> Light Chaser Rescue Recap

Picking up from the previous episode where Luo Ben visited Falcon in the ICU and realized his time was short, Falcon gradually regained consciousness and shared a deeply painful memory with Luo Ben. He explained that many years ago, his son, Cong, tragically drowned while they were fishing by a river. This devastating loss led to his wife leaving him, as she couldn't bear to stay in a place filled with such sorrow.

Falcon confessed that he felt dead inside until Zhan Qingshan gave him a second chance at life. He expressed contentment with his life, having saved many, but still felt immense guilt towards his ex-wife for the family and son she lost. He instructed Luo Ben to open his wallet, revealing a photo of Cong, whom he described as clever, mischievous, and righteous.

Falcon then entrusted Luo Ben with the final task of ensuring all his savings were used to purchase rescue equipment and donated to Light Chaser Rescue. He also wished for his house to be given to his ex-wife, stating his regret for the family she lost. Before Luo Ben left to get food, Falcon expressed a sudden craving for millet congee with chicken soup.

Zhan Yan arrived at the hospital, heartbroken, to say her final goodbyes to Falcon, whom she affectionately called "Daddy Fan." As his life signs dwindled, she was overwhelmed with tears. Falcon, seeing her as his own daughter, gently told her that she was his greatest concern. He acknowledged her outwardly tough demeanor but deep-seated soft-heartedness and vulnerability.

He knew she still harbored resentment towards her biological father but secretly cared for him, urging her to express her feelings before it was too late. Falcon found comfort in seeing how many people cared for Zhan Yan, advising her to be patient with them. In his last moments, he looked at a photo of Cong, speaking to him, assuring his son he was coming to join him and hoping Cong wouldn't blame him for having saved so many lives.

Meanwhile, Zhou Mingming and Ding Dingding rushed to the hospital, and Zhan Qingshan contacted Falcon's ex-wife. However, by the time they all arrived at the monitoring room, Falcon had already passed away. Medical staff then rushed in, but it was too late. Back at the base, team members were heartbroken by Falcon's death. Zhan Qingshan, reminiscing about their shared memories, placed Falcon's old wine flask next to a trophy.

Following Falcon's passing, Luo Ben, acting as his attorney and the executor of his will, announced Falcon's last wishes at his tomb. All of Falcon's savings were to be used for purchasing rescue equipment and donated to Light Chaser Rescue. Moved by this act, Luo Ben formally applied to join the Light Chaser Rescue team.

Captain Zhan Qingshan led Luo Ben in reciting the volunteer oath, pledging devotion, love, mutual aid, diligent training, and a commitment to saving lives in the face of all disasters. Director Liu, representing the Emergency Management Department and Disaster Relief Committee, expressed profound respect for Falcon's inspiring story. He then delivered good news, informing them that several insurance companies had offered to provide coverage for the team members, ensuring they would have no concerns when carrying out missions.

He also affirmed the government's increasing support for non-governmental non-profit rescue organizations. Later, Zhan Yan visited Falcon's tomb. Despite her sadness, she found comfort in believing that Falcon had finally reunited with Cong and no longer had to bear the responsibility of being a father to others. Luo Ben, curious, asked why she referred to him as "Daddy Fan."

Zhan Yan explained that during a college commendation ceremony for outstanding students, she was a representative, and Falcon, acting as her parent, delivered a speech. She humorously recalled writing the speech for him, only for his impromptu delivery to be a "total disaster" that nonetheless profoundly impacted her values, leading her to regard him as a second father from that day on.

Luo Ben then informed Zhan Yan that he had completed the procedures for Falcon's property transfer to his ex-wife and the donation of his remaining assets to the rescue team for equipment maintenance, assuring her that Falcon's last wishes were fulfilled. He also shared that he had joined the rescue team. As they drove away, Luo Ben reached over and buckled Zhan Yan's seatbelt, a gesture that made Zhan Yan feel nervous and excited.

Luo Ben subsequently requested an extended leave from his law firm, informing his boss, He, that he needed a break, potentially for several months, but promised to return for any crucial matters. He agreed, though expressing concern about the firm's operations without him, mentioning Gao Junchi could help. Meanwhile, Ding Dingding continued to work on her comic, revealing that the character "Wonder Hawk" was inspired by Falcon. She expressed regret that Falcon never got to see her creation.

Zhou Mingming inquired about Ding Dingding's passion for comics. Ding Dingding explained that in the comic world, she could mend the regrets of real life, creating beautiful endings and allowing characters like Falcon to "live on." At the rescue base, during a knot-tying training session, Dapeng confronted Luo Ben, demanding to know what type of knot he had used during the recent rescue of a neighbor who had attempted to jump from a building.

Luo Ben identified it as a "bowline." Enraged, Dapeng vehemently accused Luo Ben of lying, claiming his incompetence was responsible for Falcon's death, and refused to accept his presence in the team. Xiong Fei intervened, attempting to calm Dapeng down. He then advised Luo Ben not to take Dapeng's words to heart, reminding him that everyone makes mistakes.

Luo Ben, however, admitted his responsibility for Falcon's death, acknowledging that he had failed to properly tighten the knot, and was deeply troubled by it. The next day, Xiong Fei opened his wonton food truck. Luo Yuan arrived to show her support, and seeing how busy he was, she offered to help. Early the following morning, Zhou Mingming woke Ding Dingding, insisting she go for a run, as she had strict rules about her employees' daily step counts.

On her run, Ding Dingding unexpectedly encountered Luo Yuan. Sensing a connection, Ding Dingding later questioned Luo Yuan about her relationship with Xiong Fei. Luo Yuan continued to help Xiong Fei at his busy wonton stand, and it was also observed that she was learning sign language. Luo Ben, despite noticing Luo Yuan's absence from home, remained fully immersed in his rescue training, occasionally participating in simple rescue missions.

He received a call from Ai Rui'er, who informed him that Gao Junchi had signed a new client and officially become a senior partner at the law firm, noting that Luo Ben could have achieved this status earlier. Luo Ben, however, showed no regret, instead asking Ai Rui'er to purchase a gift for Gao Junchi on his behalf, clarifying that he found his true value by joining Light Chaser Rescue.
