Lin Zhixiao was never one to admit defeat, so she suggested to Gu Wei that they share a bowl of noodles. But Gu Wei suddenly stared at Lin Zhixiao and asked her to close her eyes. Xiao Shan and the others saw this and mistakenly thought Gu Wei was going to kiss Lin Zhixiao. Lin Zhixiao, like everyone else present, thought the same, and she leaned in with a look of anticipation.

Although Lin Zhixiao and Gu Wei had established their romantic relationship, they hadn’t told their parents. As a result, dating felt like a guerrilla mission, always on alert to avoid being caught by their elders. After the holiday, Lin Zhixiao needed to return to school. She hurried downstairs and quickly jumped into Gu Wei’s car, trying not to be spotted by her mother. On the way to school, Gu Wei had prepared breakfast for Lin Zhixiao.

Shao Jiang, more than willing, offered to stay and eat with Lin Zhixiao. But Gu Wei, unwilling to leave his girlfriend alone with a rival, hailed a cab and sent Lin Zhixiao home. Shao Jiang received a message from her and left disappointed. Elsewhere, Gu Wei’s father came home and mentioned that Gao Xi had suddenly taken leave. From Deputy Director Gao, he learned this likely had something to do with Gu Wei. Gu Wei’s mother had already regarded Gao Xi as her future daughter-in-law, so she took the initiative to call Gao Xi to find out what was going on.
