Enraged by Chen Changsheng’s unexpected appearance, Yieshi drew his blood to activate the Sacred Smoke Net, declaring that it “ensnares heaven and earth, unbreakable.” Luoluo recognized it as a demonic hunting net and realized she could not escape. As she began to lose consciousness, she witnessed Chen Changsheng shielding her and breaking the net, feeling a profound sense of security and realizing that when the sky falls, someone would protect her.

Yieshi was shocked that Chen Changsheng could break the formidable Sacred Smoke Net. Jin Yulu and his retinue quickly arrived and took the unconscious Luoluo away. Meanwhile, Yieshi reported his failure to his Strategist, explaining that the assassination attempt on the demon princess failed because of Chen Changsheng’s sudden appearance.

The Strategist noted that since Chen Changsheng recognized Yieshi’s unique footwork, a second attempt would likely fail, especially given that the Empress would surely increase her defenses after such a commotion. Yieshi, however, vowed to complete his mission, even if it meant his own demise, for the sake of his clan’s great cause. After Chen Changsheng’s treatment, Luoluo quickly regained consciousness.

She was still reeling from the encounter, questioning how Chen Changsheng knew the demon’s Yieshi Step and how he broke the Sacred Smoke Net, which she believed was impossible to memorize. Chen Changsheng humbly replied that he simply "happened to memorize them" from books. Luoluo recounted how, with his guidance, she had comprehended the Zhongshan Wind and Rain Sword Technique during the fight, marveling at his youth and knowledge.

Jin Yulu, having investigated Chen Changsheng, described him as having a mysterious background and mastery of various techniques, suggesting he was likely the disciple of a reclusive master. Despite Jin Yulu’s strong objections, asserting that only a high-ranking figure like the Empress was worthy of being her master, Luoluo adamantly declared her decision to take Chen Changsheng as her master, arguing that he had saved her life and could address the unique meridian issues of the demon race.

Seeing her resolve, Jin Yulu conceded. Luoluo wasted no time, arriving at the National Academy with a lavish array of gifts, including a night pearl, rare original martial arts manuals such as the Lishan Sword Technique, Golden Crow Sword Technique, Pojun Fist, and Yuanfeng Sword Manual, as well as precious herbs like fire ganoderma, ten-thousand-year sun ginseng, and Haotian grass. She even presented him with a Thousand-Mile Button.

Chen Changsheng, however, refused to accept such expensive gifts, explaining that her family’s guards had already scared off the assassin and that he could not accept gifts without merit. Luoluo then revealed her true purpose: she was there to formally request to become his disciple, vowing to follow him wholeheartedly in cultivation. Chen Changsheng, feeling his cultivation was inferior to hers, tried to dissuade her, calling his assistance a mere coincidence.

Luoluo refuted his modesty, emphasizing his deep understanding of martial arts and true energy circulation, which even top professors did not grasp. She pleaded with him to accept her, but he still suggested she find a more suitable master in the Divine Capital. Undeterred, Luoluo clung to him, refusing to release him until he agreed. Luoluo proved even more persistent than Chen Changsheng had anticipated.

She continually sought him out, tidying his messy books, offering him massages even when he wasn’t tired, and forcing herself to read alongside him despite her natural aversion to books—all in an attempt to sway his decision. He remained steadfast in his refusal. Eventually, she resorted to waiting directly in his room, startling him when he returned.

Meanwhile, due to the assassination attempt by Yieshi Tanlu, the Empress, concerned for Bai Luoluo’s safety, instructed Mo Yu to arrange for Luoluo to reside in the palace. However, Luoluo fiercely rejected the idea, stating she had only just escaped the confinement of Bai Emperor City and would not be locked away again. Her sole focus remained on convincing Chen Changsheng to accept her as his master, and she sought ideas from her attendants, promising generous rewards.

Jin Yulu then proposed a plan to help her achieve this. Consequently, Luoluo mobilized numerous influential figures throughout the Divine Capital to approach Chen Changsheng and persuade him, a tactic that left Chen Changsheng feeling overwhelmed and powerless. Chen Changsheng tried to covertly return to the National Academy, only to find Luoluo waiting for him at the entrance, along with others echoing the sentiment that "Luoluo is truly suited to be your disciple."

His attempt to avoid her was thwarted when Xuanyuan Po unexpectedly called out to him, presenting Chen Changsheng with two jars of homemade fruit wine as a token of gratitude for previous help. Luoluo joyfully rushed to Chen Changsheng, then playfully questioned why Chen Changsheng accepted Xuanyuan Po's gift but not hers, to which Chen Changsheng explained Xuanyuan Po's offering was not an apprenticeship gift. Xuanyuan Po, seeing the spirited girl for the first time, was visibly flustered and awkward.

Underestimating Luoluo’s resolve, Chen Changsheng was shocked to find her breaking through a wall to build an archway for easier access to his quarters, completely unaware he was bathing naked at the time. He was so stunned by her sudden appearance that he wished it were a mere hallucination, and he was forced to seek refuge at Tang Sanshiliu's place for the night.

Separately, Xu Yourong received a letter from her maid, Shuang'er, informing her of her engagement to Chen Changsheng, a revelation that brought her private joy. When her relative, Xu Weixin, visited, she maintained a distant demeanor, focusing only on warning him not to harm Chen Changsheng, and not expressing any particular interest in the engagement itself.

After reporting to the Empress with Qiu Shanjun about their pursuit of the Zhou Garden key and their encounters with demons, the Empress praised Qiu Shanjun and instructed them to continue their search, with Mo Yu available for assistance. The Empress also expressed her mixed feelings about the reopening of the National Academy.

Mo Yu later teased Xu Yourong about her close relationship with Qiu Shanjun, but Xu Yourong reiterated that he was merely her senior brother, emphasizing her dedication to cultivation and her intention to return to Saintess Peak after the Zhou Garden matter. Despite Mo Yu’s insistence that she and Qiu Shanjun were a perfect match, Xu Yourong advised Mo Yu to consider her own feelings.

Hearing that Chen Changsheng had broken the National Academy's sword formation, Xu Yourong felt a wave of concern, knowing the Empress still harbored resentment toward the academy. Feeling a deep internal conflict, Xu Yourong approached the gates of the National Academy. She hesitated, seemingly about to enter to meet Chen Changsheng, but after a moment of contemplation, she chose to leave. Xuanyuan Po, who was staying at the academy, witnessed her inexplicable actions and found them utterly baffling.

When he later relayed Xu Yourong’s words about the “great Dao of the mundane world” to Chen Changsheng, the astute Chen Changsheng immediately realized that the mysterious visitor had been Xu Yourong. The usual routine was abruptly interrupted when Qiu Shanjun, while traveling through a mountain forest, was ambushed by the demon race's Seven Killers: YuZhu, YuanFei, and XuanMing. A fierce battle ensued between them.

Simultaneously, the Empress summoned Xu Yourong to her presence, specifically warning her to be vigilant against assassination attempts by the Seven Killers. Shortly after, Qiu Shanjun appeared, reporting to the Empress that he had successfully slain YuZhu, YuanFei, and XuanMing, leaving only four of the Seven Killers remaining. On a bustling street in the Divine Capital, Tianhai Ya'er confronted Xuanyuan Po, arrogantly demanding he sever his ties with Chen Changsheng.

When Xuanyuan Po refused, Tianhai Ya'er, flanked by his numerous followers, beat him to the ground and dislocated his arm. Just as things looked dire, Luoluo and Jin Yulu arrived with their guards, rescuing Xuanyuan Po. Luoluo promptly seized Tianhai Ya'er and twisted his arm. Tianhai Ya'er, unaccustomed to such humiliation, first threatened to exterminate Luoluo's entire clan, but quickly changed his aggressive tone upon discovering her identity as a demon princess.

However, Luoluo was unforgiving and twisted his arm in retaliation for Xuanyuan Po's injury. Xuanyuan Po watched Luoluo protecting him, deeply moved by her resolute actions. As Luoluo, Jin Yulu, and Xuanyuan Po made their way to a medical clinic, they encountered Yieshi once more. Despite Jin Yulu's protective presence, Yieshi easily overpowered him and the guards using his unique Yieshi Step. He then focused his attack on Xuanyuan Po.

Luoluo, stepping in to protect Xuanyuan Po, was struck in the back, spitting blood and collapsing. Xuanyuan Po was heartbroken to see her injured again while saving him. Yieshi advanced, intent on delivering a fatal blow to Luoluo, but Mo Yu suddenly intervened, blocking his attack. Realizing his opportunity was lost for the day, Yieshi attempted to flee but was intercepted by Xu Yourong, who killed him with her sword.

This entire dramatic event was observed by one of the remaining Seven Killers. Mo Yu intended to transport the gravely injured Luoluo back to the palace for treatment, but Luoluo stubbornly insisted that only Chen Changsheng could treat her. Honoring her request, Jin Yulu swiftly brought her to the Hundred Herb House and summoned Chen Changsheng.

Upon examining Luoluo, Chen Changsheng informed Jin Yulu that her condition was critical; her demon meridians had suffered severe damage from her attempt to forcefully cultivate human techniques. Believing her life was drawing to an end, Luoluo desperately pleaded with Chen Changsheng to accept her as his master, regardless of the circumstances.
