Meteor Garden 2018 Episode 43 Recap
> Meteor Garden 2018 Recap
The day was drawing to a close, and Daoming Si and Shancai faced an imminent farewell on a bridge. Daoming Si was the first to suggest they break up. Shancai, with a stiff smile, urged him to take good care of himself, a sentiment he wished to reciprocate. Unable to bear her sadness, Daoming Si told her to leave first, wanting to watch her walk away before turning to leave himself.
However, Shancai hadn't gone far before she turned back, calling his name. In that moment, their suppressed emotions overflowed, and they ran towards each other, embracing tightly, unwilling to part. Just then, a person in black passed by and electrocuted Daoming Si, rendering him unconscious. Shancai woke up on a beach, finding Daoming Si unconscious nearby. Fearing he was dead, she screamed. Thankfully, Daoming Si soon regained consciousness, though both of their phones were missing.
They were unsure of their location or how to seek help, and found themselves without food. Daoming Si discovered a bag containing a fishing rod, a flashlight, a lighter, and a bottle of water – simple items that were exactly what they needed. Meanwhile, in London, Daoming Feng was furious with Ms. Yu for allowing Daoming Si to leave the house, especially since he hadn't returned all night.
Ms. Yu, however, stood her ground, asserting that Daoming Si and Zhuang were Daoming Feng’s children, not pawns to be manipulated for the family business. As Daoming Feng dismissed Ms. Yu, she received a call that instantly changed her expression, informing her that Daoming Si had been kidnapped. Soon after, a text message from the kidnapper arrived, asking, "How much do you think your son's life is worth?" The usually composed businesswoman was left distraught.
Back on the deserted island, with the fishing rod, Shancai and Daoming Si managed to catch and grill fish, solving their immediate hunger problem. Sitting together, admiring the clear blue sea, Shancai confessed that she felt a strange sense of gratitude towards their kidnapper. If not for him, they would have already parted ways, but now they could sit side by side, watching the sunset.
As night fell, Daoming Si fashioned a makeshift bed from wood and weeds, calling it a "sea view and night view suite," a gift Shancai treasured. He insisted she sleep while he kept watch by the fire, warning of wild animals. Soon, the howls of wolves echoed through the night, startling Shancai into Daoming Si's arms. For safety, he asked her to stay by the fire while he ventured into the dark forest to investigate.
Growing increasingly scared by the incessant wolf howls, Shancai eventually gathered her courage and followed him. In the pitch-black woods, Daoming Si startled her by placing a hand on her shoulder. He smiled tenderly, and Shancai buried her head in his chest, pleading with him never to leave her again. Daoming Si promised he would never leave her. They returned to the warmth of the fire, and Shancai, leaning against his shoulder, finally drifted off to sleep.
While Daoming Si and Shancai enjoyed their unexpected private world, Daoming Feng was frantic. Interpol reported they had no leads on the kidnappers since the surveillance cameras had a blind spot and no ransom calls had been made. Daoming Feng, desperate, declared she would pay any price for her son's safe return. The next morning, Daoming Si caught an octopus and excitedly brought it back for Shancai to cook.
As they grilled it, they reminisced about Shancai's time in the fishing village after their previous breakup. Daoming Si reflected that Huaze Lei had likely been by her side during that period, making him feel he hadn't done enough for her. He then hugged Shancai, vowing never to let go, no matter what happened. After their meal, they decided to traverse a small, thorny hill in search of a path.
Shancai stumbled and injured herself, which Daoming Si quickly bandaged before helping her continue. As they walked, they heard voices. Approaching, they discovered two tents on the beach, where Xi Men, Meizuo, and Xiaozizi were relaxing. Realizing it was all a prank, Daoming Si angrily confronted Xi Men and Meizuo, grabbing and hitting them.
Xiaozizi intervened, explaining that it was her elaborate plan: to "kidnap" Daoming Si and then strand him and Shancai on the island to nurture their relationship, while simultaneously scaring Daoming Feng. She admitted her bodyguard was the one who electrocuted Daoming Si. Xiaozizi then boldly suggested that Shancai and Daoming Si get married right there on the island. This idea ignited Daoming Si's resolve.
Taking Shancai's hand, he declared to the open sea and sky that he would love only Shancai for the rest of his life. He also affirmed that he would not abandon the Daoming Group but would return to London to shoulder all his responsibilities. He would not give up on either Shancai or his family. Xi Men and Meizuo voiced their full support.
Meanwhile, Daoming Feng received a call from Interpol, informing her that the kidnapper had been identified as Mike, Xiaozizi's bodyguard, and that the entire incident was Xiaozizi’s prank. International news also broke the story of Daoming Si and Xiaozizi's disappearance. Although initially furious, Daoming Feng felt immense relief. She instructed Nishida to immediately contact the public relations department to suppress negative media reports about the Daoming Group's successor and book flights for them to return to Shanghai the following day.
