Mowgli firmly told her that true love is pure and cannot be shared. He argued that if Ling Yu truly cared for her, he wouldn't have weighed his options or made her wait so long. Mowgli suggested Ling Yu was still holding onto other things.
Chu Shi acknowledged Mowgli’s wisdom, wiping her tears and promising to cheer up. She expressed her fear of never finding someone she loved as much again, but Mowgli reassured her, saying she would, and that he, along with her two "silly sisters," would always be there for her. Meanwhile, at Wharf, Zheng Li and Bai Yiling faced a setback with a partner for the Senmu project and turned to Chi Xu.
Mr. Ling and Mr. Zheng, company founders, reflected on their two decades in business. Mr. Ling, feeling middle-aged, expressed a desire to reach new heights. Zheng Li then apologized for a delay caused by a previous post-production team, taking full responsibility. Ling Yu stepped in, explaining that he had resolved the issue with the client by offering a discounted rate for the next quarter, which ultimately protected the company's long-term interests.
Impressed by Ling Yu’s handling of the situation, Mr. Ling announced his plan to gradually retire and hand over the company, tasking Ling Yu with the Senmu project. After his father left, Ling Yu questioned if the promotion was due to his abilities or Gao Jie’s influence. Mr. Ling admitted that connections are a form of capability and that Gao Jie had strongly recommended him to Gao's Group.
Later, Ling Yu met privately with Chi Xu, who gloated about their successful scheme to cause the previous company to default, allowing Chi Xu’s team to secure the Senmu post-production work and gain the company’s full trust. Ling Yu, however, told Chi Xu not to get too comfortable and promised to find him another opportunity when the time was right. During the Senmu project’s three-party meeting, Ling Yu entered to find Gao Jie and Mowgli already there.
Zheng Li introduced Gao Jie as the representative from Gao's Group and Mowgli as a consultant for Mozi Capital, both involved in marketing and planning. Gao Jie, acting overly affectionate towards Ling Yu, made Mowgli visibly uncomfortable. Mowgli subtly remarked that one should not be absent-minded, to which Ling Yu replied that he would focus entirely on work. Ling Yu eventually sat by Gao Jie, seemingly coerced by her public display of intimacy.
After the meeting, Ling Yu and Mowgli shared an elevator. Ling Yu told Mowgli to inform Chu Shi not to wait for him anymore. Mowgli, angered by Ling Yu's words and actions, punched him, warning him to commit to his chosen path and leave Chu Shi alone. Ling Yu retorted, insulting Mowgli as a "young man from the forest" with no background or status, claiming Mowgli was also relying on a woman to rise, just as he was.
Mowgli sharply told Ling Yu not to compare him to a "scum" like himself. Ling Yu attempted to retaliate, but East Sea, who was waiting nearby, intervened, stopping the fight and chastising Ling Yu for fighting dirty. Mowgli thanked East Sea, giving him his business card and explaining his name was changed. Later, Ling Yu was confronted by loan sharks at his company, who aggressively demanded their money. East Sea, witnessing the scene, stepped in to help. He reprimanded Ling Yu for borrowing from loan sharks, warning of a bottomless pit of debt. Ling Yu, unaware of East Sea's identity, angrily questioned who he was. Mr. Zheng then appeared, drawing Ling Yu away and allowing East Sea to discreetly leave.
Mr. Zheng offered to take East Sea to the airport, but East Sea changed his mind, deciding to stay longer to move his mother's tomb as a form of long-overdue filial piety. Mowgli assured them he had arranged the crane and wire, asking them to assist with the car and flowers.

Ling Xi admitted her studio was newly established with no awards, but pitched their platform as an opportunity for Dora to connect with a new generation of consumers (80s-00s born) and regain that early, pioneering spirit.
Dora remained impassive but eventually handed Ling Xi her business card, telling her to contact her if necessary. Following Tang Cheng’s advice that Ling Xi deeply cared for her father’s approval, Mowgli visited Ling Xi’s parents alone. He informed Ling’s mother and father of his intention to propose to Ling Xi.
