Li Zeliang went to a pawnshop to redeem a bracelet belonging to Su Xieyi, only to find Xie Minghao already there. A bidding war erupted between the two men over the bracelet, with the price escalating from a few hundred yuan to an astonishing 40,000 yuan. Su Xieyi arrived and stopped their "auction," insisting she would redeem her own property.
She reminded the owner of her story about her boyfriend being in the emergency room and teased him, suggesting the two men's bidding war had been a ploy that left him flustered. She then calmly offered the promised 200 yuan extra, which the owner, realizing he had been played, quickly accepted. Afterwards, Su Xieyi chastised both Li Zeliang and Xie Minghao for their absurd behavior. Xie Minghao asked to speak with Li Zeliang privately.
He warned that a mastermind was manipulating events behind Chen Heng Sheng, and their true target was Li Zeliang. He expressed deep concern for Su Xieyi's safety, noting she had been lucky to escape harm twice. Admitting he felt responsible for her being in danger since he agreed to her return to China, Xie Minghao revealed his plan to take her away from the city.
Li Zeliang, acknowledging the danger, agreed that leaving was the best option for her safety, but vowed to personally bring her back once everything was resolved. Later, Su Xieyi learned from Dr. Zhu that her sister, Xie Qing, was ready to be discharged. Xie Minghao arrived and explained that Xie Qing's condition had improved significantly. He proposed taking her to Germany for recuperation and asked Su Xieyi to accompany them.
Su Xieyi hesitated, wanting to stay and help Li Zeliang now that they knew Huo Jian was behind her family company's bankruptcy. In response, Xie Minghao revealed that Huo Jian had already discovered her true identity as the daughter of Zhiwei's former owner. He played a recording of a conversation with Chen Heng Sheng, who confessed that framing Su Xieyi was intended to sabotage the auction and weaken Li Zeliang.
Chen also revealed that Su Xieyi's identity made her a "thorn Huo Jian must get rid of." Xie Minghao argued that her presence put Li Zeliang in greater danger, as she could be used as leverage against him. Reluctantly, Su Xieyi agreed to leave, but insisted on one more meeting first. She met with Shi Chuchu to ask about Li Zeliang's leg injury.
Shi Chuchu claimed not to know the details, only that Li Zeliang said it was a rock-climbing accident, though doctors found the injury inconsistent with a fall. Shi Chuchu then advised Su Xieyi to leave Ocean and, more importantly, Li Zeliang, for his own well-being. Highlighting her and her father's bank's critical importance to Ocean's finances, she argued that true love meant letting go and urged Su Xieyi to make the sensible choice.
Upon returning to the apartment, Su Xieyi found Li Zeliang had prepared crab roe noodles. He also urged her to leave with Xie Minghao the next day, explaining that Huo Jian would be too focused on him and the auction to pursue her. Li Zeliang reminisced about first meeting her on a mountain two years ago and expressed his regret for not finding her sooner.
He promised that this time, he would not let her go and would find her once the danger passed. They spent the evening watching a romantic movie, with an emotional Su Xieyi staying up late. The next morning, she packed her bags and left while Li Zeliang was in another room. From the window, he silently watched her car drive away.

In his absence, Su Xieyi received a call from Dr. Wu, Li Zeliang's doctor. The doctor revealed the true cause of Li Zeliang's injury: two years ago, he had saved someone from a suicide attempt, and his leg was severely cut. Due to heavy rain and massive blood loss, the wound became infected, necessitating an amputation. Tragically, the person he saved still died, rendering his sacrifice seemingly pointless.
Stunned by this revelation, Su Xieyi immediately abandoned the car and ran back. When Xie Minghao returned, he found her gone and realized with a heavy heart that she had returned to Li Zeliang and that he had lost her. At the auction, Huo Jian smugly told Li Zeliang he had anticipated his every move, but Li Zeliang replied that the feeling was mutual. Li Zeliang led Huo Jian to a private room filled with artworks.
He revealed that the delivery Huo Jian had been tracking was a decoy. The real art, including pieces Huo Jian had corruptly purchased, was here. The warehouse Huo Jian had arranged to be burned contained only junk. Li Zeliang then confronted his uncle, detailing how his father had entrusted him with acquiring art, but Huo Jian had pocketed most of the multi-million-yuan budget. He finished by suggesting that his father's death might have occurred because he had discovered Huo Jian's treachery.
