Shancai, overwhelmed by recent events, tearfully departed Mingde University for a quiet fishing village. Her friends, Li Zhen and Qinghe, realized she had left due to the pressure exerted by Daoming Si's mother, who had targeted their families. Li Zhen recounted how her father's lawsuit was mysteriously dropped and Qinghe's father's transfer to Qinghai was canceled after Shancai disappeared, concluding that Daoming Si's mother was using them to manipulate Shancai.
Qinghe was furious at Daoming Si's indifference, noting that he neither sought Shancai nor allowed them to. He questioned whether he was more suitable for Shancai than Daoming Si, to which Li Zhen confirmed his genuine affection for her. The friends worried about Shancai's well-being, speculating on her current circumstances. Meanwhile, Shancai found herself thinking of Daoming Si's harsh words and wrote "I'm sorry" on the floor.
Her mother discovered the meteor necklace from Daoming Si while packing and questioned her. Shancai admitted they had broken up, claiming it was her decision and an inevitable outcome, and that she was there for a school field investigation. Her mother expressed sadness, having grown fond of Daoming Si. Simultaneously, Zhou Caina faced pressure from her father to return to California to work for their family company or marry.
She expressed her desire to remain in Shanghai, suggesting she could arrange for a top designer to renovate their nearly century-old villa, despite her father's skepticism. Caina then sought out the renowned architect, Mr. Ye Mingchuan, at his design institute. Initially, his assistant, Ding Qi, rudely dismissed Caina, mistaking her for a typical client. To Caina's astonishment, Terence, whom she previously knew as a simple repairman, arrived and was revealed to be Mr. Ye Mingchuan himself.
While Mr. Ye took a call, Ding Qi reiterated that he would not undertake ordinary residential projects. As a disheartened Caina prepared to leave, Ye Mingchuan stopped her and, upon hearing her desire for a master to achieve the seemingly impossible, agreed to take on the renovation. He did so on the strict condition that he would have complete control over the design, construction, and budget.
Impressed by his extensive accolades, including a PhD from UPC and multiple international architecture awards, Caina readily accepted, relieved she could now remain in Shanghai and feeling embarrassed by her initial impression of him. Meizuo, determined to pursue Caina, informed Huaze Lei that he was adopting a more strategic and gentle approach. However, he declared he would escalate his efforts now that Ye Mingchuan was actively involved.
Meizuo then invited Caina to a romantic dinner, where she openly shared her life story, including her childhood struggles with spring allergies. Meizuo captivated her with charming compliments, weaving a poetic narrative around her experiences. Later, he surprised her with a grand gesture: a building-sized light projection professing his love. As Meizuo drove Caina home, she mentioned that Ye Mingchuan was the designer for her old house. Upon arriving, they found him already there.
Meizuo, now aware of Terence's true identity, engaged him in a playful yet territorial verbal exchange, hinting at Ye Mingchuan's past romantic escapades while emphasizing the unique nature of his own feelings for Caina. Ye Mingchuan responded with veiled references to F4's reputation before shifting the conversation to discuss the design proposals with Caina. Since Shancai's departure, Daoming Si had retreated into a brooding silence, ignoring calls and messages.
His temper grew more volatile and cruel, highlighted by an incident at school where he smashed a cake into the face of a girl attempting to confess her feelings to him. Concerned by his withdrawn and aggressive behavior, Ximen and Meizuo worried about the future of F4. They, along with Qinghe, Li Zhen, and Daoming Si's ex-fiancée Xiaozizi, decided to gather and try to cheer him up.
Xiaozizi attempted to lighten the mood by recounting her shared history with F4, but their efforts were futile. Despite an agreement not to mention Shancai, Daoming Si remained sullen, eventually dismissing their attempts at friendship as "boring" and "disgusting." Ximen followed him outside, angrily confronting Daoming Si for taking out his frustrations on his friends and blaming his volatile temper for Shancai's departure. Enraged, Daoming Si punched Ximen, initiating a physical altercation.
Yu Sao later expressed her worry to the friends, urging them to continue reaching out to Daoming Si. Eventually, Ximen informed Daoming Si that Shancai was in a fishing village near Shanghai. However, Daoming Si adamantly refused to go after her, claiming she was the one who left him and he saw no reason to pursue her.
