Love is Sweet Episode 24 Recap
> Love is Sweet Recap
Yuan Shuai enthusiastically cooked in Jiang Jun's kitchen, despite Mrs. Jiang's insistence that he, as a guest, should rest. Yuan Shuai playfully tried to feed Jiang Jun, leading to intimate moments between them. When he casually mentioned being "together with Jun," he quickly corrected himself, clarifying it was a "working relationship." Mrs. Jiang observed their interactions thoughtfully. During dinner, Mrs. Jiang expressed how much she liked Yuan Shuai and recalled how close he and Jiang Jun were as children.
She then lamented the long-ago incident where Jiang Jun's speech notes were stolen, describing the culprit as "hateful" and the cause of a chain of unfortunate events, including Jiang Jun’s transfer from school and missing their farewell before Yuan Shuai went abroad. Yuan Shuai, knowing the truth, knelt down and confessed that he was the one who had taken Jiang Jun's speech notes by mistake, expressing deep regret. Jiang Jun immediately defended him, explaining it was an accident.
Mrs. Jiang, while outwardly forgiving him, proceeded to pour three full glasses of red wine, forcing him to drink each one as a form of penance. After Yuan Shuai had finished the third glass, she finally allowed them to eat. Meanwhile, Xu Li returned to the convenience store where she worked, as she had nowhere else to go. A colleague mentioned a young man who had gotten drunk there the previous night, clearly heartbroken.
Xu Li immediately realized it was Xiaochuan. Looking at the familiar window, memories of her time with him flooded her mind, and she struggled to hold back tears, trying to convince herself to be happy and focus on work. Later that evening, Mrs. Jiang, seemingly having accepted Yuan Shuai's apology, offered him some apples and asked if he was in a "sweet relationship."
Yuan Shuai began to say he was in a very sweet relationship with his girlfriend, but before he could finish revealing that Jiang Jun was his girlfriend, Mrs. Jiang angrily interrupted him. She then marched into another room, holding a photo of Mr. Jiang, and complained to her late husband that Yuan Shuai, "the son of the Yuan family," was a "scumbag" for having a girlfriend while getting close to Jiang Jun.
To punish him, Mrs. Jiang made Yuan Shuai sleep on the living room sofa with only a thin summer blanket, despite it being winter. Yuan Shuai grumbled to himself that "mothers-in-law are always right." Later that night, Jiang Jun, worried Yuan Shuai would catch a cold, quietly brought him a thick quilt. Yuan Shuai, seizing the opportunity, pulled her into his arms, and they cuddled on the sofa, eventually falling asleep together.
Jiang Jun had set an alarm for 4 AM to avoid being caught by her mother. However, when she tried to sneak away, she found Mrs. Jiang already sitting nearby, having witnessed everything. Mrs. Jiang angrily confronted Jiang Jun, urging her to end things with Yuan Shuai, wrongly believing he had another girlfriend and was misleading Jiang Jun. Yuan Shuai then stepped forward and openly declared to Mrs. Jiang that Jiang Jun was his girlfriend.
Upon hearing this, Mrs. Jiang comically pretended to be sleepwalking, counting sheep as she retreated to her room. Once inside, she happily reported the good news to Mr. Jiang's photo, expressing her joy that Yuan Shuai and Jiang Jun were finally together. The next morning, Mrs. Jiang, in high spirits, prepared an extravagant breakfast spread for Yuan Shuai, filled with various cuisines and many different kinds of eggs, emphasizing their nutritional value.
Yuan Shuai mentioned how much he missed her homemade rice noodles, and she excitedly presented him with a "Ten-Ingredient Tonic" rice noodle dish, loaded with precious ingredients like ginseng, sea cucumbers, and turtle. She lovingly insisted Yuan Shuai eat it all, while playfully dismissing Jiang Jun, telling her to just eat vegetables as "girls shouldn’t eat so much." Mrs. Jiang then received a call from a mahjong friend, Cuiping, inviting her to play.
Seeing an opportunity to show Yuan Shuai off, Mrs. Jiang decided to take him along. Yuan Shuai, understanding the "glorious mission," meticulously prepared himself. At the mahjong game, Yuan Shuai subtly played in a way that allowed Mrs. Jiang and her friends to win, earning their praise for his good character and humble attitude.
When other aunties started vying to set him up with their daughters, Mrs. Jiang proudly announced that Yuan Shuai was already in a relationship with her own daughter, Jiang Jun. This revelation caused the other aunties to hastily excuse themselves, clearly envious. On the way home, Yuan Shuai bought roasted chestnuts, knowing they were Jiang Jun's favorite. Mrs. Jiang was touched, recalling how Mr. Jiang used to buy chestnuts for Jiang Jun.
She reminisced about Jiang Jun's childhood and how, after her father's death, Jiang Jun seemed to "grow up overnight" and never cried again. Mrs. Jiang admitted she didn't know if Jiang Jun truly became stronger or just pretended to be, to spare her mother worry.
Expressing her relief that Jiang Jun now had Yuan Shuai, Mrs. Jiang made him promise that no matter what happened between them, he would always treat Jiang Jun kindly and never be the one to make her cry. Yuan Shuai earnestly promised to protect her, never let anyone bully her, and only make her happy throughout their lives. Back home, while they were sharing food, Jiang Jun accidentally spilled water on Yuan Shuai.
As Mrs. Jiang helped him take off his wet jacket, she discovered his business card, which revealed he worked at MH. Her demeanor immediately darkened. She pulled Jiang Jun into a room, demanding to know why she was working at MH. Mrs. Jiang tearfully recounted how investment banking had tragically led to Mr. Jiang’s death, making it a forbidden industry for her daughter.
Jiang Jun tried to explain that while she once shared her mother's view, she now realized it was not the industry itself but the "people in the industry" that mattered, and she truly loved her job. However, Mrs. Jiang, emotional and resolute, refused to listen, ordering Jiang Jun to quit her job immediately and stating that she would not compromise on this matter.
