He logged into the game "A Chinese Ghost Story", where Erxi, playing as Huantian Xidi, immediately noticed his online presence. She messaged him to meet at their usual spot outside Jinling City. Upon meeting, Huantian Xidi excitedly presented Weiguang with a top-tier sword she had painstakingly forged.
Weiguang acknowledged it was a good sword and suggested they test it with a PK match. After a few exchanges, Weiguang delivered a final, brutal blow, declaring it the "Severing Ties Sword" and stating he had had enough of playing a hypocritical game with "Bei Weiwei." Weiwei, worried about Erxi, bought a cake as a peace offering.
She apologized to Erxi, explaining that the online gamers who had bullied her mistakenly thought Erxi was Weiwei, making Erxi suffer on her behalf. Weiwei added that she had already avenged Erxi. However, Erxi, still reeling from Weiguang's harsh actions in the game, was enraged. She angrily threw the cake onto the floor, shouting at Weiwei to get out. While dining with Nana, Meng Yiran discovered a video on Nana's phone.
The video showed a drunk Cao Guang ranting about Bei Weiwei, claiming she was a "two-timing" person who was with him in the game while also clinging to Xiao Nai in real life. Furious that Nana had withheld such important information, Yiran argued that Xiao Nai shouldn't be deceived by someone like Weiwei. She demanded Nana send her the video immediately, stating she couldn't wait another minute and intended to show it directly to Xiao Nai.
Meng Yiran called Xiao Nai, requesting to meet him regarding a matter concerning Bei Weiwei. However, Xiao Nai promptly hung up, stating he was not interested. Undeterred, Yiran intercepted him on his usual jogging route. She insisted he watch the video, explaining that her roommate had captured it and was going to post it online, but she had stopped her to prevent Xiao Nai from being deceived.
Xiao Nai watched the video on Yiran's phone, discreetly deleting the video from her phone and copying it to his own. Later, he showed the video to Weiwei, explaining that Yiran brought it to him and he deleted the original. He told Weiwei that while sharing this might add to her worries, he believed she would prefer to handle such matters herself.
Weiwei was shocked by Cao Guang's slanderous remarks, denied his claims, and asked Xiao Nai to delete the video. Zhao Erxi, unaware of Cao Guang's early return, went to his apartment to feed Coffee. Preoccupied, she spilled cat food on the floor. Just then, Cao Guang walked out of his room, startling Erxi. She tried to leave quickly, stating her cat-sitting duties were over.
Cao Guang tried to thank her with chocolates, but Erxi, still furious, rejected them and stormed out, leaving Cao Guang bewildered. Later, as Cao Guang was leaving a friend's house, he encountered Weiwei. She confronted him about the video, and through their heated conversation, Weiwei finally understood Cao Guang's animosity: he mistakenly believed she was his in-game partner, Huantian Xidi, and accused her of two-timing him with Xiao Nai.
After Weiwei sternly told him she was not Huantian Xidi and warned him to stay away, she realized that Cao Guang must have deeply hurt Erxi (the real Huantian Xidi) in the game, which explained Erxi's extreme anger and her refusal to answer calls. Xiao Nai called Cao Guang, arranging to meet at the school basketball court.
There, Xiao Nai told Cao Guang that if he still didn't understand the situation, he didn't deserve his reputation as a Foreign Language Scholar. When a confused Cao Guang asked who Huantian Xidi really was, Xiao Nai refused to give answers. Instead, he informed Cao Guang that Meng Yiran's roommate filmed the video and warned him to resolve the matter and ensure no more negative rumors about Weiwei surfaced.
He also advised Cao Guang not to let his foolishness harm the friendship between two girls. When Cao Guang asked if Xiao Nai ever doubted Weiwei after seeing the video, Xiao Nai confidently replied, "Why would I not trust my girl?" After reflecting on his encounters, Cao Guang finally realized that Zhao Erxi was Huantian Xidi. He waited outside Zhenyi Company to apologize.
Erxi asked him a poignant question: "Did Weiguang in the game ever like Huantian Xidi, even a little bit?" Cao Guang admitted that he always thought Huantian Xidi was Bei Weiwei, implying he viewed Erxi's genuine efforts as Weiwei's insincere games. He tried to suggest they could be good friends, but Erxi sharply retorted, "Who wants to be friends with you? !" and walked away, unwilling to forgive him.
