Cao Heng had also fallen for Du Lin's scheme—she executed a plan of "killing with a borrowed knife" and then discarded him after use, paying him off to keep silent. When Yuan Shuai asked if anyone else was involved, Cao Heng revealed that he had always worked directly with Du Lin.
