Li Zeliang confronted He Jianghua, revealing he had found an inhaler at the Lantian Bay construction site that he believed belonged to He Jianghua and bore his fingerprints. Li Zeliang urged him to confess, warning that he would hand the evidence over to the police. He Jianghua attempted to deflect, claiming that many people use such inhalers. Meanwhile, Su Xieyi attended a gathering with Xie Minghao and Dai Zi Ang.
During their conversation, Xie Minghao boasted about having incriminating evidence against He Jianghua, whom he intended to manipulate into causing trouble for Ocean. He revealed his ultimate plan was to frame He Jianghua and send him to prison once he was no longer useful. While pretending to take a selfie to allay suspicion after Xie Minghao checked her phone, Su Xieyi secretly recorded their entire conversation.
As Dai Zi Ang noticed her suspicious activity and alerted Xie Minghao, Su Xieyi had already sent the incriminating recording to Li Zeliang and deleted the file from her phone. Elsewhere, Shi Chuchu reflected on past events, finally realizing that Zhiwei’s bankruptcy had been orchestrated by Shen Xieqing and Xie Minghao, not Li Zeliang. Acknowledging her judgment had been clouded by emotion, she decided it was time to let go of her past feelings and help Li Zeliang.
She informed him that Dai Zi Ang had called for a stockholders' meeting specifically to target him. Despite knowing Dai Zi Ang had secured several votes, Li Zeliang declined Shi Chuchu’s offer of help, wanting to handle the matter himself. At the stockholders' meeting, Dai Zi Ang made a dramatic entrance and introduced Su Xieyi as his temporary special assistant.
Su Xieyi then proposed that Li Zeliang be removed from his post as chairman due to his flawed leadership in the Lantian Bay project. With He Jianghua’s cooperation secured, Li Zeliang and his team focused on finding Shen Xieqing, whom they suspected was being held captive by Xie Minghao. While Ji Yingsong's surveillance yielded no leads, Su Xieyi discovered a crucial clue when her bathroom leaked into the unit below. The downstairs neighbor confronted Xie Minghao, remarking on him having "two units" and "two wives," leading Su Xieyi to suspect her sister was being held in another apartment in the same building.
At a dinner with Dai Zi Ang and Xie Minghao, Shi Chuchu played her part, convincing them she intended to sell all her Ocean shares. Later, she and Su Xieyi excused themselves to the washroom. Shi Chuchu confirmed that their actions were part of a larger plan and that Li Zeliang had received the recording. Su Xieyi then shared her suspicion that her sister was being held in a nearby unit in Xie Minghao's building.
They devised a plan: Su Xieyi would arrange a dinner with Xie Minghao the following evening to distract him, allowing Li Zeliang to rescue Shen Xieqing. Later that night, Li Zeliang called Su Xieyi, telling her he now understood everything. He confessed that his greatest regret was failing to save her father years ago and vowed he would not fail to rescue her sister. He emotionally told her, "To the world, you may be one person.
But to me, you mean the world. Xieyi. Come back." The next evening, while Su Xieyi was at dinner with Xie Minghao, the rescue plan was set in motion. Xie Minghao received a call from his building’s security, who had been tricked into reporting that suspicious "creditors" were looking at apartments. Alarmed, Xie Minghao abruptly left the restaurant. Li Zeliang and Ji Yingsong entered the apartment building and located Shen Xieqing, who was weak and feverish.
Li Zeliang carried her out to safety. When Xie Minghao rushed back to the building, he saw Su Xieyi leaving. After a frantic and fruitless search for Shen Xieqing, he returned to his apartment, only to find Su Xieyi gone as well. As he stood there in defeat, Li Zeliang's promise echoed, followed by Su Xieyi's voice, "Yan. I'm back."
