicine, explaining it was to suppress his demonic energy, which flared up on full moon nights. Lan Sheng, curious, eagerly drank the entire concoction, only to vomit it all out upon learning it was made from centipedes and scorpions. Meanwhile, a ghost-faced man persuaded Li Pan An to consume a face-changing pill, which Li Pan An subsequently took. Ru Qin brought clothes to Aunt Tong and Shao Gong, showing deep care.

She discovered Aunt Tong making a zither and learned of her regret at not having "Thousand Year Ice Silkworm Silk" for its strings, with Aunt Tong hinting that whoever found suitable strings might win Shao Gong's heart. Ru Qin declared she would find them. She visited Tea Xiaoguai's shop to inquire about the silk, and Tea Xiaoguai found ancient texts suggesting a Flood Dragon Immortal might possess it.

However, he cautioned that the information was uncertain and advised Ru Qin to wait for verification. Ru Qin disregarded his advice and determinedly set off. Her maid sprained an ankle and couldn't accompany her, so Ru Qin ventured alone to the Flood Dragon Immortal's residence. There, she found a chessboard, and the Flood Dragon Immortal, a dashing young man, appeared.

He proposed a game of chess: if Ru Qin won, she would get the silk; if she lost, she would stay with him. To obtain the silk, Ru Qin accepted. Meanwhile, Tea Xiaoguai rushed to the Fang family home to inform Shao Gong of the situation, warning him that the Flood Dragon Immortal was a dangerous cannibal. The Flood Dragon Immortal ultimately lost the chess game to Ru Qin and, in a fit of rage, seized her.

Shao Gong arrived just in time to rescue her. The immortal, discontent with being punished by heaven, was offered a Dream Soul Pill by Shao Gong to help him recall his wife, in exchange for Ru Qin's release. The Flood Dragon Immortal took the pill, consumed it, and returned to the lake as desired. Shao Gong successfully rescued Ru Qin.

Ru Qin offered him the ice silkworm silk, but Shao Gong confessed he already had someone in his heart and asked her not to wait for him. Ru Qin, though heartbroken, accepted this and insisted Shao Gong keep the silk. Shao Gong later confronted Aunt Tong, questioning if she had told Ru Qin about the silkworm silk. Aunt Tong advised him that if he worried about Ru Qin, he should simply accept her.

Shao Gong reiterated his deep devotion to Xun Fang and angrily told Aunt Tong not to add to his troubles, then stormed off. Lan Sheng continued searching for Xiang Ling, who still coveted his Azure Jade Compass Pendant and actively tried to seduce him. Lan Sheng brought Xiang Ling home for dinner and asked for her address.

Xiang Ling, however, only disclosed that she lived by Red Leaf Lake and claimed she was in Qin Chuan to find relatives, falsely stating she needed to borrow the Azure Jade Compass Pendant for this purpose. Lan Sheng allowed her to stay at their home, planning to introduce her to Ru Qin when Ru Qin was in a better mood. Tu Su was seen brewing medicine.

Shao Gong joined him and learned that Qing Xue had prepared it to suppress Tu Su's demonic energy flare-ups. Tu Su expressed his determination to continue drinking the bitter medicine, not wanting to cause worry. The two friends chatted, and Tu Su asked Shao Gong about his future intentions. Shao Gong revealed his plan to leave Qin Chuan, and Tu Su promptly decided to accompany him.

Qing Xue visited Sun Yue Yan, bringing her a tonic and mentioning Shao Gong's return as a potential cure for her illness. Yue Yan's nanny, however, was not optimistic about Shao Gong's abilities. Yue Yan then mentioned that it was the night of the full moon, prompting Qing Xue to immediately excuse herself and rush back to Tu Su. As expected, Tu Su's demonic energy flared up.

Qing Xue returned and called out to him, but the irrational Tu Su, under the influence of the energy, seized her by the throat. Ru Qin, having overheard part of the conversation between Aunt Tong and Shao Gong, then engaged with Lan Sheng, who was practicing "Laoshan skills" to protect her from a local rapist. Ru Qin dismissed his efforts as useless and urged him to be more responsible, like Tu Su, who actively helped catch thieves.

She then announced her plan to visit the Yue Lao temple (matchmaking deity) and insisted Lan Sheng accompany her, not for his own matches, but to ensure he would find a wife and continue the family lineage. Lan Sheng protested, but Ru Qin insisted. He then playfully suggested Ru Qin should pray for Shao Gong to return and marry her, which upset her.

Lan Sheng quickly apologized, promising to join her and assuring her that the deity would bring Shao Gong back. Meanwhile, Tu Su and Qing Xue were also investigating the rapist, who was believed to possess the ability to change his appearance. Qing Xue suggested they question a "flower servant" for leads. Lan Sheng, interrupting their discussion, invited them to join him and Ru Qin at the temple.

Qing Xue then explained to someone their strategy to lure the rapist out at the temple, where many girls would gather, and asked for help in delivering flowers as a cover for their investigation. Separately, Sun Yue Yan expressed her deep desire to see Lan Sheng at the temple before her eighteenth birthday, fearing an impending misfortune. She wished to give him a scented sachet.

To evade her nanny's vigilant watch, Yue Yan cleverly feigned a craving for a specific snack from Huan Xi town, prompting her nanny to leave and search for it, allowing Yue Yan to slip away. At the Yue Lao temple, Lan Sheng accidentally hit Yue Yan with a ribbon he threw for good luck. Qing Xue, having gone to find Tu Su, later took Yue Yan to rest, allowing Ru Qin to wait for Lan Sheng.

Qing Xue silently prayed to the Old Grandfather of the Moon, seeking protection for Tu Su from the evil force of the Sword of Burning Solitude. Yue Yan was eventually found by her attendants and escorted back home, but not before entrusting Qing Xue with the scented sachet for Lan Sheng. Tu Su and Qing Xue later discussed their failure to find the rapist.

Qing Xue, still annoyed with Lan Sheng, refused to deliver the sachet from Yue Yan, instead giving it to Tu Su and saying she didn't want to talk to Lan Sheng. Lan Sheng, encountering Tu Su, complained about the uncaptured rapist and asked if the sachet was for him. He boasted about meeting a "little fairy" at the temple, believing her to be his fated love.

Qing Xue corrected him, identifying the "fairy" as Sun Yue Yan and confirming the sachet was from her, adding that Yue Yan had liked him for a long time and was ill. Lan Sheng, unfamiliar with Yue Yan, questioned her appearance and health, further irritating Qing Xue, who then scolded him and left. Lan Sheng soon realized Ru Qin had also left without him.

Later, Lan Sheng questioned Tu Su and Shao Gong about Ru Qin's whereabouts, eventually finding her abandoned carriage. Shao Gong confirmed it was Ru Qin's, and they deduced she had been kidnapped. Examining an orchid at the scene, Shao Gong identified its potent fragrance as a hallucinogenic drug, explaining how the rapist caused his victims to faint. He suspected the orchid, which grows on Zhi Fong Mountain, might have been stolen from Miss Sun's (Yue Yan's) house.

Shao Gong concluded that the rapist had accomplices, as Tu Su was led away while Ru Qin was abducted, and suggested Zhi Fong Mountain as a potential hideout. An informant then reported a Jiang Hu hideout called Fan Yun Jai on Zhi Fong Mountain. Shao Gong, however, urged caution, noting the mountain's dangers and the hideout's elusiveness.

Tu Su proposed that he and Shao Gong go to rescue Ru Qin, with Lan Sheng and Qing Xue staying to receive updates via a "spirited butterfly." Lan Sheng, however, insisted on joining the rescue mission. Shao Gong agreed, telling Qing Xue to stay behind and use the butterfly for communication. Shao Gong apologized to Tu Su for involving him in trouble so soon after their reunion, but Tu Su affirmed their brotherhood.

Shao Gong summoned "Ah Xiang," a spirited bird, explaining it knew Ru Qin and could track her, having been fed by her in the past. Lan Sheng, Tu Su, and Shao Gong then headed to Zhi Fong Mountain. Ah Xiang successfully located Fan Yun Jai. Shao Gong and Tu Su decided against a direct assault to avoid alerting the kidnappers and instead planned to infiltrate for information.

Shao Gong suggested Lan Sheng disguise himself as a girl, citing his "man's body with a girl's face" as an advantage. They gave him a dress intended for Ru Qin from Aunt Tong. Lan Sheng protested, asking why Tu Su, the "Wooden Face," couldn't go instead. Shao Gong emphasized the strategic benefit of a female disguise for snooping, and Tu Su agreed that Lan Sheng looked good in it.

Lan Sheng, in disguise, approached Fan Yun Jai with Tu Su and Shao Gong posing as his brothers. He told the guards they sought the den's renowned doctor to treat his "sick second brother" (Tu Su) and offered their service in return. The guards, impressed by Lan Sheng's beauty and aware of their Gang Lord's desire for a wife, granted them entry, mentioning the Gang Lord's wedding that night. Inside, Lan Sheng overheard more about the wedding.

Furious that the rapist might marry his sister, he was hushed by Shao Gong, who stressed the need for calm and locating Ru Qin without alerting their captors. Shao Gong noticed two maids carrying a bridal gown towards the west and sent Lan Sheng to investigate. Lan Sheng found Ru Qin defiantly rejecting her captors, yelling at them to leave. Ru Qin immediately recognized Lan Sheng despite his disguise.

Lan Sheng, relieved she was unharmed, confirmed that Shao Gong and Tu Su were also there. Shao Gong arrived and checked on Ru Qin. Tu Su declared his intent to capture the rapist, not only for Ru Qin but for Uncle Wu and other victims. Shao Gong, however, insisted they all leave together, citing the rapist's use of poison and their lack of martial arts skills. He refused to leave Tu Su alone to face the danger.

Tu Su suggested they escape and then return with the sheriffs, a plan Lan Sheng reluctantly accepted due to his concern for Ru Qin. Just then, the Gang Lord, Li Pan An, entered the room. Lan Sheng, attempting to play the matchmaker, praised Li Pan An's handsomeness to Ru Qin, to which Li Pan An seemed confused about a "girl" he had supposedly sent. Li Pan An then dismissed his subordinates, wanting to speak with Ru Qin alone.

He asked her why she refused to marry him, arguing that she was the only one who hadn't judged him by his ugly appearance. He recounted his miserable past, how his parents had disowned him for his looks, and how he had been scorned by society's heroes. He confessed to only drugging other women to see if they would accept his true face, but only Ru Qin hadn't been frightened or hateful.

Ru Qin, however, firmly stated that despite not judging by appearance, she would not like him. Li Pan An then revealed his knowledge of Ru Qin's enduring wait for Ouyang Shao Gong, who had been gone for over ten years, and urged her to give up on him. He promised to treat her well, even abandoning his life as a thief to return to Qin Chuan and become a flower grower. He also mentioned developing a face-changing drug and implored her to marry him.
