> Light Chaser Rescue Recap

Luo Yuan decided against studying abroad for Xiong Fei. While at a scenic lake, she explained to Xiong Fei that she had thought deeply before making this choice, stating that her brother, Luo Ben, was trying to force her abroad and would likely oppose their relationship if she stayed. She was determined not to let her brother control her life and firmly asked for Xiong Fei's support, refusing to compromise.

Xiong Fei, despite his own mixed feelings about her giving up such an opportunity, expressed his support for her education abroad, promising to wait for her return regardless of how long she stayed, and urging her not to abandon her dreams for him. Shortly after, Luo Ben, accompanied by Zhan Yan, arrived at the lake and found Luo Yuan with Xiong Fei.

Zhan Yan spoke to Luo Yuan, noting that Luo Ben would likely worry about her whereabouts and suggesting they head back. However, Luo Yuan refused, stating she had told him she wanted to be alone to calm down. During this time, Luo Ben found a measure of peace by the scenic lake, his mood gradually calming in Zhan Yan's company.

Separately, Ding Dingding tried to encourage Zhou Mingming to join her for post-work training, but he was in no mood, still seething over an incident involving a man named Ma. Zhou Mingming regretted saving him, expressing frustration that his efforts were met with ingratitude. Later, Zhan Qingshan gathered the Light Chaser Rescue team, with Zhou Mingming notably absent.

Addressing the team, Zhan Qingshan acknowledged the various difficulties rescuers face, including public misunderstanding, doubt, and even sarcasm, citing Zhou Mingming's recent experience as an example. He firmly reminded them that their work of saving lives meant they had clear consciences, and urged them to set aside burdens and distractions. Zhan Qingshan assured them that the Light Chaser Rescue would always be their strongest backing, no matter what challenges arose.

Zhou Mingming later attended a gathering at the Glory Night Club, where he was immediately confronted and mocked by his acquaintances. They sarcastically "praised" him for "saving" a drowning man, then corrected themselves, stating he was the one who "knocked out" the drowning man, questioning if he was trying to save or kill. Li Aiqi attempted to defend Zhou Mingming, explaining his actions were intended to save the person. However, the mockery persisted, causing Zhou Mingming to angrily leave.

His mother followed him, expressing her concern. She told him she was aware of the recent events and acknowledged his kind and helpful nature. However, she pressed him to consider if he truly possessed the personal ability to save lives, warning that attempting to do so without proper capability might inadvertently deprive others of their chance to be rescued.

Li Aiqi, who was also present, interjected that Zhou Mingming genuinely enjoyed rescue work and had matured through his experiences, but his mother maintained that his safety was paramount to her. Returning home, Zhou Mingming felt despondent, his mother's words echoing in his mind, leading to self-doubt. Ding Dingding called him, bewildered by his unresponsiveness, and tried to share news from the rescue team, but Zhou Mingming abruptly hung up, stating his personal life was none of her concern.

The following morning, Zhou Mingming approached Captain Ruan and announced his intention to withdraw from the rescue team. Ding Dingding immediately confronted him, urging him to retract his words. She reminded him of Captain Qingshan's strong support for him just the day before and pointed out that setbacks are common for successful artists and athletes alike. Despite her encouragement, Zhou Mingming confirmed his decision to give up, even admitting he was choosing to be a "coward."

To snap Zhou Mingming out of his despair, Ding Dingding impulsively jumped into a body of water. Zhou Mingming, seeing her in danger, immediately rushed to her aid, pulling her back to shore. He then asked her if she wanted to die, to which she replied that she did not, but affirmed her trust in him. This dramatic act helped him confront his inner conflict.

He apologized for his earlier impulsiveness, and in a lighter moment, Ding Dingding playfully insisted he owed her a celebratory meal for saving her life. He agreed, making her promise not to undertake such dangerous actions again. Later, while riding the elevator home, Ding Dingding encountered Luo Ben. She appeared somewhat disheveled, and Luo Ben, noticing her demeanor, also remarked that she seemed tired. During their brief exchange, Ding Dingding feigned a sudden foot cramp.

Luo Ben then directly asked if Luo Yuan had contacted her, mentioning that Luo Yuan was "hiding" despite Ding Dingding's denial and claim that Luo Yuan should be in England. Luo Ben's suspicions were confirmed when he saw two pairs of chopsticks in a takeout bag in Ding Dingding's trash, suggesting Luo Yuan was indeed with her.

Luo Ben, having deduced Luo Yuan's location, sent her a message urging her to come home, to which Luo Yuan replied that she would, but not yet, and suggested he consider why she was hiding. Luo Ben then checked his home surveillance, confirming she was at Ding Dingding's apartment. Shortly after, Xiong Fei contacted Luo Ben to arrange a meeting the following day.

When Luo Ben arrived at the designated coffee shop, he found Xiong Fei and Luo Yuan sitting together. Luo Yuan began by addressing Luo Ben's attitude in forcing her abroad, explaining that she refused to live a predetermined life and had decided to be with Xiong Fei, clarifying that she had not given up her future and would continue her studies when able. Xiong Fei then spoke up, stating that they had chosen to be together.

He expressed deep gratitude that Luo Yuan didn't mind his past or his humble profession as a stallholder, promising Luo Ben that he would cherish her, never disappoint her, and fully support her if she wished to pursue further studies abroad. They both hoped for Luo Ben's blessing.

However, Luo Ben recounted his promise to their deceased parents to always protect Luo Yuan and ensure she lived a carefree, happy life, not one where she'd be setting up a stall with "some guy." Luo Yuan defiantly stated that she was willing to live that life. Luo Ben angrily pointed out that Xiong Fei currently lacked the financial means to support Luo Yuan or her education abroad.

Luo Yuan retorted that she could work and didn't need anyone to take care of her. Luo Ben then questioned who had provided her with a carefree life, to which Luo Yuan, in a moment of frustration, retorted, "Who made me become like this?" This deeply wounded Luo Ben. Seeing his pained reaction, Luo Yuan immediately regretted her words and chased after him, tearfully apologizing in sign language, explaining that her hurtful words were spoken in anger.

Luo Ben, understanding, gently told her he knew she didn't mean it and suggested they go home, taking her hand as they left the coffee shop, implicitly signifying a temporary separation from Xiong Fei. Seeking to improve his skills, Zhou Mingming approached Zhan Yan, asking her to teach him rescue diving. He complimented her expertise in professional diving rescue and outlined his ambitious vision to train a top-tier diving rescue team for various regions.

Zhan Yan readily agreed to teach him on Sundays. Meanwhile, Zhan Yan, unable to reach Luo Ben by phone, found him immersed in high-intensity training at the base. Sensing his mounting stress, she took him to a shopping mall to buy lottery tickets, explaining it was her own method for alleviating pressure, and they playfully scratched them, even winning twenty yuan. Feeling much better, Luo Ben and Zhan Yan later went to a street-side barbecue restaurant.

Luo Ben shared that it was the first place he had taken Luo Yuan for barbecue when they were younger and penniless, recounting his promise to provide for her. Zhan Yan acknowledged him as a good brother. Their shared meal and candid conversation about Luo Yuan's situation fostered a growing intimacy between them, culminating in a spontaneous kiss.

Following Ding Dingding's suggestion, Luo Yuan turned to Zhan Yan, hoping she could persuade Luo Ben, as Luo Yuan believed her brother listened to Zhan Yan. Seizing an opportunity while Xiong Fei was working at his food stall, Zhan Yan subtly led Luo Ben to a vantage point where they could observe Xiong Fei interacting with his mother and Luo Yuan.

They watched as Xiong Fei's mother lovingly brought them mung bean soup and engaged with Luo Yuan, even learning simple sign language. The group shared warm, familiar moments, laughing as Xiong Fei's mother playfully teased him about childhood bedwetting and inviting Luo Yuan to share "girls' secrets." Zhan Yan pointed out to Luo Ben that Luo Yuan found the happiness, kinship, and love she desired with Xiong Fei, things Luo Ben himself could not replicate.

Seeing the genuine joy and long-lost sparkle in his sister's eyes, Luo Ben reluctantly conceded, agreeing to their relationship on one stringent condition: Xiong Fei had to resign from the Light Chaser Rescue team. Luo Ben explained his reasoning, stating that while he understood the demands of rescue work, Luo Yuan was a "simpler, kinder, and more vulnerable" girl who would need Xiong Fei more by her side, especially if he were ever hurt during a rescue mission.

Xiong Fei, deeply conflicted by this ultimatum, did not immediately respond, admitting he needed time to process Luo Ben's demand. He reflected on his profound connection to the rescue team, recalling how meeting Captain Zhan Qingshan had brought him hope and cleared away past shadows after his release from prison, a difficult truth he had openly disclosed when he applied to join the Light Chaser Rescue.
