Shancai found herself lost and alone in the dense forest, searching for Xiaoyou. The heavy wind and snow severely limited her visibility, and she couldn't find her way back. As time passed, her body weakened, and she eventually collapsed in the snow. Her consciousness began to fade, but she was filled with an intense reluctance to freeze to death in a foreign land, with so many unfulfilled dreams.
She had vague visions of her future, seeing herself walking down the aisle at her wedding, but the groom's face was indistinct against the light. Back at the villa, Xin Hui and Baihe were attempting to shirk responsibility for Shancai's disappearance. Huaze Lei, uncharacteristically furious, splashed a glass of red wine on Xin Hui's face, startling both girls into silence.
He confirmed that Xiaoyou had been with Ximen and Meizuo in the wine cellar the whole time, making it clear that Xin Hui and Baihe had intentionally misled Shancai into the blizzard. Huaze Lei then called a rescue team, but the severe weather made it impossible for them to reach the mountain immediately. Meanwhile, Daoming Si, upon learning of Shancai's peril, rushed out without hesitation to search for her. He found her barely conscious, almost completely covered by snow.
Shancai, still worried about Xiaoyou, only relaxed when Daoming Si assured her that Xiaoyou was safe. As she drifted towards sleep, Daoming Si frantically urged her to stay awake, knowing that falling asleep in the freezing cold could be fatal. He called her name repeatedly as he carried her on his back to a small, isolated hut. Inside, he removed his own coat and placed it on her for warmth.
Since they couldn't return to the villa until morning due to the blizzard, Daoming Si gathered firewood and started a small fire, but Shancai continued to shiver and her consciousness waned. As the fire's warmth slowly revived her, Shancai realized that Daoming Si had braved the snowstorm to save her. In that moment, her fear of not surviving the night dissipated; being with Daoming Si made her heart feel warm and happy.
Daoming Si managed to boil some hot water for her, and after drinking it, Shancai regained enough strength to speak, though her body still felt numb. She explained that her clothes were soaked from the snow, and staying in them would lead to frostbite or death. Daoming Si then proposed an old but effective method: using their bodies to generate warmth. He immediately stripped off his clothes.
Hesitant but understanding the gravity of the situation, Shancai also removed her wet clothes, and they lay together by the fire, covered by their garments. Shancai felt a mix of resistance and comfort, imagining Daoming Si as a large, warm dog to ease her embarrassment, hoping to get through the night. The next morning, the rescue team arrived at the hut to find them. The snow had stopped, and the sun was rising.
Shancai's strength had not fully returned, so Daoming Si carried her on his back all the way back to the villa, engaging in their usual playful banter along the way. Upon their return, Xiaoyou was overcome with relief. Daoming Si immediately confronted Xin Hui and Baihe, calling them treacherous and ordering them out of the villa. The two girls desperately begged Shancai for help. Shancai, with her kind heart, couldn't bear to see them abandoned in the freezing cold.
She intervened, suggesting that she would punish them herself, assigning them the task of cleaning the house. Daoming Si, unable to refuse Shancai, relented. Later, F4, guessing how Daoming Si and Shancai must have spent the night, playfully teased Daoming Si about them "hugging each other naked to keep warm," which made both Shancai and Daoming Si blush. Shancai excused herself to shower.
Xiaoyou joined her in the bathroom, revealing that Daoming Si had rushed out to save her the moment he heard she was in trouble. She also shared how Huaze Lei, enraged by Xin Hui and Baihe's deception, had splashed red wine on them, an uncharacteristic act for the gentle Huaze Lei, indicating his deep concern for Shancai. Shancai was touched by this revelation and later thanked Huaze Lei.
He downplayed his actions, stating he couldn't stand their irresponsibility, but his concern for Shancai was evident. Shancai felt a wave of warmth from their friendship, even in the cold foreign land. That evening, Shancai was on the balcony looking at the night sky when Daoming Si joined her. He tentatively asked if she had anything she wanted to tell him.
Shancai, oblivious to his true intentions, simply thanked him profusely for saving her life in the snowstorm and for lending her family money. Daoming Si was disappointed by her misunderstanding. Just then, fireworks lit up the city sky for the New Year. Against this romantic backdrop, Daoming Si mustered his courage and confessed, "I like you." However, his words were drowned out by the noise of the fireworks and the New Year's bells.
Shancai, not hearing his confession, simply wished him "Happy New Year." The enjoyable holiday soon ended. Back home, Shancai tried to keep her near-death experience a secret, but her parents kept inquiring about her "progress" with Daoming Si. Her vague answers led them to believe she had spent the night with him, and they became enraged, fearing she had been taken advantage of. Meanwhile, F4 also pressed Daoming Si for details about his night with Shancai. He recounted the events truthfully, but they remained skeptical, playfully teasing him about whether he had "said what he should say" or "done what he should do."
