After the Empress Dowager's birthday banquet, within a few days, a tremendous public opinion storm swept through the capital. Inside the Tranquility Hall, the Empress Dowager looked aged and lost her former majesty, but she remained unrepentant. She was convinced that the world belonged to the Han family and couldn't tolerate the eighty thousand troops of the Di family sleeping nearby with the power to control Jingnan. Any threat to the throne was intolerable to her.

Han Zhongyuan and Di Yongning shared a deep brotherly bond, and though he understood the Empress Dowager's intentions were in favor of him, this kindness had clearly led to a great disaster. The Empress Dowager's actions seemed like protecting her own son's throne, but in reality, she believed that her own son's strength couldn't compare to Di Yongning's. Han Zhongyuan was heartbroken and resolutely left the Tranquility Hall, and An Ning knelt before the door, apologizing.

Now that Ren Anle had regained her identity as Di Ziyuan, the old residence of the Di family had been unoccupied for ten years, old and dilapidated, yet to be repaired. Luo Mingxi was preparing to request permission from the Emperor to relocate the prisons and rebuild the Marquis of Peaceful and Safe's mansion. She felt that he had snatched her husband away, causing her to suffer loneliness. However, Di Shengtian didn't want to continue hiding the truth and decided to reveal it all. As it turned out, Han Zi'an's health had been deteriorating over the years due to constant military campaigns. Except for the imperial physician and Di Shengtian, no one else knew about it. To divert attention, Di Shengtian accompanied Han Zi'an to move to a separate villa and used his own true energy to extend Han Zi'an's life by three years, ensuring peace in the world for the Empress Dowager and her son.

Upon hearing all this, the Empress Dowager was shocked, as if receiving a great blow. She angrily accused them of deceiving her and felt ironic for being self-delusional. As she left, she sneered at Di Shengtian, saying he was always indifferent to the life and death of his descendants, while she falsely ordered the execution of eighty thousand soldiers, and everything she did was a burden of sin, which she would carry to her death without remorse.

That night, some were happy, some were worried. Han Ye tossed and turned, unable to sleep. The deep rift between them seemed insurmountable. Princess An Ning returned to her palace alone, her once radiant eyes now soulless. On one hand, she wanted to prove the Di family's innocence and clear their name, but on the other hand, she felt guilty toward the Empress Dowager. Mo Bei comforted her, saying she had overworked herself in recent days and should rest well, and he would handle the official matters.

Luo Mingxi was pleased with the vindication of the Di family, but he never cared about his own health. Only Lin Lang cared for him the most, but he declared that he would live for Ren Anle in this lifetime. As for Di Chengen, her mind was confused. Although she felt guilty toward the Di family, she had no remorse toward the common people.

Since then, the tumultuous case of the Di family that lasted for over a decade finally came to an end, and the hidden beast in the capital would embark on the next plan. Di Chengen still held no value for them, and Jiang Yu wanted to take advantage of the situation to kill An Ning but was rejected by Mo Bei. Mo Bei used the military power as an excuse to appease Jiang Yu and promised to use An Ning to capture Qingnan City.
