He instantly became a true Soul Master and declared that he would fight Tang San to the death.
Tang San went to find Yu Xiaogang overnight to ask for advice. Yu Xiaogang advised him to give up as soon as possible, as what Xiao Chenyu wanted was Xiao Wu. Tang San was not convinced. Yu Xiaogang promised to help him obtain a Soul Ring and told him to meet him on time tonight. Late at night, Tang San saw that Xiao Wu was already asleep. He hurried to meet Yu Xiaogang.
Yu Xiaogang wanted to take him to the Hunter's Forest to hunt a Soul Beast and obtain a Soul Ring. But they needed a clearance permit from the Martial Soul Hall to enter the forest. So Yu Xiaogang took Tang San to stake out outside a shop, wanting to sneak in to buy the clearance permit when the shop closed. Yu Xiaogang summoned his Martial Soul, Luo Sanpao. Tang San didn't expect it to be a dog.
The shopkeeper claimed the clearance permit was hard to get and wanted 100 gold soul coins. Yu Xiaogang traded Luo Sanpao as a live Soul Beast and successfully obtained the clearance permit. Luo Sanpao was a mutated Martial Soul, generally unrecognizable to ordinary people. Yu Xiaogang summoned Luo Sanpao back as soon as they left the shop. The two of them worried the shopkeeper would find out and chase them, so they quickly hurried away.
Yu Xiaogang had prepared a large cart of white radishes for Luo Sanpao beforehand. He and Tang San successfully entered the Hunter's Forest with the clearance permit. Luo Sanpao had an extraordinary sense of smell. Guided by him, they could find Soul Beasts. But after walking for a while, Luo Sanpao became exhausted. Yu Xiaogang fed him to replenish his strength. A Nether Wolf suddenly appeared in the forest.
Yu Xiaogang had Luo Sanpao attack and knock out the Nether Wolf. He killed the Nether Wolf with a dagger. A white Soul Ring appeared before his eyes. Yu Xiaogang claimed his Martial Soul was useless and he didn't need the Soul Ring. But Tang San couldn't absorb it either. The Soul Ring and the Nether Wolf's body instantly turned to ashes. Luo Sanpao ate radishes in large mouthfuls to replenish his strength.
Tang San suddenly heard movement in the radish basket. He quickly opened it to see what was inside. Unexpectedly, Xiao Wu was hidden inside. Xiao Wu had secretly hidden herself when they were buying radishes. She begged Tang San not to send her back and promised not to cause them trouble. Xiao Wu had lived in the forest since childhood. She guessed that the pack of Nether Wolves would come soon. They were so scared they took off running.
Xiao Chenyu brought Liu Long through the checkpoint to the Hunter's Forest. They quickly found wheel tracks and followed them to search inside. As expected by Xiao Wu, the pack of Nether Wolves arrived quickly. Yu Xiaogang released Tang Sanpao to hold back the wolf pack. They seized the opportunity to flee in a hurry. Xiao Wu thought Yu Xiaogang was intentionally harming Tang San, so she quietly pulled him aside.
Xiao Wu had checked all the books in the school library. If the first Soul Beast hunted had cultivated for over 400 years, it would lead to Martial Soul failure, and one would never become a Soul Master. Tang San firmly believed that Yu Xiaogang would not harm him. He wanted to obtain a Soul Ring as soon as possible, as only then could he contend with Xiao Chenyu.
