Lu Zhaoyao and Li Chenlan went to Mount Lingting, and the further they walked, the more they felt the path ahead was bizarre. To pass the time, Lu Zhaoyao asked about Sima Rong and Yuezhu. Yuezhu worried that her injuries were severe and Sima Rong wouldn't be able to escape unscathed with her, so she urged him to leave first. But Sima Rong stubbornly refused, and the two were surrounded by the South Moon Sect disciples.
Ultimately, the two were outnumbered. The South Moon Sect leader injured Sima Rong's leg with a poisoned projectile. Lu Zhaoyao watched everything happening before her eyes and only then realized the reason for Sima Rong's disability. Jiang Wu brought his people and found Li Chenlan and others. He was very curious about Lu Zhaoyao and even tried to tug at her to greet her.
Lu Zhaoyao realized something was wrong in the illusion and quickly escaped from it, using the Liuhe Sword to prevent Jiang Wu from harming the others. At this time, Sima Rong was still immersed in the illusion, dreaming that he and Yuezhu were pursued and severely injured, but neither was willing to abandon the other and leave, so they helplessly fell off a cliff together.
