Tang San heard that the Fiend Squad had killed many people in the arena. Wang Sheng claimed it was to establish prestige for their squad in Xisi City, thereby becoming famous. He knew Ye Zhiqiu had sent Tang San to challenge him and promised to show him leniency. Tang San shook his head and said nothing.
When he learned that Wang Sheng had been ordered by captain Meng Li to throw the wife of the dead Soul Master outside the city, he was even more furious. He condemned him for transferring his hatred for Xiao Chenyu onto others. The two started arguing violently. Wang Sheng worried that Tang San would give up the challenge because of this, and Meng Li would personally come to catch him and also take action against his companions.
Tang San had waited for this challenge for a long time; he would not give up. Early the next morning, Lan De was going to take the students to Heaven Dou City. Tang San used the excuse that he still had things to do in Xisi City and asked for leave from Lan De.
Xiao Wu wanted to be with him, and Yu Xiaogang also did not want Tang San to take risks, so he decided to stay and challenge with him. Yu Xiaogang, Tang San, and Xiao Wu sent everyone to the city gate. Xiao Wu bid farewell to her companions with tears, vowing to challenge the Fiend Squad with Tang San and strive to let him see his father earlier.
As Lan De and his group were about to exit the city gate, they encountered a sandstorm. Yellow sand instantly filled the entire sky. People were blown around. Lan De and the others were quickly scattered by the sandstorm. Dai Mubai searched everywhere for Zhu Zhuqing, accidentally meeting Ningrongrong on the way, and took her back to the inn. Dai Mubai then returned to look for Zhu Zhuqing.
Ou Si Ke was blown into a small alley and saw Ma Hongjun curled up in a corner of the street. He quickly went over to meet up with him. The two couldn't stand steadily and could only find things in the alley to use as cover. A Sand Strider Beast came near them. Ma Hongjun immediately lost control, covered in fire, and charged straight at the Sand Strider Beast.
Ou Si Ke summoned his Martial Soul and forcefully woke Ma Hongjun up. Only then did Ma Hongjun realize he had lost control. Dai Mubai searched everywhere for Zhu Zhuqing. Tang San used great effort to finally rescue Hu Liena from the whirlwind. Hu Liena thanked Tang San for saving her twice.
Although Tang San hadn't thought much about saving her, Hu Liena's heart rippled for Tang San. Tang San was worried about the safety of his other companions. Afterward, the three of them supported each other back to the inn, wanting to inquire about the whereabouts of the others. Tang San learned that the others had not returned and wanted to go out and save people.
The clerk guarded the door tightly, advising him not to go to his death, because the Sand Strider Beasts were still howling outside. Ma Xiuno came out upon hearing the news and pleaded with Tang San to take him out of the city, saying he had important matters to attend to. Ma Xiuno called Tang San to his room, where there was a cub of a Sand Strider Beast.
Tang San concluded that the Sand Strider Beast outside was looking for its child and wanted to send the cub out. At this moment, Wang Sheng brought Meng Li and members of the Fiend Squad to find Tang San. Ma Xiuno pleaded with Meng Li to take him out of the city. Meng Li learned that he was the steward of the Heaven Dou City royal family and, in a fit of anger, wanted to kill him.
Ma Xiuno was so scared that he repeatedly pleaded for mercy and hastily claimed he could resolve the sandstorm. Meng Li learned that he had secretly captured the cub, which caused the mother beast to go mad and trigger the sandstorm. Meng Li told Ma Xiuno to send the cub back.
