Moonlight Episode 4 Recap
> Moonlight Recap
Zhou Chuan was in a bad mood and wanted to drink. Chu Li grabbed the alcohol and ran off. He had a cold and couldn't drink, which left Zhou Chuan not knowing whether to laugh or cry. After Zhou Guxuan returned home, he complained that Zhou Chuan was a nemesis. His mother knew they must have argued. Zhou Guxuan felt that the cultivation and fantasy Zhou Chuan wrote were meaningless.
Lao Miao assigned Du Niaoniao to be in charge of the third review process. Once it was handed over to her, the book would have nothing to do with Chu Li. Lao Miao said this was a decision he had made after careful consideration, and such an important book could not be entrusted to Chu Li. Yu Yao also decided to follow Lao Miao's idea, leaving Chu Li feeling a bit wronged.
Chu Li went to Yu Yao wanting to fight for it, but Yu Yao reminded her that Lao Miao was her direct superior and what Chu Li needed to do was find a way to get Lao Miao to recognize her work ability, hoping she wouldn't disappoint her. Despite saying this, Chu Li was still inevitably disappointed; everyone's bitterness could only be silently swallowed down by themselves. After returning home depressed, Fox Jun came to chat with her.
Chu Li was in a bad mood because of the day's events and had no appetite. Fox Jun sent a voice message. Zhou Chuan deliberately disguised his voice. Chu Li complained that a contract she had worked so hard to sign was being handed over to someone else, feeling very sad inside. Er Gou barked, and Zhou Chuan quickly changed the subject, saying that Yuan Yue Publishing House doing this meant they didn't want to collaborate with him.
But Chu Li felt that even if Zhou Chuan knew, he wouldn't help her. A Xiang also advised Chu Li to go talk to Zhou Chuan, as Zhou Chuan had chosen her between her and Lao Miao, but Chu Li knew well that there was no hope in doing so and decided to submit her review comments before going to work tomorrow.
The next day, Chu Li showed Lao Miao the initial review comments she had stayed up all night to finish. Lao Miao was uninterested. After Yu Yao saw them, she carefully looked through them and decided to invite Zhou Chuan to make the decision himself. While having a meal with A Xiang, Chu Li discovered that Lao Miao had posted on Moments saying Zhou Chuan had actively invited him to meet.
Chu Li quickly rushed back to Yuan Yue Publishing House. Lao Miao thought Zhou Chuan wanted to get close to him and quickly gave him a warm reception. Unexpectedly, Zhou Chuan sat in Chu Li's seat and asked about the initial review and editor issues. Lao Miao quickly introduced Du Niaoniao, saying she was the most suitable to be in charge of the initial review, as such an important project couldn't be given to Chu Li.
Zhou Chuan was clearly displeased. There's an unwritten rule in this industry: whoever signs the book is the editor responsible for it. As for Du Niaoniao mentioning a scholarly family background, Zhou Chuan was even more dissatisfied, stating that the editor responsible for this book could only be Chu Li, and there was no room for negotiation. Chu Li rushed back to Yuan Yue Publishing House in the rain and happened to meet Zhou Chuan.
Chu Li pleaded with Zhou Chuan to let her be the editor responsible for "Luohe Shen Shu". She really wanted to be the editor for this book. Zhou Chuan deliberately teased her, saying he needed to think about it. Chu Li quickly went upstairs to get her proofreading manuscript, but Zhou Chuan was already gone, leaving only an umbrella behind.
Yu Yao announced in the group that Chu Li would be responsible for reviewing the manuscript and she would personally guide her, and Chu Li would also be the editor responsible for this book. Chu Li was very happy. As soon as Zhou Chuan got home, Monkey Jun sent a message saying he had gotten back the editing rights and the biggest repayment to Zhou Chuan would be to make his book a bestseller!
To complete the work, Chu Li started working overtime day and night reviewing the manuscript. Chu Li and Du Niaoniao became full employees, and everyone celebrated together. Editor-in-chief Xia praised the two. Lao Miao clearly disliked Chu Li, saying Du Niaoniao had more potential, and almost got into an argument with Yu Yao. Jiang Yucheng and Li Yu discussed collaboration again.
Li Yu asked him to change the background and add a romance line, but Jiang Yucheng directly refused the collaboration. Chu Li came to return the umbrella, but Zhou Chuan said the umbrella wasn't lent to her, but to Lao Miao. Chu Li obviously didn't believe him. Chu Li said Zhou Chuan's novel was significantly over the word count and asked him to delete 100,000 words. Zhou Chuan certainly didn't agree, so Chu Li had to chase him every day.
Chu Li drew big red crosses on the manuscript, and also little stick figures yawning. She patiently found many reasons to persuade him to delete some content. Zhou Chuan refused once again. Chu Li messaged Fox Jun to complain in frustration. After Zhou Chuan saw it, he became even angrier, declaring he absolutely wouldn't delete anything! Despite saying that, Zhou Chuan still took out the proofreading manuscript Chu Li had sent and examined it carefully, staying up until daytime.
Zhou Chuan had already deleted some content. Chu Li was very satisfied. When she messaged Fox Jun, she found he had blocked her. Chu Li went to a convenience store to drink in frustration and met Jiang Yucheng. Chu Li complained that relationships between people were so fragile; losing contact just like that was irresponsible. Jiang Yucheng also felt a bit sad, as some things weren't going his way.
Jiang Yucheng asked Chu Li what would happen if Jiang Yucheng stopped writing novels in the future, but Chu Li believed he would definitely return, and when he did, it would be stunning!
